LYANNA'S POV I gasped, my eyes tearing up when I felt the light of the day creeping into the room. I knew that wasn't just what woke me up from sleep. There was something else, I felt like someone touched me. Jolting to sit up, I saw Xander cleaning my wound. "What are you doing?" I said to him with my forehead wrinkling as though he was commiting a crime by touching my wound while I was still asleep. He slowly pushed my back down so I could rest on the bed and give him more access to be able to clean up the wound. He totally ignored my question as though he was dumb and couldn't talk. Well, I saw he was only cleaning my wound and wasn't up to something else, but the fact that he wasn't responding to me made me feel stupid. "Hey, stop touching me if you won't talk to me," I said to him, pushing his hands off my wound and he just kept cleaning. "Hey, I'm talking to you, whatever your name is, I don't need your help in healing, besides I just figured the only thing you keep doing is cleaning my wound..." "You lied to me that it could be healed, whereas everyone knows that a wound caused by that dagger can not be healed. Why did you have to lie to me?" I shouted at him, realizing he had nothing else to do to cure me. "Men, that's why I promised never to trust one ever again, you all are just so unpredictable and I should never have trusted you," I said. Although, I didn't know what he wanted me there for. If he couldn't do anything to heal me, why would he lie just so I could stay there with him? "Oh.. I see, you're lonely, right? You choose to live in isolation and now you want company, that's why you lied to me right?" I said, feeling hurt for being lied to again. Everything reminded me of the scar that Lucian left in my heart, paying me back for how much I loved and trusted him. Now, there's this stranger who thinks I'm foolish and wants to keep me here as a companion by tricking me and making me believe he could heal my wound. With all I was saying, he was just right there, staring at my wound, fully focused on cleaning it. I flinched when he touched the opening of the wound, and stretched it open. "Ahhh... It hurts, what are you doing?" I yelled at him as he continued to spread the wound. I had no idea of what he was trying to do but all I knew was that the pain was excruciating and I wanted him to stop. I grabbed his hand, trying to pull it off the wound, but he was strong and I couldn't. All this time he had refused to say a word to me. Suddenly, he bit his own palm and blushed gushed out. My mouth fell open in shock as I wondered if I had stepped into the same room with an animal — a wild animal. "Are you crazy, why did you do that?!" I said, feeling his pain on behalf of him, while he just wore an indifferent look on his face as though he didn't feel pain. As I watched in astonishment, Xander brought his bleeding palm near the opening of my wound, which he had now stretched. Slowly, he let his blood drip from his palm into my open wound. I gasped as I saw the miraculous transformation begin. To my shock, I watched with my mouth wide open as my wound instantly began to heal and seal up right before my eyes. In a matter of seconds, the gaping wound that had caused me so much pain and discomfort was now closing, the torn skin knitting together as if it had never been injured. "What tha...?" I muttered, the only words that could come out of my mouth then as the shock was too much to contain. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. The pain was fading away, replaced by a sense of relief and awe. Xander withdrew his hand, his bleeding palm now starting to heal as well. He looked at me calmly, as if to say, "See, I told you I could help." But he didn't say a word, he just left me sitting on the bed wondering if I was dreaming or it was actually happening. I knew since I was very young that Ereden dagger was only meant to slowly kill as the blade was made of silver and and injury cuased by it could never heal. It was something that even the elders knew, not just in our pack but other packs. I could only nod, still processing the incredible healing that had just taken place. "H-How did... How did you do that?" I exclaimed, the question slipping out before I could stop myself. He remained silent, still on one knee in front of the bed where I sat. He knelt before me, breathing heavily, the exhaustion was showing clearly in every line of his body. Sweat glistened on his brow. I suddenly saw a flash of green light emanating from within his eyes. It was a magical sight, almost otherworldly, as if a piece of magic had touched him. But as quickly as it appeared, the glow began to fade, until it was gone. My eyes lit up in curiosity. He met my gaze, and I saw the exhaustion in his eyes. It seemed like he used all his strength in healing me. With the task completed, the toll of his efforts was visible, leaving him spent and drained. "Who are you?" I asked, my curiosity and confusion taking a better part of me. That was when he rose to his feet and stood straight in front of me. I couldn't help but wonder if he was always this arrogant, blanking all my questions without a single response. "Hey," I said, calling out to him just as he turned away from me and was about to walk out, and he turned back to me and paused in his tracks. "You're not replying to my questions, yet you just hurt yourself to heal me and saved me from dying," I pointed out, feeling frustrated. I was still amazed by what he had just done, and I wanted him to say something. He let out a sigh, his expression showed how indifferent he was about my question. "I promised I would act dumb, remember? That was what you asked for – that I never try to speak to you while you are here," he reminded me, referring to our agreement from the night before. Listening to him, my cheek turned red in embarasment as I looked away for a moment. I couldn't help but feel embarrassed for speaking to him first, after rudely telling him not to speak to me. "Well, I still wouldn't want you to talk to me about anything else, I only asked a question because I wanted to know who you are and where you got that power to heal me," I said, and then he sighed. "Well, none of that would be necessary now, would it?" He said, finally speaking up but what he said had nothing to do with the answers I sought. "Let me be the judge of that, I have a reason for asking, so would you tell me how y-you just did that?" I said, my voice almost pleading as I became desperate to know. "No... I guess you were right about what you earlier said. We are total strangers, you don't know me and I don't even know your name so I guess we should keep it that way to make sure everyone is comfortable," he said, about to turn around again to walk through the door. "Lyanna!" I said, raising my voice a little so that he could hear me from where he was walking towards the door, and he froze. "That's my name, my name is Lyanna," I said to him, realizing that they was no harm in telling him my name. He slowly turned around and nodded calmly, and then I gulped as I saw he had something else to say. "All right, Lyanna..." "It was nice meeting you and getting to heal you, since you're strong now, you may want to start your journey," he said, and my brows met. "Journey??" I asked, unable to understand what he meant at that moment. "I mean you can leave my house now, since you are healed and can go back down the mountain," he said to me in an indifferent manner an my mouth dropped as I was taken aback by his reply.
