Chapter 5-6

My head was spinning! What is going on here and why has April been gone for so long? Craig moves closer to me and starts to rub the side of my arm to calm me down. ̈

̈Jade, I promise you April is fine ̈. 

¨She is here on business and it really doesn't involve you ̈, 

he says calmly trying to guide me back into my chair. I reluctantly sit back down into my seat. I feel sick to my stomach because I know something isn't right here.

̈ ̈What did he mean he paid a lot for me ̈ 

I asked wanting to know what I really was doing here. Craig now kneeling down in front of me with one hand on my knee and the other caressing my face says,

̈Look I am going to be straight with you ̈.

̈These guys are my dad's business colleagues and they hired April to bring in beautiful attractive women to fill the room ̈. 

¨You know, to be some eye candy and April showed up with just you so they are pretty upset ̈. 

Craig seemed like he was telling the truth. I mean why would he lie. I couldn't help, but wonder why he didn't want me to go see his dad. My mind is racing again,  I blurted out

̈then why couldn't I go see your dad if that is all it is ̈

Once again Craig tries to calm me down and reassures me that he was telling the truth.

̈My dad is a pig and chases after anything with long hair and a skirt ̈. 

¨He would of been all over you and I just ̈, 

then he paused for a second. He quickly jumped to his feet and took a step back almost trying to carefully choose the right words. 

“I don't want to overstep my place, I know I just met you, but I like you ̈.

He placed his hands into his pant pockets of his suit. He was looking at the floor now avoiding eye contact as if he was embarrassed.  

I was taken aback. Did he just say he liked me , I asked myself? Well, I wasn't expecting him to say that and I didnt know how to respond. Craig then looked at me and apologized. 

¨I am sorry Jade, I am out of line ̈

¨I think we keep getting off on a bad foot ̈

̈ ̈Do you think maybe we can arrange to go get coffee or something some time ̈ he asked with a much softer tone. Just as I agreed I heard the tapping of April's heels on the marble floor as she entered the room. She called out to me,

̈Jade we have to go the limo driver is waiting ̈. 

I felt silly for acting like a nervous child in front of Craig. April was clearly fine. I stood up to leave and Craig removed his hands from his pockets and stood tall with his shoulders back. He quickly asked me if I would mind giving him my number? Of course I said yes. He then asked to see my phone. I took it out of my purse and handed it to him. He quickly opened my messages then started texting.

̈ ̈There I just sent myself a text ̈. ̈

̈I will text you a little later if that is ok ̈ he asked. 

I stumbled to find the right words. ̈

̈Sure, yes, I mean of course ̈. 

I turned and followed April to the limo. April didn't talk much on the way back. I was still processing everything that happened tonight. When we got home I went straight into my room. Pulling off the wig made me feel like a pumpkin at midnight. Who am I kidding? He liked this sexy, seductive Jade. That wasn't me at all. I still had this horrible pixie cut my mom gave me. What man would find me attractive, I told myself.  

I changed into my pjs and crawled into bed. I had so many questions for April, but honestly they would have to wait until the morning. I pulled my fluffy white comforter up over me then I turned off the light. I wondered what it would be like to have kissed Craig? I have never been kissed before. I started to fall to sleep when my phone dinged. My heart started to beat quickly. Oh my god is he texting me already? What do I say? I jumped up and grabbed my phone. I opened my messages, ̈What it is April ̈?! Why is she texting me I thought?! The text was pretty self explanatory. It said

̈COME HERE ̈. 

I threw off my covers with disappointment and walked out into the living room. April was also in her pjs. She was sitting on the couch with her legs crossed drinking tea.

̈ ̈ Can't it wait until tomorrow April ̈? 

You could hear my frustration in my voice. ̈

̈No it cant ̈ April responded! 

Now placing her tea onto the table she turns and asked me to sit down. 

¨I already know why we were there April ̈, I snarked! ̈

̈Craig filled me in ̈! April looked completely confused. 

¨I get it ̈! ¨You needed girls and drug me along with you so you could make some money off me talking to those guys ̈!

I was clearly agitated at this point. ̈

Is that what Craig told you ̈ she asked me with almost a confused look on her face.

̈Yep, he told me all about it and I think you suck for trying to make money off me¨.

I was really laying on the guilt when she said, ̈

No Jade, I have to pay the rent so WE have a place to live ̈. 

She went on to explain that it is easy money and that she messed up big time tonight and she has to go back. April wanted me to go back with her. 

̈No ̈, I protested! 

¨I am done being your piggy bank..nope...not happening ̈!

I leaned back on the couch. April explained to me that I had to go with her. Not only that, but if I didn't she would owe him tonights money plus the next event! 

̈ ̈What kind of scam is that ̈ I exclaimed. 

Craig was right. His father was sick.

̈Fine, when would I have to go ̈, I asked her?

April said she would get all the details together. A few days had passed since the party. I was kind of bummed that Craig never texted. I wanted to text him, but there is no way I am ever going to text him first. I am way to nervous! It wasn´t long before my birthday had finally come and gone. Yay, I am finally nineteen! I am so happy with how things have been going. I still need to get a car because I often walked to work. I had almost put that whole crazy party out of my mind. It wasn´t something I really wanted to do anyways. April said Mr. Whitman never rescheduled the event with her so I was kind of relieved. We were still working at the restaurant together so I really don´t get why she needs to do stuff like that on the side. It isn´t like we don't make enough to cover our bills. I knew I couldn ́t worry about her because I only had a few minutes to get to work. I was late a few times so now my boss switched me to the night shift. I hate it because I have to walk home to our apartment. We live in a good area, but I am still worried about walking home so late.

That night I was finished up my shift and I was left to lock up. It is a little cool out and all I am wearing is a pair of blue jeans with my black Smarties work shirt. I was already starting to shiver as I began to walk towards our house.

¨Ugh, this sucks¨ I moaned just as my phone chimed. I pulled it out of my back pocket to read the message.

̈ ̈HI ̈  is all the texted said.

I thought that was weird so I texted back,

̈WHO IS THIS ̈?

¨Ugh, no response, of course ̈ I thought to myself while shoving my phone back into my pocket. It was pretty late and there were only a few cars on the road. The street lights lit up the area just enough to give off a soft glow. I could see the bridge up ahead so I knew I wasn't too far when I heard a ding. I quickly grabbed my phone to see who it was. To my surprise it was Craig. Apparently I forgot to save his number in my phone. 

̈ ̈HI JADE IT ́S CRAIG. DO YOU THINK WE COULD MEET UP FOR A DRINK TONIGHT¨? 

I instantly thought about how terrible I look. 

̈ ̈HI CRAIG I WOULD BUT I JUST GOT OFF WORK ̈

Just then my phone went off

¨THAT'S OK I AM NEAR SMARTIES SO I WILL COME GET YOU ̈

I instantly thought there was no way I could let him see me like this when all of a sudden I heard a voice yell out my name. ̈

̈Jade, hey its me get in ̈. 

It was Craig. Now I became a little more anxious. 

̈ ̈Hey what are you doing over this way ̈ I said while trying to fix my hair. 

It was a mess from working my shift. Craig quickly responded while he was getting out of the car to open my door. ̈

̈I have to drop some stuff off to April so I figured I would give you a call ̈. 

I hoped in and Craig started driving. He asked me why I was walking so late at night?

I replied, ̈Oh, I don't have a car and my boss switched my hours¨. 

                                                                 Chapter 6

Three months have passed since that night in the car. Craig and I have been hanging out almost everyday since then. I am so happy that we are getting really close. He is one of the funniest people I know! The best is he finally asked me out on an official date! I am so excited! He is picking me up to go out to dinner. I begin frantically ruffling through my closet trying to find something to wear. As I am shifting the clothes from side to side, I heard my door crackle as it started to open. Just then April popped her head in.

¨̈Whatcha doing sis ̈ , April asked while looking at the mess I made.

̈ ̈Oh nothing, just trying to find something to wear ̈ I whined as I chucked a floral pattern dress onto my bed. April pushed the door open further and walked over to me.

̈ ̈Move over, I will find you something amazing to wear out ̈

April made her way past me and into my closet. She must of took out everything I owned. My bed, chair and floor was covered with just about everything that was in my closet.

̈Got it ̈ she exclaimed excitedly

She grabbed a pair of Michael Kors jeans and paired them with a black tank top and cardigan. She also grabbed out my pair of black boots. She ransacked my jewelry box until she found the perfect long gold dangle pendant necklace.

̈ ̈Now you just need earrings"she said as she took off her gold hoops.

̈ ̈Here Jade wear these, you ́ll look amazing ̈, she said while handing me them.

I have to admit she did have great taste. She kind of reminded me of my mom for a moment. I styled my hair the best I could then patiently waited for Craig to get there. It wasn't long before he had arrived to pick me up. We headed out to an exclusive restaurant that his family frequented often. They knew who he was as soon as we walked in.

̈ ̈Right this way sir¨ the hostess said while pointing to a table in the back of the room.

Craig pulled out the chair while helping me into my seat. We looked at the menu for a few minutes. ¨There are so many different options to choose from¨ I thought to myself. It only took me a second to realize the cheapest price on the menu was twenty four dollars. When the waiter came back Craig ordered us some Champagne, steak, lobster, with a side salad. I looked puzzled for a second, then I leaned across the table and whispered, ̈I forgot to bring my other id and if they ask me I am not old enough to drink ̈.

Craig smiled then told me not to worry that he will handle it. We were in there for a few hours. He had asked me about my home life. He also wanted to know why I had left home. He also asked about Sammie along with what my plans for the future were. Craig was genuinely interested in knowing everything about me. We talked for a bit longer before heading out. It was late, but he wasn't ready to go home. He turned to me and asked if I wanted to go somewhere quiet? I nervously said yes. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach. It was like I swallowed a thousand of them. I didn't know if I was going to vomit as I got more and more anxious. It wasn't long before we pulled into this quiet little spot just off the water. Craig got out and walked to the back of his trunk. I started to panic!

¨Oh my gosh, what if he wants to have sex¨ I thought to myself.

Then I became even more nervous as thoughts ran through my mind. ¨I am a virgin, I can't have s*x with him¨ I moaned. Plus we just met, what would he think of me after. My palms were getting very sweaty.

Craig took out a blanket and a bottle of wine from the trunk. As he began to pass my window he asked me if I was going to get out. I began a peptalk with myself before exiting the car. There was no way I was going to sleep with him! I walked over towards him and helped to spread out the blanket along the dusty ground. The lights from his car were still on. I glanced over towards him. He looked so sexy that I couldn't take my eyes off of him. His shirt had come a little unbuttoned revealing his smooth dark skin. I began to fantasize about what it would be like if Craig made love to me. I quickly shook the thoughts from my head. I sat down and began to look up at the dark night sky. The headlights shut off just as Craig sat down next to me. He asked if I would mind if he took off his shirt as it was kind of humid out.

̈No, of course not" I responded while nervously while thinking he was going to try to make a move on me.

I wasn't sure how or if I would respond to him. I was torn because a part of me really wanted him to, but then another part of me wanted to wait.

Once he was settled he put his arm around my waist and pulled me in closer to him.

̈ ̈Am I making you nervous¨"he asked?

̈ ̈No...no it's me ̈ I said shyly

¨I am socially awkward ̈ I chuckled trying to lighten the mood.

Craig squeezed a little tighter while rubbing my leg with his other hand.

̈ ̈Good because I want you to be comfortable with me Jade ̈

Embarrassed, I looked down at my lap. I whispered to him that I was very comfortable with him. He then raised his left hand to my chin and we were now looking into eachothers eyes. Craig leaned in so close while just hovering his mouth over mine.

¨Do you want me to kiss you Jade¨ he whispered into my mouth.

I nodded my head as I couldn't get the words out of my mouth.

¨I want to hear you tell me Jade¨ this time he brushed his lips gently over mine.

My heart was pounding. I could feel this warmth come over my body. I actually felt my body ache for him to kiss me.

¨Yes Craig, I want you to kiss me¨

Before I could finsh his lips consumed mine. All I could think about was how soft his lips were. As he continued to kiss me all I could think about was how good it felt. He kissed me so passionately that I could still taste the champagne on his breath. Before I knew it, he began pushing me back onto the blanket. His body was now on top of mine. As he ran his hands along the side of my face he began kissing me more intensely. It wasn't before long that he had slid his hands under my shirt. I was so engulfed in the moment that I didn't want him to stop. He is everything I ever wanted and I am his if he wants me. I started to unbutton his pants when he stopped me.

¨I think the alcohol is getting to us Jade ̈

¨We better stop ̈

My face began to flush. My lips ached for more! I was now breathing heavily as I sat up. I realized he was right because we are moving way too fast. I started to get up and head towards the car when he looked at me confused.

̈ ̈Where are you going Jade ̈

I turned towards him and I was shocked.

̈ ̈Don't you want to leave ̈ I asked confused.

¨No Jade, I am not here for sex¨!

¨I am here to be with you ̈ he growled.

¨̈Now come sit back down with me unless you still want to go ̈.

Craig sat there with the cutest grin on his face knowing I was not ready to leave either. It was nice that he didn't want to take thing further because that showed he really respected me. We laid there and talked for hours. I couldn ́t believe we were out there until the sun came up. Craig leaned over and kissed my head before telling me we should head out. We gathered up our things while dusting ourselves off. I hoped into the front seat while he put the stuff in the trunk. As I was siiting there he opened his door to get in. The sound of the leather seats was to much for my head. I had the worst headache. ¨I am never drinking again¨ I said while rubbing my forehead. Craig just laughed and took my hand. He held it the whole way back to my apartment. I really like that he always has to have some form of physical contact with me when we are together. I really liked how affectionate he is with me. I have never had that with anyone before him.

Craig is such a gentleman that he even walked me all the way up to my apartment before kissing me goodbye. I turned to open the door while saying goodbye one more time. As I walked in April was waiting there.

¨OMG tell me you didn't have s*x with him¨ she said almost like a concerned parent.

̈Of course not April" I said while kicking off my boots.

I walked over to her, gave her a hug, then headed to my room.

̈ ̈You're going to bed ̈?

̈ ̈It's seven in the morning¨ she teased.

I walked into my room and literally just flopped onto my bed. I was so tired. All I could think about was Craig. I really liked him a lot. Just then my phone dinged.

¨GOODNIGHT BEAUTIFUL ̈

I smiled as I realized it was from him. I know we haven't known each other for that long , but I think I am falling for him.

Later that day, Craig messaged that he wanted to take me to see a show. He said he would pick me around five at my place. I threw my phone down onto my bed before going to look for April. ¨I am going to need all the help I can get¨ I exclaimed! I flung open my door and she was watching sitting in the couch.

¨I need your help¨

¨Craig is taking me out tonight and I need you to find me something to wear¨ I was so animated that she just laughed and agreed to help. She found me the perfect outfit once again! As she began working on my make up, I jokingly told her she is now my personal stylist. I honestly don't know what I would do without her. Craig on the other hand doesn't like me hanging out with her too much. He told me once that he thinks she's a bad influence, but I owe so much to her for saving me from my mom. April took me in when I had no where to go. I could never stop being her friend. What am I saying? She is like family at this point!

Time passed so quickly that it wasn't long that Craig was knocking at my door. April went over to open it while I put buckled my beige heels. Craig was standing there with a dozen of pink roses. ¨Is Jade here¨ he asked. I shouted, ¨I am coming¨ as April moved back from the door. I gave her a hug then we headed out. We hoped on the highway as we headed off to the show. When we got there it was the most beautifully decorated stage. There was red and gold curtains everywhere. We sat in our seats as they began to lower the lights. Craig told me to move closer so he could put his arm around me. As the show began, all I could think about was him. I know it is to soon, but I know I am falling in love with him. Once the show was over we headed back to my place. I asked him if he would stay the night with me.

¨If you want me to of course I will¨ he said as he leaned over and gave me a kiss. When we got back, April had already went to bed so Craig and I made our way to my room. He walked in as I closed the door behind him. As he went to sit on my bed he picked up a picture of my dad and I off the stand by my bed.

¨That's my dad, He left us a while ago now¨

I headed over to the other side of the bed while trying to fight back tears. I turned towards Craig and he was still sitting there looking at the picture. I crawled across the bed and grabbed it from his hands. ¨Lets put that away for now¨ I said as I shoved it into my top drawer of my nightstand. Craig grabbed me and pulled me into his arms. We laided there for a few minutes just spooning before either one of us said a word. Craig then began kissing my shoulder while moving the strap down off. He ran his fingers over my skin. I felt my whole body tingle as I ached for his touch. He began kissing my neck as I reached my hand up to caress his head. I ran my fingers through his hair as he ran his hands down the side of my body. As he laid behind me, I knew he was in full control. I was ready for whatever he wanted to do. As he continued kissing me down my arm I could feel his hand pulling up my dress. He ran his hand just under the top of my panties when all of a sudden he just stopped. I rolled over to face him and begged him not to stop. I really want to take things to the next level, but he just kissed me and told me not yet. What is wrong with me I thought to myself.

I wanted him so badly, but I didn't know why he doesn't feel the same. As we both turned in for bed I laid there with a million thoughts running through my head. I just don't get it! Does he not find me attractive?

This wouldn't be the last time I asked myself this question as Craig began sleeping over almost every night. I know he cares for me because he is so protective of me. Sometimes I fell like he is a little to protective. I brush it off as just something I will learn to deal. The next day things we pretty normal. I headed off to work early because we were hosting a wedding there so it was going to be a crazy shift for me. When I was finally done

I waved goodbye and headed out. Craig was already out front so I hurried to hop in the car.

¨Hey babe I said as I gave him a quick peck¨. He seemed tense.

¨Is everything ok¨ I asked while rubbing his arm?

¨No Jade, I can't stay tonight because I have to fix somethings at work¨

He just kept his eyes on the road. I could tell something was bothering him, but I didn't want to press. I asked him to stop by the market so I could grab dinner. We both ran in real quick. I decided I would surprise April with dinner since it would just be her and I so I picked up some Piscotto and a bottle of Pinot Grigio. It's her two favorites! Craig walked me to my door then gave me a kiss before leaving. As he was walking he promised to stop by in the morning. I came in and the house was so quiet. I put on some dance music while starting to getting dinner together. We had one of those big wooden cutting boards, so I cut up some cheese into tiny little cubes. I also put out some olives with garlic flavored crackers. I set the table with two big wine tumblers for the both of us. Just as I was finishing I heard the door close.

̈ ̈Hey Jade, I'm home"

It was April coming in. Just in time, I shouted! Come into the kitchen, I ́ve got a surprise for you. She kicked off her shoes just before she came into the kitchen.

̈ ̈Look I picked up your favorites ̈ I said while showing her the platter I put together.

She smiled then popped an olive into her mouth. We ate dinner, but I could tell something was wrong. What is it April? I asked

̈Nothing, well ok, I spoke to Mr. Whitman and he needs to set up that party that we promised him¨.

Ugh, I was so annoyed. Is he really going to make her stick to this stupid agreement?! I was becoming more and more annoyed at the thought of it. Just before I could say anything she asked,

̈You ́ll come right Jade ̈

¨He said it's off if you are not there ̈

I looked down at my plate. I knew Craig was not going to be happy. Just then she jokingly teased,

̈ ̈Craig doesn ́t have to know until the night of the party so don't ́worry¨

As much as I didn't want to, I knew I made her a promise. Plus she can't repay all that money! I will just sit with Craig and that will be it. Well, that's what I told myself. After dinner, her and I were on the couch watching a movie when someone knocked on the door.

̈Who could that be ̈, April asked as she ran to check.

It was Craig! I jumped up and ran over to him to give him a hug. I asked excitedly what he was doing here because I thought he had to work?! He told me he just needed to talk real quick. I asked April to pause the movie then pulled Craig into my room. What is it Craig? I asked hoping it wasn't what I thought it was. He looked very upset. He started to push me away. What? What, Craig just tell me?, Did I do something to upset you? I tried to take his hand, but he asked me to sit on my bed. I didn't like the way he was acting, but I knew something was wrong. I shoved my purse off onto the floor and asked him to sit down. Just then his phone rang. He looked at it for a brief moment before becoming really angry. Craig who is that I asked, now even more worried because he isn't talking to me. Is it because I said I would do the party? All of a sudden his face turned pale.

̈ ̈What? You ́re still doing the party? Why he asked, now with almost a sadness in his voice ̈

I told you Craig I have to, but it will be ok. I will stay with you like we talked about. Just then he put his hands on his mouth while pacing back and forth in front of my bedroom door.

̈ ̈No...no...no...he mumbled into his hands ̈

Craig you're starting to scare me! Please tell me what's wrong?! He wasn't making any sense and I just wanted to know what was really going on. He sat down next to me and that's when he finally said it.

¨I have fallen in love with you! ̈

Just then my face flushed. It felt like it was on fire. I didn't know what to say. I have been wanting to say those words myself for so long. I sat there for a minute then I looked up at him and I confessed that I was in love with him too.

I took his face into my hands while looking deep into his eye, ̈I love you so much Craig, I have loved you for a while now ̈.

He then just started kissing me. He began kissing me so intensely that my lips began to hurt. Before I knew it, he had pushed me back onto the bed. He began kissing me all over and tearing off my shirt. I made him promise that if I gave him my virginity he wouldn't leave me. His eyes filled with tears. He sat back up, now starting to cry. I didn't understand what was going on with him. As he pushed back his tears he finally told me what all this was about. He began to explain why he didn't want me to go to that party or anywhere near his father!

He told me everything that I thought I knew was actually a lie! April had been lying to me this whole time! She was a twenty eight year old woman hired by Mr. Witman to befriend me in order to get me to his house. Craig went on to tell me that his father was actually into all kinds of human trafficking. He said that my father also had dealings with them as well. Mr. Whitman's clients were basically a group of millionaires that could have anything they wanted. My dad was suppose to provide one of their clients with a young girl, but he couldn't go through with it. He told me my dad broke down.

My dad told Mr. Whitman that the girl reminded him too much of me so he couldn't take part in the business deal. I couldn't believe the things he was telling me! This is my dad, why would he be apart of such a sick group I asked? Craig told me they paid him very well and when the organization started they would always find willing women, but this time the client wanted an eighteen or nineteen year old virgin. He said my dad backed out of the deal and actually took the girl to her house and he told her to stay away from the party. As a result of this they made a new deal. Craig went on to say that the man was promised me. I couldn't believe what I was hearing! Why would my dad do this to me? I began to cry. Craig started to apologize. He tried to comfort me. I asked where my dad was now and that's when he paused, almost like he didn't want to say. I begged him to tell me! He looked me in the eyes as he started to cry with me.

¨I am a bad person Jade ̈

I became even more confused. Craig just tell me the truth, all of the truth now! I was so angry that my tears were turning to rage. ¨Where is my dad¨I shouted?! He went on to tell me everything that I needed to hear, but it would change things forever! He said my dad tried once again to back out of the deal so that is when they hired him to kill him. What...You...I shouted with disbelief?!

You ́re a hitman?! I jumped up off my bed. He tried to hug me but I pushed him away. Craig begged me for forgiveness! He told me that he was so sorry. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I looked at him through my tear soaked eyes and I asked, Is he dead? Is he really dead Craig? With his head hung down he nodded yes. I collapsed to my knees. I now was sobbing uncontrollably. Just then his phone rang again. He grabbed me by my arms and pleaded with me to listen to him. His eyes looked into mine even more intense. Ok I said.

April has called my dad so now they're on their way. They can't let this deal fall through again. They have ordered hits on you if you try to run so there is only one way out. I haven't touched you because I was warned. If I touch you their deal is off and the client won't accept you as the trade.

Craig began pleading with me, ̈ ̈Jade I know this all seems crazy, but if I take your virginity the deal is off ̈

I felt sick to my stomach. ¨What type of sick game are you playing¨ I asked as I started to cry again. I thought you said you loved me?! I thought you wanted to be with me?! How can you be apart of this?! I buried my tear covered face into my hands. Craig then pleaded again for me to listen.

̈ ̈Jade I do love you and I wanted to be with you a long time ago ̈

̈ ̈There is a hit on my head. If I had touched they would kill me. That is the only reason I haven ́t. That is why I tried to keep you away from there. You have to go willingly ̈

¨I will give up my life right now if that means saving you ̈

Craig's voice began to crack.

¨I love you Jade! We don't have much time! ̈

I looked at Craig and I knew he was telling me the truth. The desperation in his face made my heart break. I knew there was only one thing to do. I asked him, so are they planning on killing me as part of the deal? Craig looked puzzled.

Only if you fight, but we still have time. Before he could finish what he was about to say I leaned in and kissed him. I then asked him to make me one promise.

Craig pleaded

̈ ̈Please Jade, no more talking! We are almost out of time! My father will be through that door any second ̈

I kissed him again then I looked into his eyes while making him promise not to do anything. I begged him not to attack them. Just then we heard voices coming from the livingroon.

¨They are here¨ Craig said while going for his gun.

I quickly grabbed his hand while reminding him of his promise. ¨Craig you promised me you won't do anything¨. Then with total defeat, I asked, ¨Please just come get me when this is all over¨.

I felt kind of stupid. Here I was with this guy in a beautiful business suit driving a Maserati and Iḿ in my crappy work shirt and jeans with dirty keds on.

̈What are you doing Jade , I thought to myself. Craig pulled into my apartment complex, parking in one of the yellow guest spots. 

¨I will pick you up from now on so you don't have to walk so late at night ̈  

His voice was very serious as he told me he didn't like me walking. I was so confused. I only met him twice and here he is telling me I can't walk? ̈ ̈Yeah, right ̈! I do what I want and I would never let a guy tell me otherwise. I started to gather my stuff and I decided I would just be honest with him. Honesty is good right?

̈ ̈Craig I barely know you. I mean we just met and honestly I can take care of myself ̈

He turned off the engine and shifted towards me in his seat. He reached over and put his hand on my thigh. He gave me this look that just made me melt inside. He was so sexy! I couldn't think about anything else. Craig then leaned in closer to me. So close I could feel his breath on my mouth. 

¨I don't mind Jade, I promise ̈

I got so nervous I started to fidget in my seat. I wanted so badly for him to kiss me, but I also just wanted to run. I wanted to jump out of his car and just hide under the covers and pretend this isn't happening. Craig then ran his finger across my bottom lip and down my chin and neck. My heart was pounding. He looked deep into my eyes with this intoxicating stare. As he began telling me how beautiful I am, I began to sink further back into my seat. I wanted him to kiss me so bad, but I didn't want him to get the wrong idea about me. Just then he snapped back into his seat as if something terrible popped into his mind. 

̈ ̈Jade did you tell April you would do another party ̈  he asked with a strange tone in his voice. I was shocked and confused. How did he know so much about me?

I nervously answered his question, ¨I did. April really needs the money. Plus your dad is going to make her pay him back for both parties if I don´t attend. I really have too. I have no choice Craig ̈.

He let out a sigh, ̈Ok, did they give you a date? ¨I will be there, but as soon as you get there make sure you come to me first ̈.

I said ok, but then he turned around and grabbed my chin, ¨I mean it Jade, you come straight to me! Don't go anywhere else. Promise me ̈!

His intensity was kind of scaring me, but I promised him I would.
