Afterword
I have no regrets.
Ours was the relationship of a lifetime, perhaps of many lifetimes. Carl Jung once said, “The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances: if there is any reaction, both are transformed.” I believe that happened with us; we were transformed by our shared experience. I cannot speak to your metamorphosis, of course.
I can tell you that I learned about simultaneous truths; because one thing is true does not necessarily mean that another thing is not true. I truly was addicted to you. But that does not mean that I didn’t genuinely love you in the purest sense of the word. Both things were and are true, my truth.
