The hunter's daughter

"Monica, I'm surprised to see you here" Declan yelled at her.

Monica and Reggie were shocked to see him.

"Yes, I am too. But I felt I had to for my father's sake" Monica lied to him.

"Yes, I heard about your father. I'm sorry. We all thought you were killed too, or worse. I'm glad you escaped that werewolf attack. If you need to go somewhere for help, you know where to find me" Declan went to hug her. Reggie let out a low growl.

"What, you have a werewolf as a pet. He looks familiar" Declan said surprised.

"Yes, well they all look the same. I was taught how to trap them by my father" Monica lied to him.

"Yes, he taught you well. You're right they all look the same. If you need any help taming these beasts, let me know. I have improved my torture skills" Declan boasted.

Reggie was starting to get angry. Monica had to hold him back before he attacked Declan.

"I think he's ready to fight, I have to go now, See you, Declan" Monica told him and led Reggie away.

"I'm sorry about that, Reggie" Monica whispered to him when they were out of sight of the other hunters.

"I didn't really mean what I said" she continued. She looked at Reggie sadly.

He shook his head. That's not why he was angry.

"No, that's not why I'm angry. It's that Declan, he likes you. He wants to take you with him, away from me" Reggie said angry.

"I'm not going to go with him, I'm your mate. We need to stay focused so we can complete the mission" Monica told him.

Reggie agreed. They waited and Betta Benjamin mind linked Reggie to tell him he found the camera room. He was going to wait until the first fight started and turn them off. Reggie repeated what he was told to Monica. She nodded. Then they heard the werewolf's fighters death match begin. The cameras were turned off and a few more werewolf warriors sneaked into the death arena. They searched the holding cells and even had a few werewolf's scout the death arenas. There was no sign of the Alpha Barron.

"Maybe he's not fighting tonight" Monica suggested.

"Why would the hunters have a champion not turn up to the werewolf's fighters death arena?" Reggie wondered.

"Not enough money, or worse, he's dead" Monica told him.

Reggie passed on the information to the Alpha. He received a reply.

"The Alpha says we can't risk staying to find out. We need to fall back to the back entrance; he might be a late arrival" Reggie told her.

Monica nodded. On thier way out, Reggie stopped and broke a few locks to shackles and cells.

"We might not be able to free them all but we can create a distraction while we stake out the back entrance" Reggie told her.

Monica agreed and helped him. They left the holding cells and caught up to Betta Benjamin.

"The cameras are still off but I think the Alpha is right there's going to be a late arrival. It might be the Alpha Barron" Betta Benjamin told them.

They waited by the back entrance. The guards were knocked out and tied up, two werewolf warriors took thier place. They could hear the fight going on inside the arena and then they saw a large truck approach the back entrance. The werewolves could smell that it was the Alpha Barron inside. They had the truck go through the entrance before they ambushed it. The hunters were disarmed and the truck was raided. The Alpha Barron was released and he shifted and began fighting everyone, werewolves included.

Reggie mind linked him.

'Alpha Barron Lucian, it's me Baldrick Cooper from the harvest moon pack. We have come to rescue you' Reggie said to him.

'It's you, you came back to save me? I see you brought your true mate with you. I am grateful for your rescue but first I need to pay back some hunters' he mind-linked the pack.

The Alpha Barron went and hit the hunters that had held him hostage. They were beaten and left for dead. The Alpha Barron then let out a loud howl. Every werewolf in the death arena responded. The hunters soon came out with werewolves attacking them or trying to break free from the hunters. The Alpha Barron kept attacking hunters and guards. He wasn't satisfied with his payback.

'Alpha Barron, we should go. We have my Alpha waiting in a truck to take us back to our pack' Reggie told him.

'Very well, but I will come back and destroy this place, myself. Then I will hunt down the werewolf's that betrayed me. They weren't rogues that sold me to the hunters' Alpha Barron told Reggie.

Reggie mind linked his Alpha that they were on thier way back to the truck with the Alpha Barron. The Alpha then mind linked the rest of his pack to fall back to the truck and protect the Alpha Barron. Monica tried to follow them but got caught up in the crowd of escaping werewolves and hunters.

"Monica, your werewolf is escaping, let me take it out for you" Declan shouted at her.

"No," Monica cried out and went over to stop Declan.

He was pointing a gun with a silver bullet and it was aimed at Reggie. Monica stepped out in front just as Declan shot at Reggie. It struck Monica and Reggie felt it. He turned around and growled. He went racing after Declan. Declan shot again but missed and Reggie was able to run fast towards him. Reggie then sprung at Declan and three him on the ground where he struck him with his claws. Declan was soon dead and Reggie calmed himself. He picked up Monica and took her to the truck. The Alpha Barron had stood waiting for them, he wasn't going to let the pack leave without them. The Alpha Barron didn't care what the Alpha of the harvest moon had planned to get him out. He wanted the mates back safe first. Reggie brought Monica into the truck and the waiting doctor helped take out the silver bullet.

"It's missed her lungs and heart. Even if this was a normal bullet, it would still have killed her. She will need to go to our hospital when we get back" the doctor told Reggie.

He nodded. He hoped Monica was going to live. The ride was a long one. Everyone didn't want to talk, in case it made Monica's condition worse. They got back to the pack lands, just before dawn. They all had to get rest before briefing the Alpha. Reggie knew he wasn't going to get any sleep. He stayed with Monica in the pack's hospital.
