The journey back to the airport was fraught with hazards. Terrified by the unearthly attack, the residents of Sioux City hurtled along the roads paying no attention to those around them. Crashes were frequent and several times, they had to switch sides to avoid flaming pile-ups.
Eva sat in the back of the ARC vehicle with Madden while the remaining Ron threw the car along the highway at ridiculous speeds. All around them, sometimes as close as the road itself, but mostly in the distance, portals began to open.
