Chapter Three Rebels and RefellsThe castle soldiers marched them through the mountain streets of the city toward the fortified castle at the top. Shouts came from the towers above to open the gate of the giant stone building. To the clanking of chains, a great iron gate retracted just high enough to allow them to walk through. Ahead of them, two huge timber doors swung open. The five captives continued to follow, sandwiched between the captain and two castle soldiers, with more soldiers behind them. They were funnelled through the long, stone-walled area of the gatehouse and into the courtyard and followed the captain across the courtyard toward a small timber door.
