The argument started over something trivial that night — a dinner with a client and friend from my university days. A man Zayne deemed ‘unnecessary’ to my current life. “It’s just an hour, Zayne. And I am not going to catch up. It’s for my company.” Maintaining a controlled smile, I was setting his tie. My expressions were soft while he was getting ready for work. “He can help me. He has data on the new synthetics I am looking for. It's for my company, Zayne.” Zayne tried to maintain a smile which was fading by each passing second, he was losing patience with me. He caught my wrists, bringing them to his lips for a soft kiss. “Sweetheart. I’ve already told you, my team can get it for you. You certainly have better things to do, don’t you?” He tried to reason as gently as possible.
