She stepped towards him and Morakai stopped her, “what have you done?”         “I beat him like he had done to you little sister. Here,” He offered her his sword. “I will let you kill him.”         She took the black sword slowly, and then threw it as far across the bay as she could. She rushed to Dorban’s side, “Dorban. Wake up. It’s me, Mora, please you have to wake up.”         She used her short sword to cut his hands free, they slipped forward and he fell to his face in the floor. She knelt over him, slowly rolling him over onto his back, she cried at the cut and bruises covering his face and arms now. Tears dripped from her face as she held him close to her chest.         “Please Dorban, it’s Mora. You have to wake up. Don’t leave me.” She begged. She jumped when his hand curled into her dress, then tried to hold her closer.         “Mora? How did you get here? Where is here?” He mumbled hoarsely. He immediately broke into a coughing fit, rolling to his side as he held his bruised and broken ribs.         “Shhh, don’t worry about that. It is all right now.” She kissed his forehead and smoothed the hair away form the cut to it. “I thought I had lost you.”         “Never.” He demanded, and started coughing again.         “Amoran, I don’t understand all of this. After all he has done to you? You coddle him like a baby?” Morakai asked as he couldn’t believe the display of affection she was giving his enemy.         “He save my life Morakai, he kept me from killing myself because of what Avlar had done to me. Avlar is the one who beat me, and r***d me. Avlar is the one who said that I was nothing more than a nasty w***e. I love Dorban! You kill him you will have to kill me too.” She raged at her brother, never leaving Dorban’s side.         “NO!” Dorban demanded, he forced himself up off the floor amidst a coughing fit, still holding his ribs. “Touch her and I will kill you even if it kills me too.”         “Amoran, you don’t understand. If I don’t do it father will come to do it himself. He is convince that Dorban is guilty.” Morakai tried to reason with them.         “Guilty of what exactly?” Dorban wanted to know how he had earned the worst beating of his life. He waivered on his feet and Mora was there pulling his arm over her shoulder to hold him up.         “We were all told that you kidnapped her, and once you were able to force her to stay with you she was r***d repeatedly. I was sent because we were told you were planning to kill her and start a war with our kingdom.”         “I love your sister! My mother and I have kept her secrets. I am going to marry her because she shouldn’t have to carry a burden of shame the rest of her life. Time and life willing she will bear my children, I am only guilty of loving her.” Mora beamed proudly up at him in admiration.         “So what do I tell father?” Morakai shrugged, he was at a total loss now.         “You tell him the truth, he is wrong. I will prove it if I have to but I am NOT leaving Dorban’s side for anything, even him.” She held on to Dorban’s side even tighter.         “I wish I could stay, I have missed you fiercely.”         “So have I.” She ached to hug her brother but dare not let Dorban go or he may end up in the floor again.         “It may be good to have another assassin on my side for a few days, until I am better.” He hated to see her look so sad.         “Really?” The both asked in unison.         “Every time I am injured or sick there has been an attempt on my life. An extra set of eyes wouldn’t hurt to have around a while.” He started coughing again, nearly dragging Mora to the floor with him until Morakai slipped under his other arm.         “I do owe you for what I did to you. Can I stay Amoran?”         Dorban nodded yes, she smiled. “Yes Morakai he will let you stay.”         “Perfect, are there beautiful women here too?”         “Amar is very pretty.” She laughed at her brother’s wanton ways. They were quickly transported back to the castle.         “Who is Amar?” Both men asked in unison this time.         “You weren’t there for that were you? Well, your mother and I went for a walk down to the village. We were going through the market, a soldier was pawing a young woman. I stopped him and we brought her back to the palace. I decided to keep her as a personal servant.         “You’ve never needed a servant before.” Morakai quipped.         “She had no family, no home, absolutely nothing to go to. We weren’t going to leave her to get r***d or die on the street.”         “Can we just go back now?” Dorban whined as he started coughing again.         They were met by the Queen, Amar and General Bana. Bana stopped the Queen from rushing to her son, “That’s the man!” He held the Queen back and pointed at Morakai.         “Bana shut up, it’s all right.” Dorban groaned as he held his mother, nearly falling when his weight hit her.         “Are you hurt?” She felt of the cut on his forehead.         “A little but nothing serious. This is Mora’s brother Morakai.” He finally managed after catching his breath again.         “Your Highness,” Morakai took a step forward and bowed to her. “I beg your pardon. I was told that your son was the one who stole my sister and hurt her. I will do my very best to make up for what I have done to him.”         “I wish my youngest felt so strongly about his sibling. As long as no such things occur again I am glad you are here.”         “Thank you your Highness.” The Queen reached out to him, pulling him close in a loose hug and kissed his cheek. He looked back at Mora, this embrace was strange and foreign to him.         “Let’s get him to bed.” Mora took Dorban’s arm and put it back over her shoulder.         “I will fetch the doctor.” Amar gathered her skirt and turned to leave.         “Who are you?” Dorban asked.         “This is Amar, go on.” She motioned her on as they guided him on towards their room. He broke into a coughing fit as soon as he hit the bed. Morakai stepped back as Mora knelt next to the man he had tried to kill, had he succeeded she would have killed him in return.
