Chapter 28: Oh hell no

2596 Words
*Andrea POV* It was Monday. I was at the clinic, restocking the emergency cart. A stupid grin kept sneaking onto my face. The weekend had been insane—in a good way. Saturday night, Nathan came only with Leo. The girls had had a terrible hangover and they stayed home. They sat at the bar. ~Flashback ~ -"Tell me again, why do you still work here?" Nathan asked when I returned with a full tray. The bartender asked me to cover for him on his break. -"Well Alpha, I'll give you two reasons. I like meeting new people, and it keeps me updated; I like to play the super spy. Hey, didn't you tell me you were tooooo busy to go clubbing?" I raised a brow, questioning him. -"You have to see him at work during the week, I've never seen him work that fast in my life," Leo said, smirking. Nathan threw some peanuts at him. -"Is that so?" I said, smiling. -"¿What? I wanted to be here with you." He shrugged. Then, pretending she wanted my attention, a woman leaned forward, showing off her sexy cleavage. Nathan didn't even look at her. He turned his head and asked Leo something. In my mind, I smashed my tray over her head at least seven times, but on the outside, I kept smiling wide, placing the empty glasses back in their spot. -'Where is this possessiveness coming from?' -"What can I get you, sweetheart?" I said, excited. -"Umm, I want one of your famous cocktails, with vodka this time, a s*x on the Beach and a Cosmo for my friends." She said, biting her lips and blushing a bit. She was one of my regulars. She loved my cocktails, and she was nice; she gave me big tips. -'But right now, I want to devour her head like a mantis.' -"On it, babe, I'll get right into it." I smiled at her. -'Sorry hun, that man is mine so please stop touching him.' She subtly turned, her boobs brushing his arm, nudging him as if she'd tripped. She then gripped his arm. Hah! A classic! -'I'm gonna key your car, Lucy.' That was Patricia, not me. -"Oh sorry, I guess I'm a bit tipsy," She said, flirty, biting her lip. He nodded and cleared his throat and turned his head to Leo again. She left all giggling and happy, and I felt his eyes on me. I was making her an Appletini when I started to move the shaker, and I looked at him. -'He's worried? 'What is he thinking?' I tilted my head, flashing my scary joker smile, and he gulped. -"¿Leo, are you single?" I asked him, shocking them both. I finished her drink and started making the Cosmo. Nathan looked at me with disbelief. -"Umm, yeah... I haven't found my mate yet," he answered. He took a sip and looked at Nathan, definitely mind-linking him. -"Mate? What's that, like a pirate term for partner?" I asked, confused, then realizing, -"Are you gay?" I asked in disbelief, and he choked on his drink. Coughing hard and his face red, -"What? No, I'm not," he said vehemently, and I laughed. I was about to start with the s*x on the Beach when the bartender came, so I let him finish. I circled the counter and went to Nathan's side. -"I'm gonna have to pee on you if that keeps happening," I say, faking a scowl. He laughed so hard you could hear him over the music. He put his arm around my waist and pulled me to his side. His lips brushing my ear. -"I'll let you do it," He whispered in his husky deep voice. His hot breath feathered against my ear, sending a delicious shiver tracing down my spine, making me laugh nervously. I broke the hug and, with the tray in my hand, I looked over to Leo; he totally crinkled his nose in disgust, making a weird face like he couldn't believe us, totally missing our inside joke. -"Come on, the girls would want a Magic Mike, they sure need it." I winked at Nate, and Leo followed me, asking who Mike was. -"Here you go, girls, oh, and I brought a friend of mine," I said, putting the drinks on the table. -"Girls, say hi to Leo." -"Hi, Leo," they all said, checking him out. He flashed his best smile and sat with them. I left my tray at the bar and whispered to Nate, -"Give me ten, then you come." I quickly pumped, and as I was cleaning up, I heard a knock. -"Come in." He did. By the look on his face, he was excited. I bet his hands were itching just like mine. I hugged him by his neck, and he held me back. He breathed in my hair, which was loose today. I relaxed in his embrace. -"Close your eyes," I whispered, putting his hands on his sides, and he did. I rubbed my hands warm, then held them half an inch apart from him, not touching. Visualizing feathers and his aura, I moved them slowly in front of his face, over his eyes, ears, lips, and neck. I guided them to his shoulders, down his chest, and around his arms, circling him completely. Then, I placed them on his back, lowering them very slowly along his spine. I could see him shiver slightly from the energy shifting around his body. I turned again, bringing my hands down his abs, lower and lower, until I was almost kneeling by his legs. He swallowed hard. 'He can feel me.' I repeated the motion a few times, focusing on his sensitive spots. He visibly relaxed, his arms slumping, his breathing slowing, almost as if he were falling asleep. I felt a slight pull as I took out the bad energy, like I was sucking it right out of him. Then, a warm feeling—my good energy—poured right into him, and I could practically hear a soft hum between us. I ended up touching him with the tips of my fingers, without applying pressure. I couldn't take it anymore; I let my fingers run freely over his chest, arms, and abs. I felt a tingling in my fingertips, and I bet he felt the tingling all through his body too. I stopped, hugging him again, burying my face on his chest, and I inhaled his woody musk scent. Like forest. I loved it. -"What did you do to me, woman?" he asked in a deep, husky voice. A strong shiver, different from before, raced through me, acknowledging the power in his tone. Looking up at him, I see it's his wolf. I smile. -"What? I scented you," I said innocently. -"Did you like it?" I said, faking concern. He held me tighter. -"Oh, I did, but now I need a cold shower," he muttered against my hair. -"Well, I have to go back to work." -"Not yet, your alarm hasn—" *Beep, beep, beep* ~ end of flashback ~ I picked up the kids. We ate, trained, and did homework, then I let them play for a while. Cris called me downstairs. -"Dime nena" (Tell me, girl). -"He's planning on coming here with four men. I don't have their names yet." She said, our gaze locked. I saw concern in her eyes; I smiled, then she relaxed and smiled too. -"Six days," I said simply. Her eyes twinkled. -"Alpha? He has to know." She said. -"Wednesday." -"Gedeon's?" she asked, referring to the men who had fought with Dad. -"Not yet. Just send them the main locations on Wednesday, when we have Alpha's answer." -"Our guacamole?" she asked, referring to our mole, in a Mexican accent. -"In process. I'm crushing the aguacates" (avocados) I replied to her in the same accent. -"I'll watch." I went to kiss the kids goodnight after dinner and a warm bath. I showered, put on my robe, and went to my room. I put on my pajamas and looked at my phone. -"How was your day, princess?" -"Good. Pretty normal for someone like me. How was yours?" -"Missing you," He wrote back, and I smiled. -"Don't worry, you'll see me in two days." -"I can't wait that long." *knock, knock* I looked at my balcony; he was there. Giving me that sexy, naughty grin, taking in my unicorn onesie pajamas. He was wearing all black like a ninja. -"Go wait for me near the rock. You can't be here; I bet my dad is already looking for his rifle," I whispered, giggling. -"I like your pajamas," his grin grew wider. -"I'll buy you a matching one," I grinned at him. -"Now go." He left with a swift jump. -'Show off.' I changed quickly into black leggings and a gray hoodie. I jumped on the balcony railing. I turned and faced my room, squatting. I jumped backward and landed without making a sound, like a cat. I went through the trees to the rock he has been looking at me from since the day we met. -"That jump was amazing. I didn't even hear you land," He said while I climbed the rock. We lay down, facing the beautiful moon. -"You know, you make me feel like a teenager with the hiding and the smuggling," I whispered. -"Well, I have to tell you, it's been a while since I've done stuff like this... a decade... maybe more. So, in a way, it's new for me too." -"Why is that? What about Brianna?" I was confused. -"Well, with her it was more like having formal dinners. She tried, like really trying to make us work, but my wolf wouldn't let her be around too much. So it never worked." -"I like your wolf." I joked, and he laughed. -"He likes you too," he said, smiling at the moon. He sighed. -"It's because she is not my mate." -"Mate, Is that like a soulmate?" -"For a human, it's the most accurate term, but for us, it means so much more. You see, when the Moon Goddess created our kind, she had to split our soul in half so we could be one with our wolves. Each and every one of us has one. There have even been cases when you get a second chance or more than one, but they are rare. You can choose one as well if you don't want to wait or they are gone, but that bond won't ever be as strong as with your mate. A mate is designed especially for you; their brains, heart, even their smell is only for you. You see, we are not complete without a mate. When we find one, everything changes; that person is your world, your gravity, the only reason you breathe and your heart beats. When you mark each other, you feel what they feel; you think alike and at the same time differently. They complete you. If you are ruthless, they are kind; if you are delicate, they are strong, and at the same time, you are one. One mind, one heart, one soul. So we love and long for our mates since we are born, even without knowing them. Of course, there are people who let darkness get in their hearts, and they treat their mates badly; they abuse or reject them. It's painful, the rejection. People have even died from it, but in the end, the Moon Goddess lets everyone choose their own fate, their own path." He explained. -"Wow, that's really beautiful." I bit my lip, and we fell into a comfortable silence. -"Have you found your mate?" I asked the question that was being shouted in my head by crazy Patricia. -"I have... ten years ago," He said, sighing. My heart clenched. I was surprised by the hurt I felt. My feelings, once dormant, began to stir again. I turned to my side, facing him, and waited for him to continue. -"I was in Milan's airport, waiting for my jet. There was a delay. I was on the phone when I saw her sitting on the floor of one of the waiting areas. The most beautiful sight I've ever seen. She wore a Ramones black T-shirt, black leather pants, and black boots, with straps everywhere, all very goth. She had many pastel-colored dreadlocks. Simply beautiful, like a unicorn. I only saw her profile; she didn't turn around when her friend pointed at me. She had a bull ring in her nose and another piercing in her dark, burgundy, plump lips. I even noticed her red eyes," he said dreamily, like he was looking at her right now. -"What happened to her?" I asked, my voice hoarse, giving away my emotions right there. -"Well, Shadow almost took control; he wanted to mark her and make her ours right there. When I finally had my wolf under control, she had run away with her friends. I tried to go after her, but I couldn't use my wolf's speed, and with all the mixed scents of all the people passing through, I lost her. She slipped away from my hands like water," he said sadly while having his hand up to the sky, like he was trying to reach something. Then, he turned to me. His hand caressing my cheek. I leaned onto his hand, closing my eyes. -"Princess, I have looked for you for ten years. Everywhere. I searched every country I visited, even after I took over my pack. But I only had a glimpse of your profile, and my trackers couldn't find you. I begged the Moon Goddess for you with all my soul. After four or five years, I had to focus on my pack because I was becoming feral—a monster. I was ruthless and unforgiving with rogues. Shadow even stopped talking to me. I withdrew from everyone. I decided to change that. My pack grew bigger in number and in business. We went international, and I used that to still look for you. The elders of my pack wanted me to choose a mate because a mated Alpha is much more powerful than a mateless one. But my wolf wouldn't let me move on from you. I would have searched for you till my last breath. One day, I took a tourist class from Spain, as I always did, hoping you'd be there. I talked to a nice man who sat next to me. When we landed, my wolf was feeling restless, and just like that, you appeared in front of me, and in that exact moment, my heart started beating again," He said while wiping a tear I hadn't even noticed was falling from my eyes. I leaned closer to him and kissed him. I swore I kissed his very soul. I felt the loneliness, despair, pain, and frustration emanating from him. Hearing it in his voice, all I wanted in that moment was to hold him and make it all go away. I peppered his face with kisses...on his eyes, cheeks, nose, lips, and chin. I looked him in the eyes. -"I'm so sorry. I'm here now," my voice came out shaky. -"And you are mine, forever," he said while cupping my cheeks. I leaned and kissed him again. He hugged me, my head on his chest while he caressed my hair, half my body was on him, our legs were intertwined. I fell asleep in the perfect place in the whole world. In his arms.
