After an early dinner, I took Maya home. She and Cyclops seemed to enjoy our barbecue dinner before I dropped them back home. The temperature had dropped a little, but not near enough to call the temperature comfortable.
The echo of today is still reverberating in my bones as I step into the cool air of our house. The sweet, chilled breath of the air conditioning washes over me and is an immediate salvation from the outdoor inferno. I toss my keys on the hook - they clink in response. Then, the soundtrack of the house changes. Wandering through the house, I look for Clay but find no sign of him.
