ISabella's rejection of Ryan had been all over the news, and she knew she had to act fast to repair the damage. But little did she know, her stepmother Evelyn had been secretly seething with jealousy. Evelyn had never wanted Isabella to be with Ryan, who was a wealthy and influential person in society.
"Why did you have to go and fall in love with him?" Evelyn spat, her face twisted in anger. "You think you're worthy of someone like Ryan? You're just a foolish little girl."
Isabella's eyes narrowed, her pride wounded. "I'm worthy of anyone I choose to be with," she said, her voice steady. "And I've chosen Ryan."
Evelyn's face turned red with rage, but Isabella just turned and walked away. She knew she had to make things right with Ryan, and fast.
