Amy As the first light of dawn broke through the window, I pulled into the parking lot, ready to tackle another day at the animal hospital. Mondays were always hectic, but today I had an extra task - setting up surgeries for the day. But I went to the back room to check on the kittens before work. Seeing them doing so much better, their tiny bodies responding to the treatment we had given them, was heartwarming. We could still adopt them in a few weeks, but I knew they were in good hands. Soon, the vet arrived, and we got to work. We were a well-oiled machine, knocking out surgery after surgery with precision and care. But our work still needed to be finished. We still had to give the new arrivals thorough physical exams to ensure they were healthy and ready for their forever homes. As
