CHAPTER 11: wedding plans

Britany's pov It was already morning when I finally got the courage to call my mom and dad. My hands were shaking holding the phone. “I’m getting married to Yujin,” I said, and just blurted it out. There was a pause, then my dad’s voice came through, relieved. “Thank God, we don’t have to worry about your happiness.” “You’ll really let me get married?” I asked, half expecting them to say no. “Yes,” he said, simple and sure. My mom jumped in. “When is the date and location?” “I’ll ask him,” I said, feeling my cheeks heat up. “So that’s who you travelled with ‘a friend’?” she asked, and I could hear the smile in her voice. I laughed, nervous. “It still has friend in it, a boy friend. Bye, talk to you later.” I hung up before they could ask more questions. My heart was pounding. I had to tell Yujin now. I tried to wake Yujin but he was not budging at all. He was dead asleep, one arm thrown over his eyes. “Yujin, don’t play pranks or I’ll cry,” I said, shaking his shoulder. “Bri, let me sleep,” he mumbled without opening his eyes. “Never, until I tell you this,” I said, and poked him harder. He groaned. “Go on, I can hear you.” “My parents agreed for us to get married. They were asking the date and location,” I said fast before I lost my nerve. He sat up immediately. “Really?” His eyes were wide awake now. “So when are we going to have the event? My mom asked,” I said. “I’ll tell you by the end of the day,” he said, and pulled me down next to him. Later, Yujin went out to meet up with Sebastian, Azriel, and Kai. I stayed in the room, but I could hear them from the hallway. Azriel asked, “Where’s your girlfriend?” Kai added, “Yeah, we were expecting her or is she coming?” “She’s not here, nor coming,” Yujin said, and his voice sounded flat. “Why? I don’t like your boring face,” Azriel teased. “Go back Yujin and never return,” Kai said playfully. “I don’t have time for this,” Yujin snapped. “Are you under attack?” Azriel asked. “No, I need to fix a date for our wedding,” Yujin said. “Really?” Kai said. Just then raides, Stacey, Ann, and Shawn walked in. Shaun said, “Hey Yujin.” Yujin nodded. “Hi, where have you guys been?” “Just lurking around,” Raides said. Shaun’s eyes lit up. “We just heard ‘our wedding.’” Raides frowned. “So whose wedding is it?” Kai grinned. “Yujin and a girl.” Azriel looked excited. “You guys should see her, silver hair and flame eyes.” Ann crossed her arms. “Yujin, are you cheating on our bestie?” “No, you guys really need to see her, but don’t be surprised at her appearance,” Yujin said then Stacey rushed to find me. “So back to my wedding.” Azriel suggested, “You should do it on the 5th of this month, in a church in the city.” Kai nodded. “Yeah.” “Thank you. So decision made,” Yujin said. Raides looked worried. “Don’t tell me you’re leaving us.” “I really need to go. When are you guys leaving?” Yujin asked. Rades sighed. “We planned to stay till evening, but we’ll stay till your wedding day.” Yujin said, “Alright,” and walked away. Azriel called after him. “You guys can find where you stay by yourself. You are not Yujin’s wife.” Kai added, “All of you came back from the city with a mate.” Just then Sebastian walked in. “Hey, thank God you didn’t come with a mate because—” Sebastian started. Azriel cut him off. “They both came back with a mate.” Sebastian groaned. “Ayyh, you guys are leaving us to party alone.” Rades said, “We still can, but not the women part. Well, I need to rest.” Rades and Shawn left. Back in Yujin and my room, Ann and Stacey had entered. Ann said, “Hey, brit—” then stopped when she saw me. I smiled, relieved to see them. “Ann, I’m so happy to see you.” Stacey stared at my hair and eyes. “Why is your hair and eye color like this?” “This is my normal appearance,” I said quietly. I’d taken the wig and lenses off. Ann gasped. “So you’ve been wearing a wig and lenses all along?” “Yeah,” I admitted. Ann’s face softened. “You and Yujin are getting married?” “Yes,” I said. Stacey hugged me. “I’m so happy for you guys.” “Guys, are you still staying?” I asked. Ann said, “We’ll ask Raides and Shaun.” Stacey said, “Just call Raides now.” Ann called Raides and asked. “What did he say?” I asked, hopeful. Ann smiled. “We are all with you till your wedding day.” “It’s gonna be epic,” I said. Yujin came in just then. Ann and Stacey said, “Bye, see you around,” and left. I turned to Yujin. “Okay.” He held me and kissed me. “I didn’t leave you for long, right?” he asked. “You did, but Ann and Stacey were here to keep me company,” I said. “I missed you, just for that small amount of time,” he said, and buried his face in my neck. I rolled my eyes. “Yeah, right.” “You did not miss me?” he asked, sounding hurt. “No,” I teased. “Really?” He started tickling me. “Okay, okay! I missed you so much!” I laughed, squirming. “So you want to do a simple exercise?” he asked, grinning. “Yujin, what exercise are you talking about?” I asked, already knowing I was in trouble. Yujin’s POV I pulled her toward the bed, grinning. I just wanted her close. “I don’t want to exercise, drop me down,” Britany said, squirming in my arms. “I thought you were tired,” I said. She’d been yawning all evening. “No, I have enough strength,” she insisted. I dropped her on the bed and she immediately jumped up and ran to the other side. “I don’t need exercise.” “Bri,” I called. She was standing on the opposite side of the bed, arms crossed, eyes warning me. “Come here.” “No,” she said, firm. “What exercise are you thinking of?” I asked, confused. What did she think I meant? “I don’t know,” she muttered. “It’s a normal exercise, I’m not going to do anything to you,” I said. I just wanted to wear her out a little so she’d sleep instead of overthinking the wedding. “Okay,” she finally said and walked over. The second she was close enough, I spanked her on her butt. “Ouch!” She made an angry face. “You just hurt me.” “I didn’t,” I said, then smirked. “You made me spank you.” She’d been running and teasing me all night. “Yujin,” she whined. “Sorry, but it didn’t hurt, right?” I asked, trying not to laugh. “No, but you said sorry,” she said, like that proved her point. “Are you ready for the exercise?” I asked. “Maybe,” she said, suspicious. “Lie on the bed facing down.” She did it, and I started massaging her back, slow and easy. Halfway through she was already half asleep, breathing deep. “I’m done,” I said quietly. “I almost slept, I’m really tired and weak now,” she mumbled into the pillow. I smiled. “I accomplished my mission.” “What mission?” she asked, confused and drowsy. “To get you weak, that way you can’t run,” I said, and she groaned. “Yujin, I need to sleep. Tomorrow I’ll do anything you want after we go to the beach,” she promised, voice fading. “Okay, you said so,” I said. I wasn’t letting her forget that. “Ah, goodnight,” she whispered. Within seconds she was out, face relaxed, hair spread across my pillow. I watched her for a while. Mission accomplished indeed. She was safe and she was mine
