A Table Full Of The Wounded

-Hunters Cabin- Charlie's pov: Starring at the cracked ceiling is all I could do. This unspeakable pain has left me paralyzed since the moment I awakened. The pain that I mention is not physical, it's all inside. How could I be so weak, so cowardly? I make myself sick. I should've died back there, I should've - "Oh my God, are you crying?" Said a stunned voice. "Not talking huh? Well, I'll say something, it stinks in here. I recommend you warm up some snow or something and freshen yourself up... Oh, and I brought you some soup. All we have here are potatoes and carrots. I hope they're your favorites we will be eating them for a while." I sit up in my bed and my eyes are met by a brown-haired girl with gray eyes and olive skin. "Who are you?" I said in a poor voice. She smiles at me. "I'm Ruth, I was a part of the hunting group." She lifts her shirt just enough to reveal a bandage wrapped around the stomach. "Another member fell into me knocking me down, it saved my life though. That wolf lady was ready to rip out my guts but the fall distanced me enough, leaving me with only a gash." Ruth stares. "What happened to your face? It looks gross and cool at the same time." I roll my eyes before falling back into bed groaning. "I don't wanna talk about it." Ruth scuffed. "Alright, whatever you say. Feel free to join us when you start to miss a bit of human company. Honestly, I don't believe we're gonna get along all that well." She said closing the door behind her. I could still hear her rambling on. After being interrupted from my thoughts I was unable to get back to them. Although I found Ruth annoying already, she was all that I could think about. Maybe I DO need human interaction. I slowly lift myself off of the bed before taking a deep breath and walking towards the door. The door led straight into the kitchen, next to the kitchen there was a room with a table that had five seats filled with wounded people. "Holy s**t! His face is cool and gross!" one of them said. "Dude shut up you're making my ears hurt." Another complained. Ruth giggled before removing herself from her seat and offering it to me. "Here come sit. I prefer standing up anyway." She was sitting between a girl, probably in her late teens, and a guy, possibly in his early twenties. They both looked to be lost in thought from battle last week. Their eyes were wide and lost in memory. To be honest it made me uncomfortable, a nauseous feeling. The guy who commented before arose from his chair and made his way toward me. He then glances over at the table before whispering. "Don't worry man, it's worse than you think. The guy's name is Collin and the girl is Amanda. When Collin thought he wasn't gonna make it he told Amanda that he wasn't in love with her anymore and couldn't die with that lie. Well uh.. as you can see, neither of them died so now he has to live the rest of his life with that guilt." "Shut the hell up, Darian!" Collin throws a cup and it just barely misses him. "No! You shut up, Collin! How could you just pretend you love me?! It takes a special kind of person to just-" "Both of you shut up! I already said my ears hurt! Now I'm getting a headache.." Ruth intervenes. She holds up the chair just above her head. "Quiet, all of you! I'm not afraid to get messy! Sammy, go outside, the sound of nature is sweet to the ears it should help. Darian, stop gossiping about relationships until you get one of your own. Collin, I guess all I can say is at least you didn't drag the lie to death, I'm proud of you. Amanda, I think you can do better anyway. Gross face, come sit on the f*****g chair!" Ruth slams the Chair back onto the floor and steps away for me to sit. After I sit down the cabin door swings open. Alexander enters with a basket full of clothes. "I found some old clothes in the shed, it should be enough so that's not a problem anymore... But we do have a new one." Alexander steps away from the entrance of the door revealing a girl with pale skin, white hair, and eyes. Werewolf Her forehead and a huge part of her hair were covered in dry blood. "Nice to meet you... My name is Sora."
