Krystal’s POV

“Krystal!”

“Yes, mom” I yell back as I was tying my shoelace.

“Liam is here already,” she says, making me irritated. Not upon her, but this guy she took the name of. He is so irritating, everyday he comes to pick me so early that I need to wake up early, not getting a night of proper sleep.

“Let him wait,” I yell back. I don’t know what he gets from coming going to school so early. And also due to this habit of his, I often get lectured by my own parents praising him the whole while. I mean who does that, and guess what he does when he witnesses this or hears about it?

Enjoys it and laughs out loudly. He very well knows that my parents like and trust him very much, and he always takes advantage of it to irritate me. We both are best friends since childhood and now we are in high school, therefore each of our parents knows about us.

His parents also always treat me as their own daughter, and that’s when I enjoy taking my revenge. But his parent's works always involves traveling, therefore, they are mostly out of town. And due to this, I don’t get to enjoy this as much he does.

I take a look at myself in the mirror and moves out of the room grabbing my bag and cell phone. I don’t do makeups and all which will take me time to get ready, but still, he daily reaches my house before me. Waking up early, decreasing my shower duration, and what not? I have tried everything to be faster than him or at least match his timing.

Going down the stairs, I hear their laughter's coming from the dining table. “You are really funny, Liam.” My mom's voice came. They must be having breakfast, and yeah this silly man also has it here only as he lives alone.

“What is so funny?” I ask going towards my seat.

“Oh, madam finally is ready? Come, please sit, the breakfast waiting for you mam.” Mom said her daily dialogues, making me roll my eyes.

“Oh, thank you so much, mom,” I replied to her not ready for the everyday lecture.

“Princess, when will you learn to be on time. See, Liam comes here every day for you exact at sharp 8 ‘o'clock.” Dad said in his very soft voice being careful to not hurt my feelings.

“Dad, I am already earlier than I should be. It’s not my fault if comes earlier, even we reach school half an hour earlier. What to do reaching so early?” I replied to him calmly, making sure of my words did not make him angry.

“It good, right? Reaching early is a good thing, at least you won’t have to worry about being late.” Mom said.

“Mom, yeah it's good but we will be on time even if we reach five minutes earlier,” I replied. “Okay, fine I will try to be earlier than this. Alright? Can I eat now?” I asked knowing very well that nothing will come out of this.

“That’s like my friend,” Liam said keeping his hand around my shoulder, winking at me. This boy is so cruel that I want to kill him, but can’t help it. His smiling face always swoons away my heart, the heart in which he lives.

Yes, he is not only my best friend but also my love. I love him for the last two years but have not expressed it to him. The reason behind it is, I am scared that it would make me lose my best friend. The only person, who cares about me after my parents and Nora.

He is a bad boy, you know who never had a relationship just nightstands. So, why will he ever come in a relationship with me, a girl who is not of his taste even one percent?

I am not those model figure skinny girl, of his taste. So, I kept my feelings to myself and just enjoy his company which is at least only I get to have. The way he acts around me is the privilege only that I have. Therefore, I also receive many glares at school from all the girls who throw themselves at him.

He always busy at school either surrounded by girls or involved in organizing some school program. But, still, he is always available for me whenever I need him, and this also makes me the target of his girls. Even I have received threats from many of them, warning them to stay away from him and saying, “he is only mine, bitch.”

Reading those threats, I used to laugh like a crazy person. I used to ignore them not giving much importance, taking them as childish nonsense. But once this got serious when a girl started blackmailing me like daily, to an extent where she followed me when I was alone taking a walk. But, again Liam became my savior when he got to know about it.

He literally warned the whole school, after not being able to reach her. Then, at break time while having our food, we laughed like maniacs sitting in the refectory. He even said, “How can they even think of you and me being together and that too having a s****l relationship. It is impossible, I can’t even think about it.”

At that moment, I had laughed along with him, but that literally stabbed my heart. So, I also never ever gave a thought about confessing him, at least I still have his unconditional friendship.

Having our food, we both left my house sitting in his car to school. Today the weather is very nice, soothing air was touching my face as I was looking out of the window. I was still feeling drowsy due to the lack of sleep. I was studying last night, due to which I slept late, and waking up early didn’t help my condition.

“Drowsy, sleepyhead?”  He asked, looking on the road with an evil smile dancing on his face.

“Huh, who is even asking? You crocodile, it’s all because of you, me being sleep deprived.” I replied him scowling.

“What I did now?” he asked being all innocent.

“Yeah, you haven’t done anything. It’s me who comes early and makes me get lectured by my parents and also to wake up earlier than I already am. It’s better that I go to college by bus, or with Nora.” I replied him.

“That is not possible, baby. You can’t go to school lonely, and about Nora, her dad drops her to school every day and they live opposite way from your house to the way of school.” He said, knowing very well about the two possibilities of mine.

Also, my parents will also not agree to leave me alone. After the incident with Adam, they never leave me alone, always scared of something like that happening again.

That day is life’s nightmare. That incident affected me so badly that I was literally scared of facing any new person and also from going out of my room. I used to sometimes lock myself inside my room, crying out till there was no tear left in my system. I even started getting panic attacks, but then my parents, Nora and Liam took my care for continuous eight months. After which I started to recover from having the attacks and then in two to three months I got completely fine. Just the fear of facing people was still in me, but before starting school again my parents used to take me out for walks and dinners.

Even my school faculty was supportive of me, they allowed me to continue school and with the teachers and Nora and Liam’s help, I managed to clear my exams and pass out for high school. I admire this guy and Nora so much because they were even ready to repeat a year with me not caring about themselves and seeing that only I pushed myself to study day and night.

My family and these two fellow’s of mine are my whole world. I won’t be anything without them, I will be lost. “Hey sleepyhead, are you here?” He asked bringing me out of my thoughts.

Smiling, I replied, “Yeah, where else will I be?”

“Nowhere, as you belong here only. Besides me,” he said, making my heartbeat increase. He must have said this casually, but he didn’t realize what effect those words leave in my sensitive heart.

Snapping his fingers, he asks, “What are you looking for? I know I am very handsome.” He said the end sentence with a smirk playing on his lips.

“Nothing” I replied, not having the heart to argue after it beating rapidly.

“Don’t know, what happened to you? You just keep zoning out very much nowadays.” He said, stopping the car.

I looked to the front and found out that we were already in the school’s parking area, which obviously is empty. Sighing out loudly, I opened the door getting out of the car. Feeling the fresh airbrushing my skin, I took a deep breath.

“Let’s go,” he said coming to me and grabbed my hand. We went inside the campus and seeing around again the drowsy feeling came back inside me.

“Liam, what do you do coming to school so early for two months? I get bored daily for half an hour after you leave me in the refectory.” I said to him, making a huffing sound.

“Baby, I know but what to do? I can’t let you come to school alone, so please bear with it.” He said, clearly ignoring my first question.

“But where do you go after leaving me? Why do you always ignore this question?” I asked him, whining the whole while.

“I will surely answer your this question, and that too very soon. Okay?” he replied, entering the refectory.

“As if I have any other choice,” I said, scoffing at last.

Smiling, he kissed me on my forehead and said, “Be careful”. Standing there, I kept seeing towards him, his frame disappearing walking away.  After he went away, sighing, I took a seat at the corner near a window taking out my novel. But, even while reading my mind was still thinking about the suspicious behavior of his.
