Chapter 14

The noise of shouting above the roar of huge vehicles was heard throughout the pack house.

"Alpha Ashley the royal Lycan army have come through our borders and are at the pack house" Betta Ben shouted at him.

"Quick, bring me my prisoners, if they try to break in here, I'll start start killing them" Alpha Ashley shouted at him.

Betta Ben went with a few guards to the dungeons and many warriors were running around trying to keep the pack house secure. Barron was waiting for Alpha Ashley to release him or use him as shield. He knew that Alpha Ashley wouldn't dare to kill him. Barron Lucian was still a royal Lycan, his death would never help a werewolf alpha gain power in the Lycan court.

"You won't need to kill anyone if you let me go. They will see that I support you and they will let you go, if you let the others go" Barron suggested to him.

"I will let you go; they will see that you support me. The others won't go anywhere until the army retreats" Alpha Ashley shouted.

Alpha Ashley then took out a key and unlocked Barron's cuffs and collar. The silver stung Barron a bit as he took them off but he was feeling stronger. Alpha Ashley watched him as he stood waiting for his next move. Barron decided he didn't want to risk fighting Alpha Ashley as he would use his pack members as shields.

"You will stand by me as they try to force their way in here. We will show them we are more powerful then the royal Lycan army" Alpha Ashley shouted.

"I will support you as long as you don't kill anyone" Barron shouted a warning.

Alpha Ashley looked at him conflicted but nodded. He wasn't going to kill anyone yet but as soon as he had the army retreat, he was going to kill anyone that was in his way. The prisoners were brought in front of Alpha Ashley and he placed them at the front door. He had his guards stand behind them with their weapons pointed at them. He nodded to one of his guards to open the door. He then waited for the leader of the army to approach the pack house.

"This is general Matthew Riverstone of the royal Lycan army, surrender yourselves and release all prisoners. If you fail to do this, there will be an order to take the place under any circumstance, including gunfire" a loud, deep voice yelled to them.

"I am Alpha Ashley of the harvest moon pack. You have no right to take my pack house. I have prisoners that I will kill if you try to come by force. I have Barron Lucian here, who supports my position. He will not let you kill me or my pack members" Alpha Ashley yelled out to him.

"Alpha Barron Lucian knows the rules of the royal Lycan army, he must not interfere with army situations. The royal Lycan army is to defend the royal Lycan kingdom, all threats and enemies are to be dealt with accordingly. Surrender now before you are executed as an enemy to the Lycan kingdom" general Riverstone yelled at him.

"I was only trying to have a higher position that I deserved. I am not an enemy of the Lycan kingdom. I will release the prisoners but do not come in until I have gotten ready to surrender my pack" Alpha Ashley yelled out.

He wasn't ready to surrender but he didn't want to known as an enemy of the Lycan kingdom. He decided he needed another plan. He allowed his Betta to lead the prisoners out of the pack house and surrender to the army. Barron watched him as he angrily gave the command to surrender.

"There's no way that you would have survived the royal Lycan army. You would have had many people die just to have the power you wanted. That power has been used to take away the power you have lost" Barron told Alpha Ashley.

"There was a chance I could have won. I didn't want to lose my power as an Alpha but it's better than being seen as an enemy of the Lycan kingdom. I wanted to be a powerful leader and have peace but I know it comes at a cost, a cost I thought I could pay. Now I will lose my power as an Alpha and my life. I will have nothing worth living for" Ashley complained.

"You will be allowed to live. Since you haven't killed anyone there's a chance you will just be imprisoned for treason. You will have the rest of your life to make up for your crime" Barron told him.

"Perhaps I will, or I will find another way to have what I deserve" Ashley told him.

Barron was going to ask him what he meant when Ashley surrendered himself to the royal Lycan army. He looked around at the now empty pack house and felt bad. They had all been certain of a bright future. Even though they wanted more power, they hadn't wanted to die for it. They had thought money was enough to buy their way into power but it wasn't enough. Now they had nothing to help them out of the mess Ashley had put them in. Alpha Barron would see if he could help this pack get back their bright future. This time he would get them the right leader to follow.
