CHAPTER NINE
Eva followed Swanson down the stairs into a part of ARC she had never seen before.
“It’s not just the one level with the council chambers,” Swanson provided. “We could survive here for months on end, as we could in the underbelly of the castle.”
“As long as a fifty-tonne demon doesn’t drop out of the sky and land on the building,” Eva quipped.
“True. The core of this building is of a similar material to the retreat, perfected more as this was custom-built for us. We have light from the rooftop redirected through the core of the building right to the base level. The World Meteorological Organization staff sees the light too but only through mirrors.
