I sat at my desk, trying to focus on work, thoughts of Leo and Creed kept creeping into my mind. I had agreed to meet Creed on Sunday, but now Leo had invited me for dinner on Friday. I wanted to know if I should cancel my plans with Creed but decided against it. It was only a dinner with Leo, after all.
Trying to shake off those thoughts, I focused on my work. But it was hard to concentrate when I knew that the vets struggled to figure out why they continued to lose the pups in their care. It was a stressful situation, and the fact that they had taken the dogs from an environment of cruelty and neglect only to have them die in their care was not helping.
