Waiting to be Luna

I hear whispers far off in the forest. They call to me over and over again. I try to follow them but it’s like everything is moving in slow motion. Naomi I hear them call again slowly.. eerily then all of a sudden it’s like they are right next to me whispering in my ear telling me it’s not safe and not to go with him. I start yelling I DONT UNDERSTAND! WHO IS HE? PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND! I stand there yelling over and over with my hands over my ears, just trying to drown out the voices and just when I feel like I’m going to pass out I suddenly jolt awake to the sound of my alarm clock.

Breathing heavy I rub my face and start to laugh. “Oh my goddess it was just a dream” I roll out of bed and head to take a shower. I stand under the hot water thinking about my dream, trying to understand what the voices meant and who “he” is. Finally coming to the conclusion that it was nothing more than a silly dream I turn the shower off and get dressed for school. I blow dry my bright blonde hair that comes just to my mid back and put on my makeup. I’m definitely a girly girl and love my body. I’m 5,2 120lbs, have a heart shaped face and tan skin because I am out in the sun as much as possible.

I head to the kitchen where the pack is eating breakfast. I love that we all have meals together, it’s so lively and everyone is chatting away, laughing and just having a great time enjoying each other’s company. I said good morning to my mom and dad and give a bow to the Alpha and Luna. I walk over and sit next to Justin, he looks at me the same way he does every morning, with a bright smile, love in his eyes and a good morning kiss.

“Good morning baby” Justin says

“Good morning my love” I tell him

“Are you excited this is the last day of school? Plus someone’s birthday is in a week” Justin reminds me

“I know and to answer your question yes I am excited! We will finally be able to feel the mate bond. Ughh I can’t wait to mate with you and mark each other. Plus your mom has been giving me Luna lessons for the past couple of months, I think she’s ready to retire with your dad” I say giggling

“So any plans this weekend? Maybe we could go out to the beach or something?” I ask him

“I wish I could baby but I have to go to the wolf den pack for some alpha meetings with my dad.”

sighing I tell him “that’s okay I’ll just hang out at home and start getting some of my stuff packed to move to your room next week.”

“That sounds good baby. I can’t wait to have you all to myself. Come on let’s get going. I can’t wait to get the last day over with” he chuckles

On the way to school I suddenly hear a yawn in my head and can feel my wolf Maryann stretching. “Nice of you to finally wake up” I tell her.

She scoffs “You know I’m not a morning person. Can we please go for a run later? I’m dying to get out and stretch”

“Sure mate is going away on alpha business for the weekend anyway so we can get some extra time outside together” I tell her.

“I wish you wouldn’t call him that. We don’t know if he is going to be our mate yet” she reminds me...again!

“I know he will be! We have loved each other since we were kids. It’s him it has to be. I won’t accept anyone else” she just sighs and blocks me.

Maryann’s POV:

I wish she would listen to me. I keep trying to tell her that I just don’t feel the mate pull towards him and his wolf agrees with me. These dumb humans just don’t listen!

I hope I’m wrong but I don’t think I am. She just keeps insisting it’s him and won’t even consider that he’s not. I’m worried she’s going to have her heart broken and I just don’t know what to do. If he isn’t our mate then I don’t care what she says I will not mark him. I want my true mate and will accept no other!
