Episode 2: The Girl Who Left
The forest swallowed me the moment I crossed the boundary of the Silver Moon Pack.
I didn't stop.
I couldn't.
Every step sent another wave of pain through my chest, but I kept walking.
Behind me was the only home I had ever known.
Behind me was Alpha Adrian.
Behind me was the life I had dreamed about for years.
And now, none of it belonged to me anymore.
My legs finally gave out several miles from the pack.
I fell against a tree, breathing heavily.
The moment I was alone, the tears I had been holding back finally escaped.
I covered my mouth to stop myself from crying.
Why did it hurt so much?
I had always known Adrian might never love me.
But I had never imagined that he would reject me.
My wolf whimpered inside my mind.
He doesn't want us.
"I know," I whispered.
We are alone.
I closed my eyes.
"No. We are not."
I didn't know who I was trying to convince—her or myself.
But the words felt empty.
For twenty-two years, I had lived inside the Silver Moon Pack believing that I knew exactly where I belonged.
I was Elena.
A normal girl.
A weak wolf.
Someone who would probably live an ordinary life.
Until tonight.
I slowly looked at my hands.
They were trembling.
The moonlight fell across my skin.
For a moment, nothing happened.
Then I felt it.
A strange warmth beneath my skin.
I frowned.
"What is this?"
The warmth spread from my palms toward my arms.
My breathing became uneven.
My wolf suddenly became silent.
Too silent.
Then a voice echoed inside my head.
Not my wolf's voice.
A voice I had never heard before.
You have been awakened.
I froze.
"Who are you?"
There was no answer.
The warmth disappeared.
I stared at my hands in confusion.
Maybe I was imagining things.
Maybe the pain had finally driven me crazy.
I forced myself to stand.
I needed somewhere safe.
There was a small abandoned cabin deep inside the forest. I had heard stories about it when I was younger. No one from the pack went there because the area was considered dangerous.
Tonight, dangerous sounded better than returning home.
I started walking again.
The forest grew darker as the moon moved higher into the sky.
Branches scratched my arms.
Cold wind moved through the trees.
Every sound made me nervous.
But I kept going.
After nearly an hour, I finally saw the cabin.
It was old and covered in vines, but it still had four walls and a roof.
That was enough.
I pushed the door open.
Dust filled the air.
There was an old wooden table, a broken chair, and a small fireplace.
I closed the door behind me and slid down against it.
For the first time since leaving the pack, I allowed myself to breathe.
I had no money.
No food.
No family.
No pack.
No mate.
Nothing.
I laughed bitterly.
"Congratulations, Elena."
My voice echoed through the empty cabin.
"You finally got what you wanted."
My chest tightened.
I had wanted Adrian.
And now I had lost everything because of him.
I curled up on the cold floor.
"I hate you."
The words came out as a whisper.
But deep down, I knew that wasn't completely true.
I still loved him.
That was the worst part.
Even after everything he had done, some stupid part of my heart still wanted him to come after me.
To say he had made a mistake.
To tell me he didn't mean it.
To tell me that I was his mate.
But the door remained silent.
He wasn't coming.
I closed my eyes.
"Fine."
A tear rolled down my cheek.
"If you don't want me, I won't need you."
I repeated the words until exhaustion finally pulled me into sleep.

Meanwhile, back at the Silver Moon Pack...
Adrian stood alone in the ceremonial clearing.
The crowd had already disappeared.
The Elder was gone.
The lights had been extinguished.
But Adrian remained where Elena had stood.
He stared at the empty space.
Something felt wrong.
His wolf had been restless ever since the rejection.
Why did you reject her?
Adrian clenched his fists.
"Because she is weak."
You are lying.
His jaw tightened.
"I did what was necessary."
You felt the bond.
Adrian closed his eyes.
Of course he had felt it.
The moment Elena had stepped beneath the moonlight, something inside him had awakened.
His entire body had recognized her.
His mate.
His heart had known.
His wolf had known.
But his mind had refused to accept it.
He was the Alpha.
He needed a powerful Luna.
Someone who could stand beside him.
Someone who could protect the pack.
Not Elena.
Not the quiet girl everyone underestimated.
At least, that was what he had told himself.
But now that she was gone, the pack suddenly felt strangely empty.
Adrian turned toward the forest.
His wolf growled.
Go after her.
"No."
She is our mate.
"I rejected her."
Then fix your mistake.
Adrian didn't answer.
For the first time in years, he was uncertain.
---
The next morning, Elena woke up to a strange sensation.
Something was burning against her chest.
She sat up immediately.
"What?"
A faint golden light appeared beneath her clothes.
She pulled the fabric aside.
A symbol was glowing on her skin.
A crescent moon surrounded by what looked like flames.
Elena stared at it.
"I've never seen this before."
Her wolf suddenly became alert.
Elena...
"What?"
I can feel something.
"What?"
Power.
Elena's heart began pounding.
The golden symbol suddenly became brighter.
The entire cabin shook.
The windows rattled.
Dust fell from the ceiling.
Elena jumped to her feet.
"What is happening?"
A powerful wave of energy exploded from her body.
The old wooden table flew across the room.
The fireplace cracked.
Elena screamed.
Then everything stopped.
Silence returned.
She stood frozen in the middle of the cabin.
Her hands were glowing faintly.
"What... am I?"
Before she could understand what had happened, she heard footsteps outside.
Someone was coming.
Elena's heart raced.
She quickly moved toward the door.
A deep voice came from outside.
"Elena."
She froze.
She knew that voice.
Adrian.
He had come after her.
Her heart betrayed her immediately.
It began beating faster.
For one foolish second, hope returned.
She reached for the door.
Then she stopped.
No.
She couldn't go back.
Not after what he had done.
The footsteps stopped.
"Elena, open the door."
She remained silent.
"I know you're inside."
Her hand tightened around the door handle.
Why was he here?
Didn't he say he didn't want her?
The door suddenly opened.
Adrian stepped inside.
His eyes immediately found hers.
For a moment, neither of them spoke.
He looked different.
Less like the cold Alpha from last night.
More like a man who had spent the entire night fighting with himself.
"What are you doing here?" Elena asked.
Adrian stared at her.
"I came to find you."
"Why?"
He didn't answer.
"Did you suddenly change your mind?"
His expression darkened.
"Elena..."
"No."
She stepped backward.
"You don't get to say my name like everything is normal."
"I never said it was normal."
"You rejected me."
"I know."
"In front of everyone."
"I know."
"You called me weak."
His eyes flickered with guilt.
"I was wrong."
Elena laughed bitterly.
"Are you?"
Adrian moved closer.
"I shouldn't have rejected you."
Her heart skipped.
"Then why did you?"
Silence.
Adrian looked away.
"Because I was afraid."
Elena stared at him.
The most powerful man in the pack had just admitted he was afraid.
"Afraid of what?"
He looked back at her.
"Of what you might become."
Elena frowned.
"What does that mean?"
Before Adrian could answer, a loud howl echoed through the forest.
Both of them turned toward the window.
Adrian's expression instantly changed.
His Alpha instincts took over.
"Someone is here."
"Who?"
He didn't answer.
Another howl echoed.
Then another.
Not one wolf.
Many.
Adrian moved toward the window.
His eyes narrowed.
"Rogues."
Elena's heart sank.
"Why would rogues come here?"
Adrian looked at her.
"They aren't here for the cabin."
His gaze dropped to the glowing mark on her chest.
"They're here for you."
Elena's blood ran cold.
"What?"
Adrian stepped closer.
"Your mark."
She instinctively covered it.
"What about it?"
"I've seen that symbol before."
"Where?"
Adrian's face became pale.
"In the oldest records of our pack."
Elena stared at him.
"What does it mean?"
Before he could answer, the cabin door exploded inward.
A powerful roar shook the room.
Adrian immediately shifted into his wolf form.
Elena stumbled backward.
Several dark figures appeared outside.
Their eyes glowed red in the darkness.
The leader stepped forward.
He looked directly at Elena.
And smiled.
"Finally."
Elena's blood froze.
The stranger's gaze moved to Adrian.
"You really don't know what she is, do you, Alpha?"
Adrian growled.
"Who are you?"
The stranger laughed.
"That doesn't matter."
He looked at Elena again.
"But she does."
Elena's heart pounded.
"What do you want from me?"
The stranger's smile widened.
"Your blood."
Then he whispered words that made Adrian's entire body go still.
"Because the last descendant of the Moon Queen has finally awakened."
Elena stared at him in disbelief.
"Moon Queen?"
The stranger laughed.
"Your mother never told you, did she?"
Elena's world stopped.
"My mother?"
Before she could ask another question, the rogue leader raised his hand.
The wolves behind him attacked.
Adrian lunged forward.
And for the first time in her life, Elena felt something ancient awaken inside her.
Her eyes began to glow gold.
The wolves stopped.
Every creature in the forest suddenly bowed their heads.
Adrian turned around slowly.
His eyes widened.
"Elena..."
She looked at her hands.
The golden light had returned.
But this time, it was stronger.
Much stronger.
And somewhere deep inside her, a voice whispered—
It is time to remember who you are.
Elena looked at Adrian.
For the first time, she wasn't afraid.
She smiled.
And the entire forest trembled.
