THIRD POV.
A knock sounded on the bedroom door as Zarina was getting ready for her mating ceremony, and she paused, turning to the door with a huge smile on her face.
"Who's there? Lucien?" Zarina called, thinking it might be her lover and soon-to-be mate coming to check on her before their big night. The silence that followed, however, had her frowning as she got up, grabbing her robe from the bed and throwing it on before walking over to the door.
As Zarina pulled open her bedroom door, she found herself face to face with Gunner, the former beta of the Black Creepers and also her soon-to-be godfather-in-law.
