CONFIDENCE TEST

4070 Words
[My apologies. I have had a very eventful time from the last chapter posted. I've done a few plays and made an animation for Silver Night that I am still working on. During the holidays, I had to celebrate for events because... I"M ENGAGED NOW! :D My fiancé had a birthday right after and of course Christmas and New Year plans so it took long to post this chapter. I hope you enjoy it still!] I woke up in the morning, noticing the absence of Ozario. I was sitting in the bed, looking at some clothes left at the edge of my toes. I showered and put them on, realizing they were even more revealing than the sleepwear I had last night. The shirt I wore was a crop top that ended up right at the bottom of my "feminine goods." It was really tight with silver shingles hanging down from the hem. My cleavage was showing, too. It made me blush to imagine what Ozario might think of this as well. Omgh... How could this have happened! What's he going to think?! The shorts weren't any better; they stopped very close to the middle of my thighs, still feeling high enough to show off my butt cheeks. I can't wear something like this! Although the colors of blue and silver made my body look good, this was not my style! The only good thing was the high-waist shorts, so my protruding stomach looked flatter than it really is. "Ugh! I bet Meridia and her dumb confidence test." I grumbled in the mirror, "This isn't confidence! She's trying to hire me! I need to find something better." In the room, I did not see my bag to change my clothes. Must be in that guest room! Some gladiator style sandals were placed on the floor next to the bed. I took them and then snuck out through the halls stealthily. I've been trying to cover my body with my arms or any wall I could find. I just had to get my bag. Where was Aida concealing it? I found the room we were in last night, but no bags were lying around. I was feeling a little discouraged. Sweet Jesus... Now, what will happen? Aida must be up to this! Or, uh, what about Ozario? No, he wouldn't have... Perhaps. I don't freaking know. Omid? I was warned by Onyx about him. Oh... Oh... GOSH! Where is my suitcase? Who's got it?! "Tabhath ean shay'an, wamathiran (Looking for something, sexy)?" A woman's voice echoed from behind me. To see who she was, I turned around. Behind me, Meridia stood, smiling and holding my bag. Well, now I know from where Ozario got his alluring teasing from. I walked up to her, longingly reaching out my hand for my bag. My lips pouted. Aida grabbed my hand. She guided me to my family down the hall. They were almost as revealingly dressed as I was, sort of. Still, they revealed a lot less. Aida and I stood in the sun outside. As the Cullens and Jacob sat at a gorgeous gold table, I saw their sparkling bodies glistening from the light shining upon them. Well, with the exception of Jac—he was not glistening. In comfy looking chairs, they relaxed, talking to each other. There were only four people eating. -Henry tapped on Ozario's shoulder and then pointed at me. Onyx looked my way. Abruptly, he fell out the chair. Onyx rushed to stand back on his feet and he fixed his top. He walked toward Meridia and me. I tried to hold back my giggling. A lot of us laughed at his reaction. He shook his head, laughing too. I touched his beige shirt that made him look so incredibly hot, and I blushed. The V-neck was so long that his sparkling, tan abs revealed through the strings. "That didn't just happen," he playfully tried to convince. "I don't know what everybody just saw." I chuckled, "Yeah. Suuure." I nervously laid my fist over my chest. "Good morning to you too, Cati," Ozario greeted, placing his hand on my hip and pulling me close. I smiled, realizing Meridia was watching us. Aida covered up her smile. I got a bit shy again and tried to cover my stomach with my arms. We walked over to the family to sit down. Everyone was dressed in a certain style. I tried to figure out why we were dressed differently. It matched our personal styles and origin. For me, it was just the confidence test. Omid came with papers in his hands. Meridia took them, then outburst a fake cough. Aida lifted her arms out, waving her hands to call everybody's attention. "Alright, everyone, we have some fun to get too! For Cat to use her powers, she will need more to boost her confidence, and this will help her believe she can use it. So, we will be doing some very fun things today while showing we are proud of our own skin! It's burning up here in Egypt, so I took the initiative in having someone design these clothes for you. I didn't want anyone in my kind of outfits, except Cat. I had Henry give me your everyday styles and Omid tweaked my style into it." Meridia looked at me and took my hand. I stared back. "Yes?" "The first step for you is becoming comfortable in your body. Cat, your power is your entire body and mind. If you don't have confidence or trust in yourself, you will not be able to use your abilities properly. Sooo, we are taking a tour around town dressed like the sexy people we are," she expressed excitedly! I blinked and mouthed, "Oh." Almost everyone thought it would be a great idea. Henry felt very up for it; all the while bantering his brother about me. I looked at Astrid. She didn't seem so amused. In all honesty, she jeered at Meridia about the idea. Aida winked at her with an evil smile. Were they fighting since we got here? If they were, why hadn't I noticed? Meridia stood up. "Now, if everyone is ready, let's go," She exclaimed happily! She clapped her hands together. I jumped up, but my stomach felt weird, so I cover it. Meridia held out a lovely butterfly belly-ring that matched my clothes. I took it and, fretfully, put the charm on. I needed to remember to be confident. Confidence was important. I sighed, straightening my back. We left the mini palace for the day- viewing all the beauty of Alexandria. Meridia thought going to the usual tour spots wouldn't introduce us to the greatness of inner Egypt. She wanted to reveal it's not what it's known for in America. Everyone strutted down the streets to all the cool shops. The family bought a few things to bring back home. Meridia and I did other stuff, like getting temporary tattoos on our stomachs. A lot of people we met knew about Meridia's skin, but they didn't think too much about it since they thought her sparkling flesh was just special effects for her company. Apparently, a lot of her employees sparkled too, humans and all. It gave her an advantage to travel outside wherever she pleased in the sun. Meridia took me to a make-up salon alone. The beauticians dolled us up and let us look in the mirror afterward. I wore metallic eyeshadow and light lipstick. My brows were straighter than normal. I smiled, realizing I was beautiful after all. They didn't use foundation or concealer at Meridia's request to show me that, with or without make-up, I looked amazing. We left to return to my family, who were watching street performers dance. Bella, Renesmee, and Alice ran up to us when they spotted us coming. "Hey, what's going on," I asked excitedly? Alice pointed in the direction of the dancers and told us, "They are having a group dance. Anyone could join if they wanted." Ozario jogged over to us next. "Hey!" I waved happily. "Ellooo," I exclaimed! He chuckled then waved us over. "Come on! Any of you want to watch?" We ran back together toward our family. I saw many dancers get down on the dance floor. There were dancers of all styles enjoying themselves. Two of them left in glee. Meridia pushed me in to take their place. I eyeballed her and she shrugged. Everyone had already started cheering for me. I look at Ozario hoping he would get the "help me" I was calling out for. I poked my lip out and everything. He laughed, shaking his head. My shoulders limped in sorrow. I sucked it up and went for it. I decided since no one would pull me out of this, I will come up with the most ridiculous dance of a lifetime. A new song had begun on the radio. Because I surprisingly knew the song, it was about to go down. I turned to the audience and looked straight in the eyes of my family. I gave an evil grin and struck a weird pose. "Oh, Dios mío…" Ozario knew exactly what was about to happen. He held his nose and began to chuckle. He covered his face and started laughing as soon as I started dancing to the song. I watched the family look at me with crazy expressions and laughing wildly. The dancers stopped and watched me with looks as if they were witnessing a crazy lady. I looked directly in their eyes to make things more awkward as I continued busting awkward moves and making stupid faces. Eventually, everyone laughed and cheered as I carried on. Ozario ran out with me and started doing my dances too. We stopped when the music ended, posing in positions that looked quite painful to master but, in reality, felt comfy. I saw Meridia clap for us and laughing hysterically at our performance. I smiled, watching everyone with faces that were charmed and full of happiness. During the time of sunset, the world of Egypt started to become colorful with lights again. Meridia decided to take her guests out to a party. She got the idea before she gave me a long lesson about vampires. I still remember what Aida said to me, "Henry called me up late. I could have taken all of you to the Spring Festival. Now, there isn't much to do. But, I guess it's for the best. I do have a performance to do at a party tomorrow. I could take everyone with me…" Going to a party for the second time of my life should be fun! As much as Aida pleaded for me to wear the leather, two-piece dress I bought earlier, I clearly wasn't going to. I hadn't wanted anyone, except Onyx, watching me parade around in a hot outfit like that. I'd save it for a rainy day or something like a one-on-one date. Instead, I had managed to trick Aida in order to wear one of my own clothes. I had to convince her that I had the perfect dress in mind. So, I pulled out something I had in my closet for a while from my suitcase – A black mini dress with the bottom puffed out. The dress was skin-tight whenever I wore it, which was the reason I usually wore a plaid shirt over it. Not tonight, though. I also pulled out some decorated fishnets that I wouldn't normally wear unless I had on my ripped pants I had brought. I pull out some high-heeled boots my mom adored getting for me, which was higher than what I'd normally wear. They also had chains, but it was not as edgy as the chained boots Alice gave me. These were more elegant and sexy. "Wow! Noddle straps, lots of cleavage, and a killer choker on a dress! It's… GORGEOUS! Hurry up and put it on! Ah!" Aida clapped and jogged in place. What is up with girls and becoming giddy over clothes? The only reason I knew and explained these things because my mother was more of a fashionista than I ever was. I giggled and walked inside Ozario's bedroom to change. Though I hadn't expected much out of my trip, I brought some make-up with me. I decided not to wear foundation and other concealing bullcrap since Aida probably would've said something against it. I decided on Smokey-eyes and a dark maroon lipstick. Though completely not a part of the dark look, I still loved having my anime-style blush on my cheeks. I walked out and Ozario stood with Aida outside the door. Meridia gasped with a big grin. Ozario faced me with widen eyes. He blinked and smiled. I grabbed my shoulder and wobbled my right leg. "Oh! Uh…Hi?" I greeted. Ozario held something small in his hands. He waved and walked up to me. As Onyx started messing with my earlobes, he muttered, "You look amazing, Catalina." I touched my ear. Earrings? "Thank you, Onyx." He pulled my hair behind my ear. "Black roses. In some countries, they are a symbol of admiration. Are you ready to go?" Smiling in love, I nodded. My family was waiting in the lobby. People were walking around and cleaning the palace. I guess they were about to start their night shifts. Ozario swept me off my feet. He started looking around restlessly. Henry also walked ahead in fast pace. I blinked in confusion and asked Onyx, "What's going on?" Ozario answered rapidly, "No questions. Let's just go before you start to see things." My mouth hung open and twisted. "Kaaay?" I looked behind us and people were starting to remove their- uh- Clothes. Ooooh! They are about to start their night shifts! My eyes widened and I looked up at Ozario. The door behind us shut. Ozario set me down and held his nose bridge. He shook his head. "What?" "You watched," Ozario murmured. I blinked and looked at the door. "Not really. I saw a lady remove her shirt. That's about it." He crossed his arms. "You watched." My shoulder slumped. "I guess, that does count," I admitted. "Come on, slow pokes!" Meridia shouted at the bottom of the staircase, "I have to perform at this thing!" Henry whispered in my ear, "Whatever you do, no alcohol." "Ew… Alcohol," I uttered back. Ozario petted my head. "Good girl, little kitten." I rolled my eyes and followed the guys downstairs. After partying in the back of a limo, the car stopped in front of some club. I could hear music bursting out before the car door opened. Ozario help me out of the car. I stepped out. "Thank you for your help, Onyx," I said, "Omgh… I've never been to a club before." I looked at Ozario, who began to look annoyed at his brother and trudged along inside. Um? Already? Henry tapped my shoulder and led me inside. When the guard allowed us in, I saw many people club dancing; like grinding against each other. Meridia was already on the stage with many other girls, performing. I grabbed Ozario's hand and leaned to whisper into his ear. "Wow! It's so lively here," I commented! Onyx shouted over the loud music, "What do you want to do?" "I don't know! I've never been to a club before," I expressed! Ozario rubbed his earlobe as he thought for a second. He looked at me and asked, "Do you want something to eat? You haven't had anything in a while today." I nodded, "Sure!" Ozario led me to the bar. He helped me order since I had no idea how to speak Arabic. I looked around at the dancers. Some were belly dancing, grinding, and more. This was different from Blue Ocean, the hang out center for artists. This party was at an actual club with drunks, perverts, and party girls. Ozario wrapped my arm around his to keep me protected I guess. I think I could spot whose party it belonged to. A tall, dark, handsome man who kept making sure his guests were entertained. Most of them were men. It looked like a bachelor party. Guys were shouting about getting the groom to have a lap dance. Ozario tapped my shoulder for my attention. I glanced at him. "Here…" Ozario slid some food my way. "Something, sort of, new. Spanakopita, tiropita, buffalo wings, Egyptian fries & hummus with pita" "Thank you, Onyx! Gosh you're the best!" I began stuffing my face. "Mm! Sooo, good. Wow… I didn't realize how hungry I was." Ozario smiled at me. "Ozario," I shouted! He jumped and looked at me funny, "Mm?" I handed him a wing from my plate and asked. "Get some! Please?" "Hm?!" Ozario lifted his hands in surrender and shouted, "Oh! No! I'm not a fan of spicy food." "Oh! I didn't know that. You can't eat any fries either… It would hurt you. That sucks." I slouched and continued eating. I wondered what I could've shared on my plate with him. Ozario breathed in and took a fry from the plate. He started eating it. I flinched, feeling a little concern about Ozario's throat. He surprisingly finished without even wincing, not even a little. Onyx started chuckling. "Was it really necessary for you to watch me the whole time," He asked? I gave him a worrying glance and mumbled, "Sorry. I didn't want you to hurt yourself. You didn't have to do that." I touched his throat. Onyx took my hand and, with a straight face, he said, "I'm fine, Cat. I was trained not to feel pain. Besides, I ate it, didn't I?" I gave him a sad look and questioned, "Trained?" Ozario looked down and recounted his past, "Technically, tormented before. It was punishment for being a hitman. Being shot, ripped apart and put back together, and blinded. Trust me. I'm fine. Pain isn't my problem right now." Oh, my gosh…Onyx. I never knew. This doesn't mean you torture yourself some more. I frowned and crossed my arms. "So, you can't feel yourself getting sick right now? You may not be able to feel it, but I know you are." "Pifft! I'm fine." Ozario looked away from me and grinned like nothing was wrong. I smirked and waited for him to get sick. I just knew he was going to. My guts told me. Ozario gulp really hard and licked his lips. "So… I have to go- I have to go to the… The men's room…Yup. I'll be… I'll be right back." Ozario started gagging and hurrying off the stool chair. He ran away from the bar. I shook my head and chased after him. I ended up following Onyx into the bathroom. We stayed in one of the stalls together. Ozario held his head over the toilet. I stood behind him with some napkins in my hands. I was in shock. I never thought a creature like him could vomit. "Do you want me to hold your hair?" I asked in sympathy. Ozario waved his hand down and choked out, "No… No. I got it." I did it, anyway. He began to puke again. It came out red. Blood? Oh, no. I frowned in sadness. I had no idea something so small could have an enormous impact. Potatoes were like his poison. "Thanks." He flushed the toilet and leaned against the wall. He breathed, "I'm fine, now." I began wiping his mouth off with a napkin. "You vomited blood, Onyx… That's not fine. Let's not ever do this potato thing again. Okay, tough guy?" Onyx grabbed the napkins and continued to wipe off his mouth. He depressingly uttered, "You're right… I guess, I didn't want you to feel left out." He showed his sideways smile and asked, "You really think I'm tough?" I chuckled, "Really?" I gently whacked his arm and told him, playfully, "I won't say it again. Let's just dance, okay?" Ozario rubbed the back of his neck and smiled. "Kay." I led Onyx out of the bathroom. We stood together on the dance floor. I had no idea how to dance at a club, but Ozario helped me out with that. It was much easier than I thought, especially since he made our dance more fun. I spotted Meridia, who noticed Ozario and I partying on the floor. Suddenly, Ozario turned around quickly and a girl zoomed past us. I looked at her, then him. "Did you just dodge her?" I whispered toward him. Ozario shrugged and admitted, "You're my main focus. I won't let some girl, I don't know, steal my attention." I jerked in shock at his words. The Egyptian chick turned around and started doing some sort of creepy – trying too hard to be sexy – dance. Ozario's brow rose like he was trying to figure out what the woman was doing. Her eyes desired him too much. Her pretty green hair and hot outfit sent an ugly green blood cell through my veins. A disgusting feeling started growing in my chest and my cheeks started to burn. I don't think I like this very much. I became so upset that everyone's voices had double. Sounds became clearer. This was the second I had realized that my gift from Edward had started up again. I could hear her mind curse me out and she was clearly trying to spite me. Ugh! Drunk pig! I read Ozario's mind and he yelled for her to get the heck away from us. Ozario doesn't appreciate what she's doing either. Hmm…Maybe… Just maybe, I could try something. Ozario put his hand on his right hip and shook his head. "Ya Mali Aaney" by Tamer Hosny started to play, a song I recently found on YouTube, played really loud. I started to dance ways I wouldn't normally do in front of people…Belly and freestyle dancing. Ozario looked at me in surprise. The other girl tried harder to steal Onyx's attention, so I started grinding on him. He grabbed my waist as I turned my back and started shaking on him. "What are you doing," Onyx whispered in my ear? I whispered, "Just play along, bad boy." Ozario and I began dirty dancing with each other on the dance floor. A mixture of many lovers' dances like bachata and samba along with other hot dances like belly rolling and grinding, but she still wouldn't leave. To convince her Ozario was mine, only mine, I lick his neck and showed her a devious grin while Onyx and I kept grinding against each other. She finally screamed in irritation and stormed away. Onyx and I stopped dancing after she was gone. "Finally," I mumbled, crossing my arms. I looked up at Ozario. He was blushing so hard his face turned a deep shade of red. His silver eyes sparkled more than usual, and it wasn't the crystal overlay. "Um," Onyx looked up at the ceiling, licked his lips, and covered his pants with his fists. "Onyx," I gasped! "You did it!" He fussed with a frown. I laughed at him. "I'm sorry!" I replied, hugging him, "Let's go before anybody else notices." "Please. I beg and plead." Ozario trudged forward. I cracked up, taking his hand and leading him back to the bar. Meridia found us with her face beaming brightly. "Oh, my Hathor! Cat! AH!" She exclaimed, "You are more confident than I thought. Excellent job getting that man-stealer out of your way." "What?" I fiddled with my fingers and admitted, "I just didn't like how she looked at Ozario." "Wait." Ozario faced me with a smile. "You did all that for… Out of jealou… Why? That's not like you." I blushed and looked away from him. "No reason. I just didn't like the way she drooled over you." Onyx kissed my cheek. I blushed even more and melted. Meridia cracked up and clapped her hands. Even though I was too bold tonight, I believed I had passed my confidence test with a bang. My power opened up a little. And, best of all, I had made my crush blush this evening. Yay!
