POV: Naomi By the time the sun began to rise, the morning already felt calmer. After everything that had happened yesterday, I honestly expected chaos the moment I opened my eyes. But no. The house was quiet. Peaceful. Like nothing had ever happened. Like no one had tried to take a child in broad daylight. Like I wasn’t standing in the middle of something I didn’t fully understand yet. Right now, I was standing behind Sophie, gently parting her thick red hair with my fingers as she sat patiently on the chair in front of her vanity mirror. Her uniform was already on. Her shoes neatly placed beside her feet. All that was left— Her hair. And that was where the problem was. My eyes scanned the table slowly. Then again. Then a third time. But I didn't see what I was looking for
