Julia Hall was called next. She walked to the witness stand with considerably more confidence than the previous witnesses. Even after taking the oath, her expression remained composed.
Adrian's attorney smiled. "Ms. Hall, there have been many assumptions regarding your relationship with Mr. Beckett. Is there anything you wish to clarify?"
Julia nodded.
"I never intended to hurt Mrs. Beckett." She clasped her hands together. "What happened between Mr. Beckett and me... wasn't planned. We spent years working together. We relied on each other during difficult projects. Somewhere along the way, feelings developed."
"So neither of you intended this affair?"
"...No."
"And once you realise your mistake?"
Julia lowered her eyes. "I wanted to leave."
