She quickly finished sending her emails, gathered the few things she hadn’t yet taken out to her car, slipped into her jacket and stood. Darren was still staring at her, so she strode across the studio, and ushered him out the door, locking it behind them. Gently pressing her lips to his cheek, she murmured, “Goodbye, Darren.” As she walked by Darren’s car, she spotted Leslie in the passenger seat. Skye lifted her hand in acknowledgement, and the woman warily returned the greeting. She momentarily considered warning her ex-husband’s mistress about him, an urge prompted by an inexplicable gratitude to Leslie for giving her the reason to leave him, but decided it was none of her business.
