Akila burst out laughing, "HA! Oh man, that’s rich!" He shook his head in disbelief, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "You really thought you had a shot with my girlfriend?" He pretended to wipe a tear of laughter from his cheek, clearly enjoying the moment. "That’s just adorable, dude."
“What did you just say?”
André finally got his act together, challenging Akila to respond. He might have still carried that scary, sadistic vibe, but at least his emotions weren’t spinning out of control anymore, and for that, I was grateful.
Akila strolled over to us, taking his time, “Well, that depends… are you deaf or just plain stupid?”
André looked genuinely shocked. “What?”
Akila nodded to himself as if he were making a mental note. “Stupid,” he confirmed, “Definitely stupid.”
