The boy next door

It was May Day and I’d just turned 21.. Me and Lilly was taking her kids out for day to the river not far from her home..
“You ready to go Lils” I asked
“Yh love.. I’m just waiting for someone”
“Humm who ya waiting for?”
“Wouldn’t you like to know”
“Well ya babe.. I would” I said while laughing
“We’re waiting for Dom”
“Who?”
“Ya know Dom”
“Nar babe.. I don’t” i went on to say.
Lilly was laughing her head off and then said
“Dom the lad from next door”
“Aww f**k no Lilly.. what ya planning??”
“Nothing” she said
“So why invite him?”
“Aww shut up and move ya arse.. you know you like him”
“That isn’t the point”
“It will be a laugh Rain”
And with that being said we set off to take the kids to the river.
We got to the river and Dom for a lad was really quite. He waited till we spoke to him until he spoke.. tbh he was a funny guy.. as the day went on we chatted more and all of us was having a good time..
It was getting time to head back but before we got back to Lilly’s we popped in shop for a few beers.. Dom decided to go home.. we was sat chilling when Lilly popped next door and would you believe it she only only brought Dom back round to hers and made sure he couldn’t sit any where but next to me.. it wasn’t a problem until she kept leaving us alone on purpose..
the drinks were flowing.. the atmosphere was good..
“You are beautiful” I heard Dom say
“I know I am.. but thank you for reminding me” I said.
Lilly was in stitches as she new I was joking.. I did tell him that after the strange look he gave me.
“I’d love for you to come and stay at my house tonight”
“Pardon.. really”
“Yh Rain I want to get to know you more.. just to talk nothing else, unless you want too”
“I will think about it” i said and he nodded
Dom had popped to shop for more beers and I told Lilly what he said
“Go for it.. what have you to lose Rain”
“I no I no” I said
“It’s just really fast tbh and could you really see us together”
“Look.. go round to talk to him and then come back here.. no harm came out of talking”
And she was right.. no harm in talking
“I will tell him when he comes back”
“That’s my girl” Lilly said to me.
Later that night me and Dom was sitting in his room having a chat.. talking about our family’s and up bringing and what we wanted out of life.. to my surprise he was very sensitive and had a brilliant sense of humour..
“ I know this is really forward Rain but would you like to go out with me.. I like you and tbh I think you like me too”
“I don’t know what to say”
“Please say yes.. I will never hurt you”
“It’s a risk tho as we hardly know each other”
I thought about it and I said yes along as we took things slow.. Dom was over the moon.. we said our good byes and I went back to Lilly’s.
A few weeks later it was a warm night and me, Dom and Lilly was sat in her garden having a few vodka’s.. me and Lilly was having a laugh and Dom wanted to go home.. he only lived next door..
“You coming to mine Rain”
“No love.. I’m staying at Lilly’s tonight”
He didn’t look best pleased but I said I’d stay at hers and so I was
“Well f**k you Rain.. you stay with ya f**king mate”
“Pardon.. who do you think your talking too”
“I’m f**king talking to you.. you b***h”
“Aww go sleep it off” i said and me and Lilly left him to it.
The next morning I woke up to loads of texts and missed calls.. I eventually messaged him back and he was apologetic and blamed the drink.
“If it happens again.. me and you are done.. there was no need for your out burst.. you maybe my boyfriend but you don’t own me”
“I’m sorry Rain it won’t happen again”
I knew I should of run for the hills but I didn’t I gave him another chance..
everything was running smoothly it didn’t happen again..
We’d been seeing each other for about 6 month and one morning I’d woke up and I was so Poorly.. couldn’t eat or drink.. my head felt like it had been bashed off a wall a million times.. I phoned the doctors and got an appointment for that day..
“Hi Rain.. what seems to be the problem?”
“I can’t eat or drink and my head is…”
She cut me off
“Can you pee on this stick please”
I went to the toilet and went back in the room.. the doctor took the stick and confirmed I was pregnant..
“Congratulations”
I was in shock but still thanked her.. Dom was over the moon..
About a week and half later I began to see a change in Dom’s behaviour..
“You alright babe”
“Yh Yh I’m good.. why you ask?”
“You just don’t seem yourself lately but as long as your good”
“I am babe”
7 months later I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl we was over the moon and I couldn’t be happier.. I never got a look in when Lilly was around but she was family so I don’t mind.. we had to move into Dom’s mam’s and that’s when everything changed.
