Chapter 11: The not date part 1

1444 Words
*Nathan POV* I got to her house in wolf form. Her backyard leads to the forest, so I could watch her window from here. I shifted back and heard them in the living room, but not my mate. She must have been in her room. I've been here a couple of times, so I know her room is the one with the balcony. I climbed the huge rock so I could see her better. I know stalking is wrong, but tell that to my wolf. I texted her, and a few minutes later, I saw her wrapped up in a towel robe and holding her phone while she smiled. She answered me playfully, and I teased her back. -"Why don't you let me be the judge of that? You can defend your case while at dinner?" I asked, and I could see her freeze. She sat in a chair, and I could see her shoulders go down, looking defeated. I furrowed my brows. Maybe she doesn't feel attracted to me. Maybe she's still in love with that douche. A growl came out of my mouth. -'Kill him,' my wolf said. Then I heard a knock, and I looked up again. -"¿Quién es?" (Who is it?) she said. -"Cris." She ran to the door and shut it. She made her sister sit and gave her the phone. I watched her read, and I became nervous. Her opinion is definitely important. She squealed and jumped, so I thought that must mean I passed. I let out a breath I didn't realize I was holding and looked at my mate. She had her brow furrowed, and Cris dropped herself back on the chair. My wolf whimpered, and my heart clenched. -"What are you thinking?" she asked my mate. -"He doesn't know, Cris. He doesn't know I have a family already. Heck, he thinks my name is Samantha! What if he rejects them? What about Darth Vader? What if he just wants to sleep with me? What if—" She started blurting out questions. She looked so vulnerable and hurt right now; I wanted to go there and just hold her. She doubted herself, just like me. -"Then you get laid, girl, you know it's been a while," I heard her sister say. I almost choked on my own spit. I looked at my mate to see her reaction. She grimaced and shut her eyes. I saw the pain in her face. 'What did he do to you?' I asked myself. -"Well, you're not going to get over that by being forever alone. Someday you'll have to take the risk," her sister added. I saw her take the phone from my mate, and she started writing. -"Look, handsome, I'm a very busy woman. I don't have much free time on my agenda." I raised my brow and looked back at them, amused. She had her leg up in front of my mate, and I chuckled. -"Okay, it's cool. So what do you suggest?" I looked up. -"How about you meet me tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Ryder Logistics? I have something to do there. Bring tacos and dress to get dirty," was her response. -"Give it back, Cris, you crazy b***h! I'll kill you!" I saw her twisting a towel and start aiming at her. I smiled widely. -"It's a date." I wrote back. -"That's it, you're dead," she attacked her, and she started to squeal and run to the door. -'I like her sister,' Shadow said. -'Me too.' I darted my eyes away when I saw her loosen her robe, and I turned around. My wolf started fighting for control again, so I went back to my pack. -"Why do you look so happy?" my beta asked as I signed some paperwork in my office. -"I have a date," I muttered without looking up. -"With whom?" I raised a brow. -"How did you get her to date you?" he asked in surprise. I narrowed my eyes, and my wolf growled. He put his hand up and chuckled. -"I mean, I just thought it would be harder to convince her to even look at you," he said with amusement. -"What do you mean, man? I got the looks, the personality, and these babies right here," I said as I flexed my arms and wiggled my brows. -"Hah! I bet you're gonna bore her to sleep. You're no fun at all. What are you planning on doing?" -"Well, that's the thing," I said as I scratched my head. -"I don't know, really. We're meeting at one of her warehouses. I have to bring tacos and clothes I can get dirty." -"Wait a minute. So she asked you out? She's probably going to torture and cut you into pieces in her warehouse," he started to sneer. -"Technically, it was her sister," I muttered, blushing. -"She has you whipped already, man. Look at that stupid grin you have on your face," he said. -"Wait till you find your mate. I'm gonna have fun seeing you beg her for attention." -"She'll be the one begging to be with the most handsome beta of the werewolf community." -"Yeah, right." We finished our pack work, and I went for a run. When I got back, I showered and put on some boxers. Before I went to sleep, I texted her. -"Goodnight, princess. Can't wait to see you tomorrow." -"Me too. Sleep tight." Next day, I got up at 5:30 a.m. I ate my breakfast and went to the training field. Today I just observed. That is until Brianna, a warrior wolf I dated a few times, came to where Leo and I were. -"Alpha," she said, bowing her head slightly to the left, showing her submission. -"Brianna," I said with a stern face. -"I was wondering if you would like to go out, like old times?" she said with a seductive voice and twisting her hair. We tried dating a couple of times, but my wolf would drive me crazy until I broke up with her every single time. -'In your dreams,' Shadow snarled. -"It didn't work then, and I'm pretty sure it won't work now, Brianna. You're a good warrior, but I only have eyes for my mate. My heart and soul belong to her, so stop wasting your time trying to get in my bed." I said sternly. -"But you haven't found her yet, and it's been 10 years, Nathan. Don't you think it's time to move on?" she whined while trying to touch my chest. I grabbed her wrist before she even got close. -"It doesn't matter, even if I don't get to be with her, I would never be with you, or anyone who's not her. Now please leave me alone and don't come near me again unless it's for pack issues." I ended up using my alpha voice. -'Ouch,' Leo said through mind link. I didn't want to be harsh on her, but every time we tried dating, she mistook it as a sign my wolf was accepting her. I've even heard a few omegas calling her Luna. If I don't stop it now, when I bring my mate here, she'll try to do something. Wolves are very territorial. And if she sees her chance of being a Luna at risk, I know she'll try to retaliate. I saw the pain and disappointment in her eyes. She lowered them. -"Yes, Alpha," she sighed, turned, and held her head high as if nothing had happened. I could feel Leo trying to muffle a laugh. I turned with a scowl on my face, and he started laughing hard. -"Sorry, man, I didn't realize you were so used to being asked out on dates... You're on fire! Please tell me your secret," he said, laughing. I just chuckled and responded, -"I told you. The face, the personality, and these babies," as I caught his head with my arm. My day went as usual. I tried not to think about our date because I was getting a bit nervous. I felt like a teenager. Where had all the Alpha confidence gone? When it's about her, I can't be sure of anything. She doesn't feel the pull as I do. I know she's attracted to me; I can see that by the way she gets drawn into my eyes. But I can't really know if she feels anything more because I can't read her… not that I'd had any chance to do that, really. But today, I was actually spending time with her. I decided I would be completely clear with her. I don't want her doubting me or my intentions.
