Nag Hammadi Library
The Nag Hammadi Library was thirteen leather-bound books from the first century A.D. The books are called “codices” and contain over fifty texts. They were discovered in Egypt in 1945. Included in these texts are once thought to be lost texts of the apostles Thomas and Phillip. The translation was completed in the 1970’s. I was able to handle some pages of the Nag Hammadi Library where they were being translated while in California in the late 1980’s.
