BECAUSE SHE had slept earlier, sleep didn’t come to Sianna right away. From lying down, she pushed herself up again. Eliezer, who was lying beside her and still awake, followed her with his gaze. “Can’t sleep?” he asked. Sianna shook her head. “No.” “Come on. Let’s go to the kitchen.” She looked at him. Eliezer had already gotten up from the bed and stepped down. “What are we going to do in the kitchen?” she asked, confused. She was pretty sure the household staff were already asleep at that hour. “Just come with me,” Eliezer said, walking over to her and helping her down from the bed.
