WhatFateCanDo

The sun shone brightly on Isolde's hut; it seemed the gods were planning to favor her that day. She felt its glorified rays run through her window and pour out on her. She found herself nearly wearing a smile as her eyes opened, and that was strange. Every morning at this time was met with gloom. A gloom that would last throughout the day unless Toiya would do something about it. But even now, Toiya seemed too strange. It was too strange for Isolde to continue trusting her,. She swiftly got up, forgetting the terrible pain she was feeling behind. “Ouch!” She screeched. “Oh, it hurts..it still hurts terribly.” She would have started crying hadn't it been that she remembered Toiya's harsh words that previous day. It still echoed in her head; “stop blaming your misfortune on the demise of your mother”. Yes, she was half right but there was no way she'd understand the full situation. That her mother was the only happy thing she knew. Even at this point, there was not one person she could trust. “Well, if I wasn't so weak, I would've healed myself. Perhaps Avis is right. I am good for nothing.” She felt a sting in her heart. This was from the harsh and disapproving words that fell on her ears and down into her heart; some from herself, some from Avis, some from a man she once thought was her dream. “I need to go wash. I can't show my face to Harald at this point. He's decided to have nothing to do with me and I don't know what to expect.” She slowly lifted herself and dragged her feet across the room to the door; slowly pressing its handle so it'd open. She stepped out, still meeting the sun smiling down on her. She didn't know when she giggled. Wow. “When was the last time I made that kind of sound?” She asked herself, knowing the answer. She strolled over to the stream so she could wash. She undressed and walked even majestically into the chilly waters blended with morning dew. She may have stayed in there for a few seconds before hearing a loud shout coming from the thick woods facing the stream. She was petrified. The voice sounded like whoever had it was in so much agony. Maybe they were in danger, but there was nothing she could do. There was… Her thoughts stopped as she dashed out of the water, wearing the same gown she'd worn even the previous day till that moment. As she approached the woods, she swallowed, halting at its entrance so she'd slowly walk in. Of course, it wouldn't be wise to run head-on into danger. But was it dangerous though? She may have thought she was following this course of action all by herself but she had no idea that fate had already begun spinning her threads. And fast. “Hello?? Hello??? Is anyone there??” She called out. “I'm here…turn left..” a voice came. “Huh?!” She turned her head left and right, seeking out who spoke but there was no one in sight. Yet. She obeyed the voice anyway and headed toward the left. As she wended her way through the thickness of the trees, the voice kept talking to her. “Look around you for Meomia flowers,” It instructed. What was that? “But..but I don't know what they are.” “You do..” Immediately, her eyes fell on blue flowers decorated with red apex and pistils. She felt strongly that that was indeed what she was looking for. That flower had the element of healing. The voice didn't stop talking to her as she continued advancing down the path, this time with certainty. Who was she going to see? What was she going to see? As she got closer and closer, the voice stopped talking to her. Rather, she felt a figure standing behind her. Not just any kind of figure, it created an aura that told her just how humongous it was. Her legs began shaking as she slowly turned around to face this creature. A wolf. A big wolf. A wolf that looked like an alpha. An alpha??? Harald???? Good heavens! She began running, believing that Harald lured her into the forest to kill her. Perhaps he'd finally resorted to killing her and he chose to do so in his superior form. But of course, the wolf outran her and stood right in front of her. “Harald, please, please don't do this. I'll leave, you'll never set your eyes on me. I promise I'll leave forever.” Yes, the tears were already spilling, and she may have imagined it, but she heard laughing. Who laughed? The wolf gave her an intense stare. She wasn't looking into his eyes. She couldn't. But even with her head faced down, she could tell just how intensely the wolf was looking at her. That voice came once again saying, “I'm not Harald.” She was still facing the ground, her mind shrouded with fear. “Please don't hurt me, Harald, please.” “I'm not Harald,” “Harald please don't-”, “Oh, will you stop that? My patience is already thinning out. I'm not Harald.” “Well, even if you're not him, you have about the same measurement of arrogance,” “Arrogance? How have I displayed arrogance in this short time we've met? You're the one who can't even look up at my face,” “Do you know how terrifying you look?” Isolde was surprised. She was having a back-and-forth with this…wolf. For the first time, she was being her thorough self without being smacked for it. And wait, did he just say he wasn't Harald? “Then you…you must be from another clan. A pack and a clan can't have two Alphas. Harald is our alpha here.” Her words interrupted his thoughts. He listened aptly to every other thing she said. “Yes. I know who your Alpha is and you can say that I'm not from around here.” Her eyes started drifting away from the ground, up to his hind legs; taking in the beauty of his form and his crystal white fur. He was beautiful. Who was he? “Then, what are you doing here?” She asked, finally raising her eyes to his, as he stood towering above her. “I had a feeling someone close to me was in trouble, so I came to help her.” “Then who cried out in pain? That's what led me here.” “I did..” “Are you hurt?” “No, but you are. Make a tonic out of those flowers. It will heal you inside and outside.” “What about the person you came to help?” “Well, I better get on looking for her. I cried out that way to attract her but then you showed up. And for some reason, you ... well…I can tell that you're in a lot of pain, and there are a lot of physical injuries on you. I could sense it as you got closer, that's why I directed you to the flowers.” “So, I'm not the one you came looking for?” “Is there any reason you should be ?” The question threw her off balance and made her flush.
