The long green boat was rowed by two sturdy loyal Trolls, and Mindbender himself took the oars throughout the night as he secretly slipped across the sea to the Land of the Fairies. The Fairy Queen awaited him at the other side, having been alerted by the Harpster bird. The bird was too clever to reveal himself on the Troll"s ledge, but had listened to the meeting in Mindbender"s great hall, and reported to the Queen of Fairies all he had heard. The boat glided into the pier at the end of the cobblestone walk that led to the Fairy"s Palace.
