Matteo had called several times asking to discuss the court. What was the point? Apart from the glitch on the first day, nothing had happened so far that seemed challenging, and with my experience, what could he add? Today he called, and the new Sarah just mentioned it rather than push me to return his call. Without her pressure, I felt more inclined to do so. At least I could be courteous.
“Sarah, call Matteo back.”
Matteo appeared on the Holo in his office, without ornamentation. I liked this lack of affectation, and it gave me a sense of him that I had previously missed. He seemed more old-fashioned and solid. And he didn’t have one of those awful kumadori.
