Altheia and Carlos

I wake up the next morning to Artemis just staring at me with a frown.
“what’s wrong baby?” “ Mama what’s on your face?” She replies but I’m confused I don’t remember eating before bed. I get up, check the mirror and curse, right there on my face Is the bruise from yesterday but somehow darkened overnight.
“ Nothing baby, I think I bumped my head getting my shoe from under the table last night.”
“ Okay mama. I’m ready to take my bath.” I follow her to the bathroom and turn the water on. I get a bath bomb and some of her toys, and go to the room to get her clothes. After getting her bathed I changed her into her dark red romper, her white sandals, and got to work just conditioning her hair, and brushing it out so the curls run free.
I walk downstairs and make breakfast. As part of the Alpha family we live in the Alphas house down the street from the pack house. I make enough for the Alpha and Luna as well. I leave Artemis downstairs and go upstairs to change. I shower and put on my purple dress, it’s short sleeved, hugs my body just right and comes mid thigh. I put on my black flats, do my concealer, eye liner and apply my mascara. I just brush my pastel colored hair out and put on a white head band.
I head downstairs and check on Artemis she’s doing her morning bird drawings that she catches sight of out our kitchen window.
I go outside and smell the morning air. Marisol walks by and smirks as she makes her way inside to Roman’s room.
I know they'll be busy and so I head to the packhouse knowing Alpha Reyes and Luna Isabel will be hanging with Artemis, just like every morning.
The pack house is buzzing with omegas running around as they prepare decorations and rooms for visiting Alpha’s. I head to Carlos's room and open it, running to jump on his bead and wake him up.
“Carlos wake up, go get breakfast bring it up here to play a game with me.” “ Okay. Okay I’m up, give me a second and I'll be right back.” He says while laughing at my enthusiasm. I wait in his room getting the phase ten out and shuffled, then just walk to his window watching everyone do their training and getting things ready. He shows back up with his food and starts talking.
“ You know Theia, you might Meet your mate at the ball, and leave me here to myself, without you and Art.” I just laugh “ You know that’s not my luck.”
“ Theia it’s a total possibility, one you should be prepared for.” He goes on “ I heard Roman didn’t invite your pack at least so your not uncomfortable.”
“ Yeah he told me yesterday morning before training, I thought it awful weird he also tried to have s*x last night to, was awfully weird as I thought I made it clear years ago I didn't want him anymore. Him and Marisol must be fighting again.” Marisol is Carlos’s sister.
“ Wouldn’t doubt it she walked around yesterday, with a pout on her face.” “ HA PHASE 10 in your face Carlos.” I shout cutting him off he huffs and pouts as I do a dance this is my 5th time winning he’s a sore loser, I’m so excited.
“ okay butt munch I have to go get Artemis and go to the park maybe we will see you there.” “ He’ll yeah I miss my little best friend.” I just smile and practically skip to the house. I walk in and see Artemis watching her Scooby-Doo and end up finishing the episode with her and we go to the park.
“ Uncle Carlos yay I missed you.” She yells when she finally sees Carlos coming our way. I sit and watch them play for a few hours.
We get home and I make dinner for everyone again. I made fried porkchops, mashed potato, and green beans. Alpha Reyes walks in smelling the food. " Young Altheia how are you today, I haven't gotten to spend much time with you lately."
" Sorry Alpha I've been hanging out with Carlos, passing time playing cards lately."
He just sighs and sits down to eat. I sit down at the table and Marisol walks by screaming at Roman.
" You know I smelled her on you last night, a******." " Marisol your delusional you know you're the only one for me." " You better tell them tonight or I am." she slams the door in his face. He walks in all stressed out rubbing his face and grabs a plate to eat with us. We all sit. Waiting.
"Marisol is four months along." He finally says while sighing and setting his fork down. We all sit. Silence.
"She's pregnant." says Alpha Reyes.
" Yes. That's what I said." I'm speechless I don't know what to say or what I'm supposed to say.
" Yay I'm gonna be a big sister." we all freeze, and turn. Its like we didn't even remember she was sitting right beside us.
Alpha Reyes excuses himself and walks upstairs to his office. Probably to call Luna. I sit there in silence while Roman gets up and cleans the table. He comes back and grabs Artemis to spend time with her before bedtime.
I sit. In silence. I just don't know what to do. I call Carlos. " You won't beleive what Roman juts told us." I say into the phone. I update him with what we were told and just sit there.
Roman comes down he put Artemis to bed.
He sits next to me.
Silence.
" You know this doesn't change anything."
" Yes. Yes Roman it does change everything. I won't sit here in this house and watch you move her into our home." " You have no choice."
I get up and walk upstairs and lay down with Artemis and watch her as she sleeps.
I have no idea what will happen but at least I have my baby. With that I fall asleep snuggling my baby and breathing in her scent.
