Chapter 2 – Training begins….. PART 1 Thus, three days past since that very day. After the announcement of the summoning being a success, the kingdom paraded the heroes the next day, to show the world the saviors given by the goddess. Because of these festivities, the nation of Grandeur Empire, Holy Eldian Empire, Christopher Republic, Merchant State Republic, Rosewood kingdom of Elves, Lava Mount Nation of dwarves and the Forest of Pixies now know the coming of the heroes. Some personally came the second day to meet the heroes and few tried to make them visit their countries. However, most were just curious people wishing to know well the heroes that they tried to give them gives out of clear conscience. They were good people indeed, but they were just too many. As such, the heroes were given a rest the third day. The heroes were relieved that they were given the opportunity to at least take a break from handshakes and various introductions. Thankfully, no problem came up and now the heroes were well rested and were now at the training ground where the knights were practicing their swordsmanship. With the heroes wearing trainee clothes of brown leathers and suspenders, they stood with their chest out in front of their instructor. “Good day heroes, I am the one instructed to train you all in order to prepare yourselves to fight the Demon king’s army. My name is Janne Nichoulaus Aravel, I am the second princess of Aravel and also it’s one and only Holy Knight” Clad in silvery to white armor that shines from the reflection of the sun’s light, her golden hair tide with a red ribbon bellowed along with the flowing wind. Her perfect blue eyes shimmered proudly as she spoke dignified to the young heroes. Her small pure white hips down to her legs were erotically showing as it peeked out from the slit of her white skirt. The amazingly crafted sword on her waist showed no signs of movement even when she was walking side to side to look at all the heroes as she spoke. This was second princess of Aravel, Janne Nichoulaus Aravel. From the tender age of ten, Janne was already trained by the pagans from the Holy Eldian Empire in the West Country to be the very first human to earn the title of Holy Knight. Due to her receiving an oracle from the goddess, Janne now serves as the sole Holy Knight of Aravel and the world. Her skills and level were enough to decimate an entire army of monsters within minutes and the power given by Holy sword Maria Lancelot was enough to fight a demon general singlehandedly. However, that kind of power was only limited to that kind of level of strength. If she were to battle the Demon King on her own Janne would surely fail. Of course could deal some damage on the Demon king but it only be at the level of dirtying his clothes. That was how strong the Demon King was to a Holy Knight like Janne. That was why; she agreed to summon the heroes. Even though she insistently tried to stop the summoning as much as possible, the strength of the Demon king was just too much for her. The power of a Holy Knight granted with the blessings of the Goddess Eldia could only amount to such level. Janne dejectedly accept the hero summoning and now, in hope to help them grow stronger than the Demon king and her, she proactively gained permission from her father to let her be the one that would train the young heroes. And so, from this day onwards, she will be the instructor for the 25 heroes until the third month period given to them by the king. The third month period given by the king was the time needed for all the heroes to be fully trained and prepared for the war. In the next two months, a war between the beast races was predicted to happen and leading that war was the Demon General Maezbrule, a Minotaur that has the strength to destroy mountains with his bare hands. Maezbrule carries a large battle axe that was even larger than his four meter size. It was approximately at least 5.2 meters long and two and a half meters wide. With that large weapon in his hands, it would upset the tide of the war. With that as a threat, the king gave the first three months to train the heroes to defeat the demon general. King Solomon fears that without preparations, the situation may change and the whole group of heroes would then be killed in the end. As such, he gave permission to his daughter, Janne; to train the heroes thoroughly in order to prevent some loses in his side. This was the wisdom of his as the current king of Aravel. “For now, I have distributed these Status Cards for all of you to use. These specially made Status Cards have the ability to store your information them, acting as your identification documents in this world” {Princess Janne} While the soldiers were distributing palm size cards that had a thickness of 0.10 mm coated in a dark grey tint to the heroes Janne explained as such while keeping her eyes locked on every hero. The eyes of the heroes were filled with curiosity as they held the dark grey steel plated cards in their hands. Kaguya raised her right hand, gaining the attention of Janne, who was about to talk about the cards’ uses. “Umm…. Status Cards…? Do they show things like numerical values of individual strength and such?” {Kaguya} “That is correct. Once you drip a drop of blood on this card’s surface, all your information will be written on it. Your skill, stat values, attributes levels and so on. These cards are what the guild use whenever Adventurers join their association” {Princess Janne} Of course, private information will be kept hidden from others and only necessary parts will be shown- Princess Janne said so as she showed her own Status Card to the heroes. [Status] Name: Janne Nichoulaus Aravel Age: 20 Gender: F Title: [Second Princess] [Holy Knight] [Paladin Knight][Crusade Hero][Warrior Princess] Class: Holy Knight Level: 100 Str: 550 Agi: 600 Vit: 750 Resistance: 600 Magic Resistance: 650 Magic Power: 900 Skills: Light blade Sonorous Wind blade Holy light Cure all Purification Light veil Absolute Swordsmanship God send severance Call Ally Light Speed Omega vibration blade Swiftness Sword Master Summon light servants: Angel call Purity Hail Guardian Shield Blades Master Aegis Shield Divine Protection Holy Creed: Song of the Light Limit Break Elemental Mastery Spell Casting Meteor Hell flame Taming Silent Presence Absolute Indignation Such were the things written in the Status Card of Princess Janne. Her skills were many and all her stat values were all above 500. Her level was 100, which was the level cap all the people in this world. Going beyond that is impossible. After seeing such information, the heroes prickled their index fingers with the needle provided by the knights and dripped their blood on top of the Status Cards that each of them hold. Blue light emerged in sequence as each card received a drop of blood from its owner. The blue light became streaks as it then wove onto the cards’ surface, carving the information needed to be printed on the Status Cards. Beautiful glitters burst out as the carving was finished. What remained was flickering letters and numbers as the cards was taking in the information given by the blood. The girls all exclaimed at the beauty of the light works. Seeing as the blue lights were like stars in the night sky, despite that there was still light, it was beautiful nonetheless. Just like that, the Status Cards of the heroes, bare the extraordinary abilities given to them by the Goddess Eldia. But there was something that the princess did not expect. [Status] Name: Reigi Kagemori Age: 16 Gender: M Title: [Hero] Class: Holy Knight Level: 100 Str: 100 Agi: 100 Vit: 100 Resistance: 100 Magic Resistance: 100 Magic Power: 100 Skills: Language Comprehension Holy Sword Light Blade Sword Arts Boost Limit Break Magic Armor Light Speed Light Protection Divine Protection Purification Pure Light Barrier Light Speed Sword might Overhead cut Overload Strength Herculean Strength [Status] Name: Ryuuji Onodera Age: 16 Gender: M Title: [Martial Arts Master] Class: Fist fighter Level: 100 Str: 100 Agi: 100 Vit: 100 Resistance: 100 Magic Resistance: 100 Magic Power: 100 Skills: Language Comprehension Boost Power boost Greater Strength Vajra Iron Body Storm fist Barrage Iron Fist Master Greater Defense Solid Defense These were Reigi’s and Ryuuji’s Status in their respective Status Cards. It seems that being a hero granted with the blessings of the Goddess Eldia naturally gives them stronger power to begin with. It might be unfair to the other knights who were looking with awe, but for the people that understands the standing of the 25 individual summoned by the Goddess Eldia, the heroes are supposed to be that strong. Janne’s eyes narrowed at the fact that she was instantly overshadowed by the heroes however kept it hidden as she was the person that would train them. And so, with her bitter feelings kept deep within her heart, Janne showed her proud smile at the young heroes, which was meant to save the world from the hands of the Demon King. The laughter and cheers of the young heroes, echoed across the ears of both the Princess and the assistant knights. It seems that they were glad to have such power up in the beginning of their adventure, being a hero is something to be proud of. But, a single Hero immediately stood out amongst the happy celebration, a single hero that had jet black hair and eyes; tall and somewhat leaned young hero was showing an expression of perplexity as he looked down at the Status Card in his hands. Why was he showing such face? Is there something wrong with his Status? – Janne whispered in her mind as she pondered about the reason of Kyoushiro’s face as he stared at the information written in his Status Cards. With that, Janne decided to ask Kyoushiro what was wrong with his Status Card. “Hero-dono, what might be the reason for your expression? Is something wrong with your Status Card?” {Princess Janne} Kyoushiro flinched as he heard the sonorous voice of Princess Janne next to his ears. But, to not offend the princess, he immediately answered her question as he averts his gaze at the beautiful face of Princess Janne. “Ah…. Well, it seems that I’m in not much of a hero. My abilities are…..” {Kyoushiro} Though Kyoushiro couldn’t continue, it seems that Princess Janne understood the disturbance in Kyoushiro’s words. Janne looked at the information written on Kyoushiro’s Status Card that was flickering with blue hue silently. [Status] Name: Kyoushiro Kagami Age: 16 Gender: M Title: [Converter] Class: Master Converter Level: 10 Str: 10 Agi: 10 Vit: 10 Resistance: 10 Magic Resistance: 10 Magic Power: 10 Skills: Language Comprehension Conversion Lower than any of the other heroes, Kyoushiro’s Status was the average amount of the numerical values in Eldia. It seems that Kyoushiro was the weakest amongst all of the Heroes present in the Training ground. The wind blew heavy on Kyoushiro’s shoulders as he saw the shock face of Princess Janne as she went through the information on the Status Card over and over again. Seconds later, Princess Janne’s face clouded but due to Kyoushiro being a hero she hid that with a smile, despite how fake looking it was. Princess Janne has no talent in hiding her true feelings….. “Hero-dono, this may sound rude but…..” {Princess Janne} “Please, don’t hesitate and tell it honestly” {Kyoushiro} “V-Very well…” {Princess Janne} It have been because Janne was trying to not offend Kyoushiro as much as possible that she hesitate in telling the truth, but with Kyoushiro noticing that and telling her to give it honestly, Princess Janne breathe out her relief before continuing her assessment. “Kagami-sama, you have what is the average level and stat values of a toddler of this world….. Forgive me for being direct but, you are the weakest amongst the 25 heroes…” {Princess Janne} That was too direct… Kyoushiro sighed as he took in reality harsher than anyone else. Hearing those words, the surroundings turned silent. The others might have heard that loud and clear or so Kyoushiro whispered under his breath. With the word of Kyoushiro being the weakest among the all, the class of 1-C immediately burst into laughter. Some even coldly told Kyoushiro that he was an incompetent and poorly chose hero as they jeered altogether. That said, not all were laughing. Some were quiet while staring worriedly at Kyoushiro while some were looking at Kyoushiro with eyes filled with pity. It was obvious who were understanding and who were not. “Hahaha…!? Seriously is this actually happening?!” {Ren Shikimi} “What the hell? And we’re losers? HAHAHA!! This is just too funny!!” {Akatsuki Toru} Ren Shikimi and Toru Akatsuki gave their remarks as they were the ones that were disdained within the class 1-C as Losers for being gamers. Toru and Ren were both the unruly kind of classmate within the class 1-C, even before the summoning happened. They play their R-18+ games with loud speakers while letting feverish and perverted remarks on the games they were playing. They were the worst kinds of Otakus in the school, or so the female students of class 1-C have complained. “Hey!! That isn’t nice!!” {Minami} “That’s right!! Don’t compare Kyoushiro-kun with yourselves!! At least he is more of a man than you are!!” {Kaguya} Suddenly, from the silent crowd, Minami and Kaguya defended Kyoushiro from the insults Ren and Toru were saying to him. It was an action that took the whole class by surprise, because out of all the times the two girls had talked to Kyoushiro, this was the very first time; they had mostly never talked to him from before. Actually, even before the first day of class neither the time when this year’s cultural festival came, there was almost no one in their class that spoke to Kyoushiro. This was even the first time they heard his voice. Surprisingly, it was quite a normal voice. Anyway, that aside, Kaguya and Minami never actually spoke to him neither know him well but they defended him like they had known him for ages. That was the mystery that was currently filling the minds of all heroes present. “Huh? What does that mean? That guy is more of man than we both are? The guy who never even talked to any of us…..THAT GUY?” {Ren} “Also, what do you guys know about him anyways? It’s not like you’re close or anything nor concerned with someone like him, what’s the deal in defending him? He’s weak after all” {Toru} Ren and Toru glared at Minami and Kaguya as they question their reason for protecting him. The two girls trembled as they realized that they did something out-of-the-norm that even they don’t do often. However, they do have their reasons; reason that they can’t say in front of everyone. To that, the two girls went silent; scared of the fact that they would get insulted by everyone as well. But Kyoushiro immediately stepped in between the two and the other guys. Although his eyes or rather, eye, was seething with rage for some reason. It was a first for all to see that from the quiet Kyoushiro that once sat beside the window at the corner of the class. “Shut it” {Kyoushiro} Kyoushiro threateningly said so as he glared at Toru and Ren… “While I don’t really care what you think of me, don’t start taking out your frustrations on them. If not, I’ll take you both down even when I’m weak” {Kyoushiro} Weak – a word that denotes one that cannot or does not defend themselves; someone who does not have the power to save others and himself and someone that would yield to the strong. It was the perfect word to describe Kyoushiro right now. Out of all the heroes, he was by far the weakest right now. It even showed numerically at the magic item in his hands. But, that was just numbers on a piece of metal, the strength they have obtained now won’t even matter if they haven’t even learned. That is why, even if the Ren and Toru were to use it right now, certain accidents would surely happen. “Don’t get cocky bastard…” {Ren} “Just because Kaguya-san and Minami-san is protecting you, don’t get ahead of yourself!!” {Toru} Toru suddenly launch an attack towards Kyoushiro’s direction. Ren stayed back while reading his Status Card. How troublesome….. Kyoushiro lethargically sighed inside his heart. “HAAAAA!!!” {Toru} Toru roared as his right fist was headed to Kyoushiro’s left cheek. Using Toru’s momentum, Kyoushiro leaned his left flank backward while using his right leg as an axis to turn his body. With the punch ended up in a failure, Kyoushiro caught the scruff of Toru’s shirt before he sled down on his knees then Kyoushiro twist his waist to push Toru toward Ren’s direction. “Bright Fla----“{Ren} Just as Ren was about to say the name of his skill, Toru was already right in front him, making him fail in his chant and cut his words short. Shortly after realizing that he can’t continue his words, Ren fell with Toru on top of him screaming GYAAAAA!!!! As they both fell…. “…………………” {Everyone} Almost everyone fell silent. Although no one expected the fight to be won from either two sides, it was an end that they did not expect at all. Kyoushiro was indeed silent but his opponent was someone that acquired high status values. Even if Kyoushiro was someone that studied self-defense techniques, winning against Toru, who has about 90 in strength stat values and 80 in agility stat values. It was obvious who would win against the two but Kyoushiro won even with his average stat values. Something that all the heroes including Janne and the knights in the training grounds did not expected. Gh…. And Kh…… groans were heard from the two that fell on the ground. Toru hurt his chin while Ren hurt his head. The two fell on the ground hard so that was to be expected. “Are you two done now?” {Kyoushiro} Kyoushiro said so in a very cold tone…. “If you are, make sure to apologize to these two. If not, I’ll be breaking few more of your bones” {Kyoushiro} Kyoushiro turned his back around when he heard Ren and Toru say ‘we give up….’ while groaning on the ground. The sight of Kyoushiro turning back seemed malicious in the eyes others but in the eyes of the two girls that was protected by him, he was cool. A hero he is if he could do that and proves it himself, that was the words of Janne as she smiled satisfactorily as she learned that strength can’t be decided by numbers alone. It was a valuable lesson that she herself wouldn’t forget. Then, as Kyoushiro’s figure disappeared in the shadows of the trees that had the path towards the building the heroes were occupying the training of the 24 heroes even when the 25th hero has left…. ……………. The path towards the building the heroes were occupying was dark. Because of the dense leaves of the trees and the trees itself were actually taller, they were obscuring the rays of the sun with their shades. However, that was not the real reason why it was dark. It was due to the skill Light Disruption> that was currently activated in a certain part of the forest. But, why is such skill used inside a dimly lit forest? The answer was for reconnaissance. “So these are the summoned Heroes that the world has its eyes on…” Inside the shadows of the forest, the soft whisper of an unknown individual caused some leaves to rustle as the he speak. Covered by the shades of the dense leaves of the trees, a slim figure of someone was sitting on a branch while looking at the distance where the Heroes were standing. The long fluffy ears of white rabbit were swaying left to right as she watched the disturbance within the Hero group with her scour skill Far Sight>. The jet black clothes he was wearing shows the definite curves on his body. He was no he but as she. Hidden behind the dark clothes of a ninja that was supposed to be just folklore in some countries, a pearly white skin, long silver hair and red eyes accompanied by a long rabbit ears and large round cotton of a tail poking out from her behind. The person was one of the beast folk of the rabbitmen race. This particular race has good compatibility with reconnaissance as they have fast feet and good ears. Their skills were on those of stealth and they were the best when it comes to assassination. They are the feared beast forest because of their notorious name of Black Rabbits. Clad in distinctive black ninja clothes, they carry covert operations using stealth skills and infiltration skills to do dirty jobs. Not only that, each women of the Rabbitmen race are beautiful to a degree of calling them godly. Unlike elves, Rabbitmen age like normal beings but their appearance stops aging when they reach the age of 120 years old. Coincidentally, all beast folks have life spans of 100 to 250 years old. Those who exceed those numbers will then be called as Elders. The female rabbitmen right here is about 25 years old as is one of the best members of the Black Rabbits. In this occasion, when the war against the races of humans, elves, dwarves and pixies were drawing close, reconnaissance on enemy lines were necessary. That is why; the female rabbitmen was spying on the heroes on their first day of training. However, it seems that there was some sort of conflict within the heroes after they have received their respective Status Cards. “Hmph, men will always be men huh? Even in the heroes’ world, there are those kinds of men and that kind of man….” The female spy uttered silently as she watched Kyoushiro grandly took down Ren and Toru; two of the highest level heroes among the class 1 – C. Kyoushiro not only displayed strength behind numbers, he also showed the superiority as an individual even though his opponents were strong. Even if they were greenhorns that were still starting to learn how to control their powers, Kyoushiro still showed that he can take down his opponents even if he was branded as weak. The female rabbitmen spy smiled haughtily as she thought of Kyoushiro as a person worthy of praise. Also, she thought that he was sort of cool when she saw him turn his back after leaving a threat behind. “Well that aside, those guys are not even worth our time. I guess I should report to his Majesty that the heroes were not noteworthy and come back for home for now” As she said so, the female rabbitmen jumped off from the tree branch while maintaining the skill Light Disruption> active. Her light boots soundlessly land on the soft ground and made a short walk away from the path that ordinary knights used to get to the training ground to get to the breach on the walls that surrounds the castle and leave there. However, before she even did that, her skill Presence Detect> caught someone walking towards her direction. Her senses told her to hide immediately and let the person pass for now. As an expert in stealth, unnecessary killing would only bring forth problem in the end. But the person that she had detected was someone that she did not expect. It was none other than the young man who brought down two heroes just a while ago without breaking any sweat. The female rabbitmen spy immediately hid above another branch and used her skill Hide Presence> to conceal herself from the senses of ordinary people. A minute later, the figure of Kyoushiro emerged from the gaps of the leaves, making his way to the open space inside the small forest inside the training ground walls. “Fuu….. It’s a good thing that I left there if not, might have to fight the third one, which would be more problematic than the first two” {Kyoushiro} While breathing out his relief, Kyoushiro leaned on a tree trunk with a tired look on his face. His right hand was trembling while his face was ghastly pale. It was something that unexpected to someone that fought a level 50 Dark Mage and a Level 50 Grappler. The truth was that, Kyoushiro executed his skill on the spot when Toru charged towards him. The skill Conversion> was used to convert the moving energy or Kinetic Energy Toru made as he ran into Potential Energy to stop him from moving. Executing a skill in that blink of an eye moment was the limit of Kyoushiro’s body. Even how he diverted the force to stop Ren from finishing his chant was too much on Kyoushiro’s body. That was why; the instantaneous reaction Kyoushiro made at that time took a toll on his strength and sapped half of his current Magic power. Kyoushiro sighed as he closed his eyes and calmed his tense nerves. “Hmm…. If that process can be made, then it’s possible to do that isn’t?” {Kyoushiro} In that moment, Kyoushiro started to whisper something under his breath. The ears of the female rabbitmen spy perked up as she felt interested in what the young hero was saying. Sadly, the voice he was making was broken as he cut his words shortly before giving out the important parts of his ideas. Something was wrong, the female rabbitmen spy felt something like that as she saw Kyoushiro stand on his two feet and walked towards the tree that the female rabbitmen spy was hiding in. Kyoushiro placed his hand on the tree’s trunk, closed his eyes and concentrate. The power of Conversion was pretty simple. Just as the name says, it converts anything into anything. Kyoushiro immediately understood this as he used it to convert kinetic energy of a moving person to Potential energy to make him stop. That means that if energy can be converted just like that, then so does the three states of matter. Solid state, liquid state and gaseous state, the three state of matter and if plasma was included, there would be for. Then, since the skill Conversion> converts anything to anything without problems, then wouldn’t it be possible to convert a solid state object in to liquid state and solid state to gas state? Kyoushiro was interested. If the power of conversion was truly as skill that converts energy to energy, then converting matter to matter would be possible as well. On the tree he placed his hands on, Kyoushiro would use his Conversion> skill to convert the solid state of the tree into a gas state that happens when the whole tree was burned. Fire burns and water cools it. When burned, ashes turned to dirt and when water evaporates it turns into gas and is some sort of accumulation of air. Now, the tree would turn into gas. The final state when it burns….. “Conversion>” {Kyoushiro} And in that single word, a whole new Demon king was in the making…. Part 2 The night of that day, the room Kyoushiro was occupying was being used by two people. The first one was Kyoushiro and the other was the female rabbitmen spy. After Kyoushiro used his skill Conversion> on the tree that the female rabbitmen spy was hiding on the tree turned to smoke instantly and the female rabbitmen spy fell on top of Kyoushiro, which hurt his back in the process. The two of them were knocked out unconscious upon impact and mana exhaustion. As a result, it was dark by the time the two woke up. Of course, waking up inside a dark forest was bad so when Kyoushiro woke up, he brought the female rabbitmen spy into his room while avoiding the patrol routes of the guards in the castle, as a result, the two stayed inside a single room with the doors and windows shut. Even the candle lights were not lit and so the whole room was completely dark. It was bad situations where a man and woman were staying inside a room alone in the dark. Especially for a young man in his pubescent period, Kyoushiro was fighting the angel and devil in his mind for about an hour and a half now. When Kyoushiro brought the female rabbitmen spy in his room, she was still asleep. The crash might have been too strong for her that she still had yet to recover her consciousness. Because Kyoushiro was wary of the person in question, he took off the mask that was hiding the female rabbitmen spy’s beautiful face. Long eyelashes of silvery blonde like her long hair and fluffy ears. Her youthful face that seemed no younger than 16 were attractive to the eyes of the person that seen such beauty. Her large breast hidden under her tight kunoichi clothes along with her tight waist and wide hips were truly artful as it was alluring to the eyes of the beholder. Even her sweet and cute moans as she sleeps were music to one’s ears if they were a fan of classic music like the symphonies of Mozart and Chopin. This is really a bad idea…. Kyoushiro thought as he sat on the chair next to his desk as he watched the female rabbitmen spy sleeping on his bed. Actually, Kyoushiro already removed all the weapons hidden inside the clothes of the female rabbitmen spy. Kunais, shurikens, smokebombs, knives, daggers, poison darts and such were properly placed on the desk behind Kyoushiro. It was evidence that the female rabbitmen spy was no friend at all. Looking at it closely, even Kyoushiro’s actions were questionable. After all, keeping a spy inside his lodgings was a breach in the laws of Aravel. Kyoushiro would be punished if he was discovered. Anyways, the situation was something unexpected and Kyoushiro was still trying to think of something on how to deal with his current problem. “For the time being, I’ll keep her here for now. If she did something violent, I’ll turn her in…” {Kyoushiro} As Kyoushiro decided to keep the rabbit girl for now, he stare at the outside where the bright sun light from the rising sun was warming up the whole land, lighting up the dark sky with it warm sunlight. It seems that morning came before Kyoushiro even noticed. Leaving aside the fact that he slept outside yesterday, he has yet to sleep properly ever since yesterday’s fight. Although it can’t be seen by far, Kyoushiro was really tired just by looking. Dark circles around his eyes while his face was slightly pale. Surely enough, he was tired; not just from mana exhaustion but also from the fact that he was worrying about how he should proceed right now. With both side of his brain working tirelessly from assessing his situation, Kyoushiro closed his eyes letting the sense of slumber take his consciousness. Just as Kyoushiro closed his eyes, the crimson eyes behind those white lids regained its life. Looking around Kyoushiro’s with a bewildered face, the female rabbitmen spy restlessly swung her head left and right as she searched the whole room with her crimson eyes. Her fluffy rabbit ears on her white head plopped dejectedly as it realized that she was in a room, different from the forest she was supposed to hide in. Just where am I?—she asked; looking around the simple decorated room that held only two book shelves a bed and some drawers. There was nothing suspicious. However, it was currently a bright morning right now. Was she knocked out that she didn’t realize that she was brought to a mysterious room? The female rabbitmen spy sighed as she tugged her arms that were bounded behind her like her legs below. That’s right; she was currently bounded by a rope with both her hands and feet tied by it. And the culprit was sleeping on a chair while leaning his back there like there was no dangerous person on the room. Behind that person, whose hair was pitched black, was her weapons that was supposed to be hidden in her kunoichi clothes. Did he strip her before tying her up? Actually, was that even possible? The weapons were supposed to be hidden by a special item given to her by the weapon specialist of the Black Rabbits professor Alumin. The special storage item that had the shape of a rabbit ear pin stuck on the female rabbitmen spy’s clothes was supposed to have stored her weapons. Even if one were to have been seen and taken, there should also some weapons left in the storage. However, not only the weapons were gone but the pin itself. It seems that Kyoushiro took it while mistaking it for some mind of rabbit accessory. The pin was on the desk where the other weapons are right now. “Tsk!! Damn this human, to think he dared to belittle someone as strong as me….” Although she was complaining, the female rabbitmen spy was actually glad that Kyoushiro was currently sleeping. She could just crawl towards him and disposed him there – was what she was thinking when she remembered how Kyoushiro easily turned the almost 50 year old tree to smoke. It was a feat the she had thought that the Demon king himself had come. Just the thought of that made her body froze. A human possessing similar power to that of a Demon king, a reincarnation of the wicked god Krashmnbekek, was something that she did not expect, It is news that was needed to spread and could not prolonged more. But in front of her was that human, she even remembered that he was the hero that took down the other two heroes that was on a higher level than him. If her suspicions were true then one wrong step would be her death. She did not want that, she is a spy that held information that could change the tide of battle between the Demon king and the heroes, no, the whole world and the wicked god. That was why, meeting her death here should not happen. For the success of the war she must survive at all cost!! “Nnn….huh? Wait, you’re awake already?” {Kyoushiro} Feeling a glare directed at his body, Kyoushiro woke up while the sense of drowsiness still lingered in his head. The hair that covered his right eye swayed and showed a vertical cut over his half-open right eye, but was instantly covered as he swayed his head to cover his right eye once more. Kyoushiro understood that the rabbit girl was glaring at him so he immediately stood up and to the bed and untied the girl without hesitation. Well, he was still in a half-awake state so his judgement was currently poor. “Sorry to tie you up but…..you can leave…if you…want…” {Kyoushiro} But Kyoushiro quickly surrendered on the hands of the sandman. His sleeping body fell on top of the female rabbitmen spy while removing the rope on her wrist. To that, he fell soundly asleep as he lay across the disarrayed bed. “E-Eh? W-What was that?” Bewildered, the female rabbitmen spy let out a wavering voice as she received Kyoushiro’s weight on her chest. Her cheeks became flushed due to the intense beating of her heart and also the confusion she was currently having. Was this guy awake or not? Was he stupid or not? Was he playing games or not? The female rabbitmen spy held such question as her large chest was being used as a pillow by the sleeping Kyoushiro. He was not armed nor did he hesitate in removing her bindings. It was an action that shocked her greatly. Even the thought of escaping disappeared from her mind. In this situation where she could kill Kyoushiro instantly with her bare hands, she let her body taste the warmth of the breath made by the sleeping Kyoushiro as she watched him soundly on her breast. …….. The next day, there was news about a large hole found in the defense wall of the castle, it held a size of one meter and was done using only normal equipment that had no magical property bestowed on it. It was theorized that the infiltrator used the time of the festivities to burrow through the wall and entered the training grounds. The spy was most likely inside the castle by now. This news was not spread to the heroes or to the chamberlains that was roaming around the castle, taking care of its items and wares. Also, the lower ranking knights as well as the middle class knights were made to patrol the whole castle in order to search for the spy. King Solomon gave this immediate order and with that, the peaceful air around the castle became strained. As for the heroes that weren’t informed, they were still attending the training regimen that the second princess, Janne, had made for them. However, inside the running group of 24 individuals, they were one person short. Kyoushiro wasn’t currently present and was missing twice the time of the training that the heroes had been doing since yesterday. No, the other day it seems…. Inside Kyoushiro’s room, the sound of slumber made by two people bounced off of its closed walls. Kyoushiro, who was sleeping top of a huge soft mound that had a scent of sweet berries and honey, woke up feeling his fatigued washed out from his body. “Huh? Wait….why am I…” {Kyoushiro} Sleeping on the bed? Kyoushiro asked this question as he felt the soft fabric of the bed and its enticing scent that entered his nose. But something was more different than that. Just what is this soft thing? Kyoushiro asked himself as he felt the soft sensation on his cheeks that had the lingering scent of berries and honey. Using his right hand, he pushed his body upward, pressing the large mound with his palm forcefully. Monyu~ it made such soft and cute sound effects when squeezed. Not only that, the dark fabric covering such mound somehow made Kyoushiro remembered something. But, before those memories even registered in his mind, a soft and alluring moan came from the person possessing the soft mounds. “Aahn~!?” “Whaaaaa!!!?” {Kyoushiro} Kyoushiro flung his back behind; causing him to slipped down from the bed and fell on the floor with a hard Thud sound. The bed sheet was dragged while the sleeping beauty on the bed fell on the opposite side. Looking closely, there was a dangerous, sharp looking knife left on the bed that fell on top of Kyoushiro’s chest. Luckily, the tip did not stabbed through and only fell on its base. That was close….. Kyoushiro breathe out his relief as he removed the knife from his chest. “Wai-!!! What just happened?!” After the commotion, it seems that the other side woke up as well. Kyoushiro saw the two ears of a rabbit standing tall as if it was endangered of sort. He even thought that it was quite cute but he immediately dismissed the idea as the lingering heat on the palm of his right hand had burned into his memories. I better not remembers this later… Is what he thought as he shook his head then stood up on his feet? “So? Before anything happens, tell me who you are and……no, just tell me who you are” {Kyoushiro} Remembering the things that happened since the other day, Kyoushiro cut his words and just asked who she was. It would be a problem if the girl were to notice what he had done just before she woke up. That would be problematic indeed…. “H-Huh? A-Ah….. I’m Alucia a rabbitmen…” {Alucia} The female rabbitmen spy named herself, Alucia, even under the confusion of what was going on? And what just happened? “A rabbitmen? Then you came from the Black Continent?” {Kyoushiro} Discerning Alucia’s existence, Kyoushiro made a bitter smile. The beast people are from the side of the Demon king; meaning that they are his enemies. Not only that, being at war they are an existence that Kyoushiro would and the other heroes would fight; meeting her like this was something that was unexpected. According to Kyoushiro’s memories before he lost consciousness in that small forest, he found Alucia falling from above when he tried to use his skill Conversion> to convert the solid state of a tree into a gaseous state that immediately dispersed due to the wind. That was how he met this lovely bunny girl… “Tell me, are you a spy that came from the Demon king’s army? {Kyoushiro} Kyoushiro asked this despite his hands were drenched in sweat. That was because in front of him was an expert in killing and is supposedly a high level opponent. Even if she looks bounded there was still a leeway for her to kill Kyoushiro with her weapons just behind her. Vigilance was necessary… Kyoushiro can’t let his guard down. “………” {Alucia} The girl though, was staring at Kyoushiro. Her crimson eyes were narrowed while most of her body was still under the bed. It looked a little silly but for some reason, Kyoushiro couldn’t laugh at it. Anyways, there was a long silence between the two. Was there something wrong? There was obviously that question but neither of them even spoke a word after that question. “Untie me…..” {Alucia} Then, Alucia’s voice broke their silence. “Huh?” {Kyoushiro} “I said untie…. Please… these restraints are too painfull” {Alucia} “Huh? Ah…. Oh sure….” {Kyoushiro} Alucia’s voice sounded pitiful so Kyoushiro unconsciously went to her side and untie her restraints. The ropes that bounded her were just ordinary ropes but the way it was tied was just too difficult to unravel. Kyoushiro’s fingers ached at each not he untied. “So? Why are you here? I mean in this kingdom…?” {Kyoushiro} It was plain obvious what was the purpose but confirming it from the person herself would be far better than making an assumption. “I am here to observe the movements of the heroes and report back to my superior” {Alucia} Unexpectedly, Alucia did not hesitate to answer. With her hands unbounded, Alucia caress her wrist as stood vigilantly, watching Kyoushiro’s every movement. Those crimson eyes of hers….. Felt somehow wavering at the moment. “Is that so…” {Kyoushiro} Kyoushiro could only say that much after thinking about the contents of her words. Although Kyoushiro was not sure, there was a definite reason for the Demon Army to send a spy to observe the movements of the heroes. They are beings with power equaling that of the Demon king after all, that enough was all the reason that can be seen. Kyoushiro was not so short minded to not notice that. And so, after confirming that, Kyoushiro let out a breath as all his tension suddenly left his body. Kyoushiro sat on the bed after feeling that there was no danger to his life. His gaze was then moved towards his right side, to where Alucia was standing. “I won’t fight you nor will I expose you to the officials of this place so rest assured. Also, since you don’t have a place to stay after I’ve seen you, you can stay here for now” {Kyoushiro} There was no use in making an enemy out of someone that can take you out while you sleep. It was best to have a temporary truce in order that there won’t be unnecessary trouble. Hearing that, Alucia’s shoulders relaxed and took her seat as well. But just to make sure, she sat on the chair near the desk. As for her weapons, she quickly gathered it and placed it inside her storage item. “Can I really trust you on that?” {Alucia} “Yeah, so don’t worry. We both don’t want a fight where we both would lose rather than gain” {Kyoushiro} If word got out that Kyoushiro was keeping a member of the Demon king’s army, he would surely face punishment for it. He would get away from it to some degree but the kingdom would not trust someone that sided with the Demon king’s spy. However, Alucia would surely never leave this place alive. She will most likely die from torture after extracting information from her regarding the Black Continent. Kyoushiro would live but Alucia would die a criminal. Although Kyoushiro might live, he might get kicked out of the palace and be branded as a traitor among all the heroes. That would surely happen. As such, Kyoushiro would like to avoid an outcome like that as much as possible. Knock – Knock The door suddenly exuded such sound, making the two jumped from their seats. Shit!! I forgot the whole training thing!! Instantly, Kyoushiro remembered that he did not attend yesterday’s and the other day’s training so probably some of his classmates came to call him out. Judging from the sun’s position outside the window, it was probably half passed 8. The training was six so he was already 2 hours late. But currently was not a good time. With a spy hiding in his room, Kyoushiro couldn’t possibly be calm and open the door like this!! “Ah, excuse us be we are the patrol guards. We were instructed to search every room in this building to check if everything was right in order” It was way worse than he had expected!! Kyoushiro was nervously standing just 50 centimeters away from the door. Alucia though, took the initiative to hide under the bed. After seeing that everything was alright, Kyoushiro opened the door. “Ah, we’re sorry to disturb you but can we please inspect your room Hero-dono?” Ah man, probably in his thirties was just outside the door. Behind him was a set of knights wearing silver armors like the one speaking to Kyoushiro right now. They are middle rank knights that were tasked to patrol the castle perimeters to ensure the safety of the people inside. Kyoushiro had seen them once when the whole group was escorted to the throne room in their first day. Unfortunately, he doesn’t know any of their names…. “Ah... No its fine. I was just reading a book you see…. Ah right, please enter” {Kyoushiro} Just as Kyoushiro opened the door, the silver knights entered Kyoushiro’s room. They look around from the top of the shelves and inside the closet and drawers; they even looked outside the window to see if there was someone outside but ended up not finding anything. Then as they looked under the bed, Kyoushiro felt his cheeks cramped as that was the place Alucia was hiding in. However, as the person that looked under the bed shook his head left and right, Kyoushiro finally felt relieved. “Hmm… Everything seems to be in order and there is nothing suspicious… Very well, thank you for your cooperation; we will be taking our leave then” “Ah, please wait. What is this search all about? Did something happen?” {Kyoushiro} Just as the middle age knight was about to leave, Kyoushiro stopped him asked what was wrong. Sadly, the knight turned his head away, leaving the words ‘It is classified’ before leaving completely. Although that was weird, Kyoushiro thought nothing of it and simply closed the door and sighed. It was a roller coaster ride that got Kyoushiro’s heart thumping like crazy. It seems that the search was related to Alucia. Seeing as Alucia was able to enter the castle walls, they might have seen an entrance so it was quickly investigated and now the search for her was turned into a secret from the heroes. I guess unnecessary worries should not involve the heroes huh? Kyoushiro thought so as he sat on the bed, noticing that Alucia reappeared once again. “Hey, they were looking for you…” {Kyoushiro} “I guess so…. I don’t have time; I need to live this place quickly” {Alucia} Alucia felt anxious since she almost got discovered earlier. “Yeah, and I really don’t want some fugitive hiding in my room” {Kyoushiro} Feeling that the consequences of his actions will be severe, Kyoushiro gave a sigh. “Anyway, it’s best to hide for the time being and wait till they give up on their search. Just stay here for now and leave once everything is settled. Our lives will definitely be endangered once you are discovered” {Kyoushiro} “I know…..” {Alucia} Although that was the problem, the two was reluctant to leave their backs to each other. After all the two were enemies and will then face each other eventually in the battlefield one day. There was no assurance which one of them will betray first. As such, Kyoushiro and Alucia were anxious. Which will be the enemy and which will be ally? As these two’s fate finally crossed, what will now happen in their future?
