Then the rain began to fall and they sloshed, slipped, and skidded on the stone pathways as they moved through the city. When they heard voices they stopped, leaning against the walls in the shadows so they wouldn’t be seen by the castle soldiers. Impelo looked around the corner. The street was now empty.
