The sun was peeking out over the top of the palace as they entered it, rising to shine over his kingdom for the day. Servants greeted Dorban, and took his burdens to follow him to his room. When they reached to door he said, “fetch the doctor to treat the lady. Otherwise I DO NOT WANT TO BE DISTURBED.”
“Yes your highness. Do you or the lady require anything?”
He glanced down at her snuggled to his chest, she nodded no. “Send word to Avaris that as soon as she is rested she will need to be fitted for a new wardrobe.”
“Sleep well miss, Your highness.” The servant nodded, bowed slightly and left them alone. He kicked the door shut and turned so she could look over the room. He sat her on her feet and stood behind her, wrapping his arms around her chest, nuzzling her hair before resting his chin on top of her head.
“This is your new home, love. Our home.”
“I would admire it more if I weren’t so tired.” She yawned, she didn’t realize she was leaning back into him until he shifted his weight slightly. He sidled her up in to his arms easily and with just a few strides he was standing next to his bed. The instant the soft mattress caressed her backside she moaned in contentment.
“Are you going to sleep in your clothes little one?” He laughed as he helped her back out her clothes and dropped them into a small pile on the floor. He rested her head back against a pillow, swallowing the white pillow case with her wave of dark hair. He pulled the sheet and blanket up and kissed her forehead. As he rounded the end of the bed he grabbed the pile of her clothes and simply flung them into the roaring fireplace not far from the bed.
For the first time in days he stripped down and eased down into his bed. This contentment was different, it truly felt great to have the warm body of a woman sleeping next to him. He put his arms around her and kissed her silky soft hair
“Good night my little one.” He murmured to her as he too fell into a deep sleep.
Mora woke to the sun rising, she groaned as she sat up. It felt as if she had just went to sleep. There was a note lying next to her, it read: ‘I hated leaving you this morning but a day in bed is all I can manage. The doctor said you should make a full recovery. Avaris should be there soon. Signed, Dorban.’
She reached up and scratched her head and rummaged her tousled hair. She liked their room, She stopped at that thought. This was where she and Dorban would be together forever, where they would make love eventually.
As she sat there thinking the door opened and a strange man directed two women into the room with several trunks in tow. He didn’t seem to notice her clutching the blanket as he directed the two women to begin pulling things from the trunks and begin setting them up. He finally turned to her and with a hand on his hip said, “well come on.”
“Just who do you think you are?”
He gave a huge sigh and said, “I am Avaris, and if I am going to dress you I must get to work.”
“Oh,” she looked around for her clothes, “let me put something on first.”
“Are you n***d” He reached for the blanket and she pushed him back.
“YES!”
“Good. It is easier to start that way.” She didn’t move. “Let me put you at ease; I love men, not women.”
“I’m sorry. Before I met the Prince I had a bad experience being alone with a man in a bedroom that’s all.”
Slowly she rose from the shelter of the bed and let the blanket fall. She still tried shielding her crest with her hands. Avaris finally managed to stutter, “has the Prince seen you n***d?”
“He has." Mora swallowed hard and said, “I used to take pride in showing off my body. I would like to do that for the Prince again.”
“My lady I just hope my clothes will do your body justice. You have the best female body I have ever seen.”
“I haven’t felt like that for some time now.”
“Well lets see what we can do about that.” He brought her into the little office he had set up inside the room and his assistants started bringing out gorgeous fabrics. “The Prince helped choose these fabrics for you.”
She reached out and slowly ran her hand over a few of the bolts of fabric until she came to an absolutely beautiful bolt of white silk, “do you just make dresses?”
“What do you have in mind my lady?” Avaris asked, glancing between her and the silk in her hands.
“I would like a night gown, something that would make the Prince want to take it off?”
“Oh. One of those types of outfits.” Avaris nodded as he took the fabric from her. “Those are my specialty.”
“Dorban stop worrying. You said she was perfectly fine when you left her.” The Queen was trying to get him to stop pacing around, he finally stopped. He sighed as he ran his hand through his hair in frustration.
The Grande dining room was bustling with people, they were waiting on Mora just like he was. The entire room was abuzz as rumor circulated that he was going to announce his up coming wedding.
“I can not help it, mother.”
“The lady is now a fully rested beauty.” Avaris had her on his arm, “I just had to present her myself.”
Dorban was dumb struck, this almost wasn’t the same girl he rescued. This was a gorgeous, confident woman before him now. There was a split in the dark emerald material revealing her long legs and the first set of high heels he’d ever seen her in. The fabric was tight over body, bringing her chest to his full attention. She had pulled back her thick curls just enough to frame her face.
“Mora, you so breath taking.” He swallowed hard as he took her hands to hold them out and really look at her .
“I do love this color.” A sly smile curled her lips, “and the back is nice too.” She turned revealing a lean, bare back that ended just over the curve of her butt.
“It is very lovely, it suits you very well.” The Queen hugged her and kissed her cheek, “I am gad you are here.”
“I owe you a great deal your highness.” Mora bowed her head to the woman slightly out of respect, the smile on the woman’s face spoke of how happy she was.
“Think nothing of it my dear, I knew you would be happy with Dorban.”
“I am very happy with him,” Mora smiled up at him as his arm slid around her back, “he needed me as much as I needed him .”
His hand slipped down to her lower back as they walked from the doorway into the dining room. The simple contact of her bare skin on his warm palm sent a tingle up his arm and racing around his entire body. The outfit she was wearing was tormenting him, how he ached to be alone in their room together right now.
As they circulated through the crowd Dorban simply introduced her as Mora, and everyone accepted her as the object of his affection. They made it to the head of a table and the Queen handed them both a glass of wine.
“May I have everyone’s attention please?” Dorban’s loud voice silenced the entire room. “I have an announcement to make.”
“What are you doing?” Mora just knew what he was about to do.
“I will be getting married a few months from now. This woman will be my wife, Lady Mora!” He pulled her up alongside and whispered in her ear, “at least smile and wave.”
“I thought you were going to tell on me?” She whispered as she waved and smiled.
“I gave you my word,” he whispered near her ear.
“Give her a kiss my lord!” Someone yelled from the crowd.
He took her by the chin and kissed her short but longingly. The crowd erupted in hoots and hooras as they smiled at each other. The party started and he noticed Gore and Saven coming through the crowd.
“Dorban! Where did you find the…..,” Saven stopped when he got close enough to recognize her. “You! What do you think you are doing here?” He pointed his finger at her as he tried to stalk closer to her.
She didn’t have to shrink into Dorban, Dorban’s chest bowed out as he pushed his brother back. “Leave her alone Saven!”
“She’s mine!” He went to grab her arm and Dorban took a firm grip on his brother’s wrist.
“I will break it Saven, Just like I did when we were kids. You listen and listen good. I am warning you just once! Don’t let me catch you OR Gore bothering her or putting a hand on her. The heavens so help me I will KILL you if you do, understand?” The longer he talked the more Dorban started shaking in fury.
Saven didn’t answer right away so Dorban wrenched his wrist back. He screamed slightly in pain, “I got it!”
Dorban released him and pushed him away. Saven retreated through the crowd nursing his sore wrist, the crowd was blissfully unaware of what had just happened. Dorban pulled Mora close and kissed the top of her head.
“They shouldn’t bother you anymore.” He said confidently.
“I hope not.” Dorban poured them both more wine and she gladly took it. Dorban pulled out her chair and settled her back to the table, he turned and seated his mother as well before taking his seat between them.
The party went until well after dark and everyone had more than their fill of food and wine. Mora held tight to Dorban’s arm with her head resting on his shoulder as they walked lazily back to their room. When he opened the door Dorban was surprised, the new dresses and things were laying around in piles over every chair in the room.
“Did you and Avaris get along today?” He asked as he laughed at the obscene amount of clothing before him.
“We did, he made something specially for you, would you like to see it?”
“What do you mean?”
“I had him make something for me to wear for you to enjoy,” she paused, “and take off of me.”
“Oh.” He didn’t know what to say at first, “sure. If you want to.”
