Alexis looked at the man in front of her and gave out a forced laugh. The man looked confused and could only wonder who this lady came to look for at his place. After she was done with her laughter,she settled down,moved closer to the man standing in the doorway and pulled up a serious expression.

"sorry for my rudeness earlier, what's your name?"

"Elijah and you are?"

"I'm Alexis, and my boyfriend, Jaden lives here"

"maybe he did. But I moved in here two days ago, didn't even see the previous resident."

Was this a prank or what? if it was then it really wasn't funny at the moment. All she wanted to do now was just melt into Jaden's arms and inhale his musky scent. But where the hell was he?

"so uhh....do you have a picture you can show me?" Elijah asked, bringing her out from her thoughts. Unfortunately she didn't have her phone with her, neither did she even have any hard copy picture available.

"no, my phone's at the repairs and I don't have a spare copy" she shook her head looking dejected.

"well I'm sorry I can't help you" Elijah said and before she could react he slammed his door shut like he had been trying to get away from her all the while. Now she could only stare at the door that was in front of her dejectedly. Where the hell could he be? She didn't even have her phone with her to reach him. Or could this Elijah person be lying to her? was he trying to hide Jason from him? Without a second thought she banged angrily on the door and as soon as the door opened,she forced herself in.

"what the hell do you think you're doing?!" Elijah sounded behind her. Meanwhile the apartment which was supposed to be Jaden's looked completely different. There was none of his art painting on the wall,her picture was no longer at the window side, even the furniture had changed.

Still refusing to give up she called out his name, walking straight into the bedroom. But before she could step in she was dragged back forcefully by Elijah.

"you think you can just barge into someone's house like that? what's your problem?!" this time he couldn't contain his anger. What exactly was wrong with this woman. Even with the look on his face,Alexis paid him little to no attention and still kept on calling out

"Jaden!!if it's a prank you can stop now! it's really not funny anymore!" saying that she yanked her hand from him forcefully and rushed into the bedroom.

"ahhhh!!!!" the scream came from the bed. Her eyes caught the lady lying naked on the bed frantically trying to cover herself up with the sheets.

Before she could even process her thoughts,Elijah yanked her arm and pulled her out to the front door.

"The next time I see you here or anywhere next to me I'll call the police! Crazy woman" with that he slammed the door in her face. She could hear him turning the locks from inside. Now she was sure she had definitely made a mistake. She looked down at her watch,it was half past ten, already really late.

With no other choice she went back to where her car was parked and once she got in she let out a pained scream. It sounded like she was holding it in for too long. Where could she find him? the only place left now was his workplace,at Skyline Enterprises where he worked as a financial assistant. But they would have closed hours ago,she would make sure to go the next day. Giving out a tired sigh she drove back home,walked straight to her bed and began recalling about the strange case scenario today. She had it in mind to pick up her phone first thing the next day and with that she drifted off to sleep.

The next morning when Alexis woke up, she quickly made breakfast,took her bath, got dressed and made her way to Jaden's workplace, Skyline Enterprises. They specialized in buying, selling and building companies,and Jaden worked as a financial assistant and project manager in the company. She stopped by to pick up her phone at the repairs and made payments,the phone looked as good as new. She settled down in her car first and turned her phone on.The first thing she was expecting to see was Her lock screen picture of her and Jaden smiling at the camera,but what she saw in stead was a picture of just her. Baffled, she unlocked the phone and rushed to her contact list. Jaden was always on her favorites,infact he was the only one on her favorite contact list but his number wasn't there. She frantically searched for his number, dialing the number she knew of heart on repeat but the same "hello there,the number you're trying to call does not exist" kept coming back. With her face red in anger she angrily stormed back into the repair shop again. The man standing behind the counter looked at her with a smile

"ah miss,did you want something?"

"did you flash my phone?!" she had barely allowed him to land with his question before asking hers. The man who was used to this kind of customers only gave a small chuckle

" no ma'am,I didn't flash your phone because you didn't ask me to. but if you want me to I could right now,free of charge" he said with a smile,taking no offense with the way she had spoken to him. Embarrassed,she shook her head and apologized,then left the store and entered her car. She opened her phone again and checked her gallery. Atleast she should have his picture if she wanted to ask of him at his workplace, but she couldn't find any. She searched and searched..... at this point she felt she was being targeted or watched by someone. Because why in the world couldn't she find a picture of her boyfriend,not even one!

With no time to spare,she turned on her engine and headed straight to Skyline Enterprises. The speed at which she drove was enough to earn her a speeding ticket. She got there in a nick of time and parked in the visitors parking lot. She had been there a lot to pick Jaden up from work sometimes when he was too tired to drive or when he was working late.

Looking at her casual outfit,she doubt if anyone's would even give her a listening ear or even take her seriously. But at this point she was too anxious to go back or think of anything else. As she walked to the entrance,the security guards standing at the front of the building stepped in front of the door, blocking her way in. They both looked at her from head to toe,they both thought she must be one of those wanderers trying to steal something from their company.

"I'm sorry but I'm trying to look for someone who works here" she told them. She knew it was because of her outfit that's why they refused for her to enter,but she atleast had to try to enter to ask some people who might know him. Or better still he might even be right inside.

"ma'am do you work here?or do you have an appointment?" the bulky one asked,his voice rough and rude

"no. I don't work here neither do I have an appointment, but I want to book one" she changed her motives. She knew they wouldn't let her pass if she simply said she was looking for someone.

"Ohkay.....do you have any ID?"

"yes I do" she brought out her work ID from her pocket and handed it over to him. He looked carefully at it, inspecting it to make sure she wasn't a fraud and handed it back to her

"hmm,you look a bit too young to be working at Golden Expectations" his voice was no longer rude as he voiced out his words,and with that they let her in.

Inside,she headed to the receptionist, and after showing her ID,she stated her reason for coming

"I'm looking for someone,your financial assistant and project manager,Jaden Newman" she said and the receptionist was a bit skeptical. Although Alexis had never been into this company before,she knew she wasn't supposed to be dressed as casual as she was now. But she just couldn't think straight enough in the morning to remember.

After typing some keys into the computer,the receptionist looked at her apolitically

"miss, there's no one with the name Jaden Newman here, but there is Jaden Copey" confused Alexis looked at the screen,the picture of the 'Jaden Copey' wasn't who she was looking for. "that not him. okay How about your financial assistant and project manager?can I see him?" she asked

"Jaden Copey is our Financial assistant and project manager"

With that answer her heart instantly dropped. But,that wasn't her Jaden,that was someone else.
