Sam sat and watched as Addi crawled around the room, at one month old she was already doing things at an accelerated pace. Sam felt pride in her heart and knew that she would die for her child. The pack had wrapped around them soon after they realized a new heir was on the way and then after she was born, they'd celebrated on behalf of Sam and her new family. She'd honestly thought she'd never be happy again, that the pieces she had broken into would never be put together. When Alice had dragged her out of that room, the machine on flatline and Diane fighting to save Amber and their baby, her world had gone dark, and she'd been sure that nothing would save her. But looking at her daughter and listening to the baby noises she made, made Sam feel like the most alive, blessed person on earth.
