Chapter 12

The Alpha Barron was standing next to Alpha Ashley. He had to pretend that he supported Alpha Ashley in his bribe to take over the Lycan court. He still had to wear silver cuffs but his collar was hidden for the video he had to be in. Alpha Ashley gave him a statement to read out on camera. The statement was: to the members of the Lycan court, I former Alpha Barron Lucian of the Lycan court hereby give up my position in favour of Alpha Ashley Cooper of the harvest moon pack. I have done this as I have realised that Alpha Ashley is superior to myself. He has demonstrated his power and leadership amongst his pack. He has defeated his enemies and prevented attacks from other wolf packs during a time of conflict. Alpha Ashley will be able to avoid more conflict and bring peace amongst the other packs when he is Alpha of the Lycan court. I have failed to prevent conflict and bring peace so I support his leadership skills. I request that the Lycan court grant his position to become Alpha as soon as possible. The Lycan court and kingdom will be able to continue thier rule with a stronger leadership amongst werewolf packs. I am sincerely positive that this is something I must do, for the kingdoms sake. I look forward to the Lycan courts approval, your former Alpha Barron Lucian.

Barron gritted his teeth as he read the statement. He felt angry that he had to be humiliated and state a lie. He also knew that if he didn't do it that Alpha Ashley would start killing prisoners. He was doing this to spare thier lives. He only hoped that the Lycan court wouldn't approve the Alpha position to Alpha Ashley. He was a werewolf and not a Lycan and he wasn't important to the kingdom. Many conflicts amongst packs were normal for wolf's. The attacks were mainly from rogues and that was paid for by Alpha Ashley. The Lycan kingdom wouldn't need to interfere unless it was many packs fighting with each other. The rogue attacks should not be a problem since they were now apart of Alpha Ashley's pack. After Barron had read the script in front of the camera, Alpha Ashley told him to read it again.

"This time sound like you mean it. Maybe smile like it's good news and try not to show those silver cuffs" Alpha Ashley instructed him.

"Yes, Alpha Ashley" Barron told him, even though he wished he could shout at him 'no, you treacherous scum.'

Barron had to reread the script a few times before Alpha Ashley thought it was good enough to send to the Lycan court. Barron then watched as the pack house celebrated Alpha Ashley's future victory. He saw the pack warriors get drunk and make a mess of the place. Some of the warriors had already decided to choose female wolves for thier mates. One of them was the one that claimed Alyssa. He was named Brutus and it suited him. He treated Alyssa like she was his property and Alpha Ashley approved the marking ritual for them. Alyssa couldn't bear the fact that she was mated and to be marked by the brute. She tried to complain to her brother but he didn't listen.

"He seems to like you. Why deny him a mate when he is now apart of my pack" Alpha Ashley told her.

"I don't want him as a mate, he won't let me go anywhere without him and he is insisting we have a pup, already" Alyssa complained.

"That's not your decision, it's mine. What my warriors want, they get. They are the ones that will help me get into power in the Lycan kingdom. Now, go back and let him impregnate you" Alpha Ashley demanded her.

"Ashley, please don't do this to me" she pleaded.

"I'm your Alpha and I'm demanding you to mate and be marked by him. Now go, before I mind link him to take you here and now" Alpha Ashley warned her.

Alyssa was going to refuse but then heard her new mate running towards her. She tried to run and hide but he caught up to her and swept her up.

"Mate, you're mine. You do what I say. I say we go make pups" he told her.

Alyssa tried to break free from his hold on her but he seemed to enjoy it. He started carrying her to her room. He was excited at the thought that he was going to have pups with her. Alyssa looked scared and desperate. Barron almost felt sorry for her but secretly felt like she deserved him as a mate.

"Looks like there's going to be more strong warriors in the future" Alpha Ashley shouted.

Barron looked at him with disgust. He didn't care about his sister or any female. He didn't know why he hated them. He looked down on them like they weren't worthy of him. Barron decided he wouldn't change the outcome of the mating rituals. They were not going to force anyone to become luna. The party continued well into the night and Barron had to wait in his cell before he could find out the reply to his false statement. The guards came by to get him in the late morning. Alpha Ashley had only just got up for breakfast and had received a reply from the Lycan court. He looked at the email and read it. He became angry as he read; the position for Alpha Ashley for the Lycan court is denied.

"Warriors, get ready for war. If they won't let me have my rightful place as Alpha to the Lycan court then I will force it from them. Bring me a council member, I will show them that I will not keep any prisoners if they deny me" Alpha Ashley shouted at them.

"Alpha Ashley, you don't need to kill anyone. They might change thier minds if you tell them, you will take more prisoners" Barron insisted.

"They will know that I have taken prisoners but if they don't change thier minds, I will kill them" Alpha Ashley warned.

Barron hoped that he wouldn't kill anyone but Alpha Ashley seemed desperate to obtain power at any cost.
