“I know you’re upset with me,” Jaeyong says gently. I shake my head, stuffing more food into my mouth until I’m chipmunking and can’t speak without spewing everything everywhere. I can’t look at him straightaway and instead move to slurp up some coffee, lifting the mug up so my face remains hidden behind it, sucking it back like I’m dying of thirst, a woman caught out in the middle of the desert and presented with the first thing that resembles water. The thing is, though, is that I have to swallow, and I eventually finish my coffee and have to set down my mug, but I get up from the table and hit my coffee machine, taking my time pouring it so that the steaming hot liquid manages to hit the rim of my mug and hit my hand, leaving behind a red mark on my pale-a*s skin.
