Chapter twelve

525 Words
The auroral light of dawn crept through the windows, casting a warm, golden glow over the room. I stretched, feeling the softness of the blankets and the comfort of the bed. The silence was almost palpable, broken only by the gentle hum of the wind outside. Noah's presence beside me was reassuring, his gentle breathing a reminder that he was still there. I turned to him, my eyes meeting his as he stirred awake. His gaze was sleepy, yet endearing, as he smiled at me. "Morning," he whispered, his voice husky from sleep. I smiled back, feeling a sense of warmth spread through my chest. "Morning," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. As we lay there, basking in the quiet morning light, I felt a sense of peace settle over me. It was as if the world outside had melted away, leaving only the two of us, suspended in this tranquil moment. The stillness was eventually broken by the sound of snowplows rumbling in the distance. Noah and I exchanged a glance, our eyes sparkling with amusement. "I guess the world isn't going to let us hide forever," Noah said, his voice laced with humor. I chuckled, feeling a sense of playfulness wash over me. "I suppose not," I replied, my voice filled with laughter. As we threw off the covers and swung our legs over the side of the bed, I felt a sense of excitement build within me. Today was a new day, full of possibilities and promise. And with Noah by my side, I knew that anything was possible. We could face whatever challenges came our way, as long as we had each other. I stood up, stretching my arms above my head, and arched my back. Noah watched me, a smile on his face. "You're so beautiful in the morning," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. I blushed, feeling a sense of shyness wash over me. "Thanks," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. Noah stood up, and we walked to the window together. We looked out at the snow-covered landscape, the trees heavy with the weight of the snow. "It's so peaceful," I said, my voice filled with wonder. Noah nodded, his eyes scanning the horizon. "It's like the whole world has been remade," he said, his voice filled with awe. I smiled, feeling a sense of agreement. "It's like we're the only two people in the world," I said, my voice barely above a whisper. Noah turned to me, his eyes locking onto mine. "I like that idea," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. I smiled, feeling a sense of happiness wash over me. "Me too," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper. As we stood there, looking out at the snow-covered landscape, I felt a sense of contentment wash over me. This was what happiness felt like – being surrounded by beauty, laughter, and the person you loved. And as I looked into Noah's eyes, I knew that this was just the beginning of our adventure together. The snow might be falling outside, but in my heart, the sun was shining bright.
