I opened my eyes to my hand tied to a plastic chair I was back to phase one. my mom was yelling at the guard who had hit an iron rod at the back of my head even though the guard kept begging profusely. my mom dismissed the guard and turned to me the usual warmth in her eyes dispersed and she looked at me with a calculating gaze the one I only noticed during long business meetings.

My mom stated calmly "I'm not asking for your opinion on this marriage you are doing this either u want it or not I don't get why you pulled that stunt after every sacrifices me and ur dad made for you girls it's not as if this marriage alliance is causing harm to you girls I just ask you guys just for once choose us over yourself stop being selfish "
