“It has something to do with light!” I screamed and opened my eyes. He turned around. “What does it have to do with light?” My mind stuttered and spurted, my neurons jumpstarting old synapses for information. “Something about the way light reflects off of an object?” He came over and sat back down in the chair opposite me and held up the same blue card. “Four hundred and twenty nanometers.” He paused, turning the card in his hand. “That is the wavelength of light reflecting off of this card and transmitting to your eye where your brain applies a label to that information. Blue.” It began to come back to me. Color is the result of different wavelengths of light being picked up by the eye. “What about the other wavelengths, Miss Lawson?” “They…aren’t being reflected back to my eye?”
