The feasting continued for fourteen days and thirteen nights. First, the whole roast boar brought into the hall on a huge wooden platter, with ripe fruit in its mouth and surrounded by young beast baked in its mother"s milk and platters of exotic fruits, everything in and out of season imported from across the Agave Sea on swift boats. There were slabs of guinea hens and wild turkey, huge mounds of scented rice, sweet potatoes, asparagus, tomatoes, carrots, green beans, and cabbage; all kinds of pickled and fermented foods; fresh baked breads of all descriptions, some unleavened and some as light and high as an angel on a cloud.
