Rogue attacks weren't uncommon, actually they were frequent because rogues were a bunch of stupid reckless fools that cared naught for their inferior little lives so it was not a rare occurrence to seem them cause mayhem, their protests did little to change the system anyways. James wasn't concerned about rogues at all but what had him on alert was the fact that the howl for battle echoed around the castle walls...which meant that the enemies were very close. His knee jerk reaction was to get Ever to immediate safety, the rest was of no great importance, he could easily fight those pesky little nobodies but his mate was fragile and in condition to suffer a rogue attack that could go on for hours until he had on his hand the blood of hundreds of those pests.
