"I'm sorry if I kept him from his duties, Mom. Will... Will things be okay?"
We entered Alejandro's office to give them the privacy and room to talk about business. The scene where he was slapped by his father kept replaying in my mind.
"You don't need to say sorry, Melissa. I believe Alejandro did it on his own. That child of mine is as stubborn as his father." Sofia smiled fondly and picked up a picture frame from his son's desk.
"True. Maybe he turned off his phone, so he could be with you." Alessia teased me, taking her eyes off her phone for a second to wink at me.
"It's good that you left to have fun on your own. I used to do that before when I was still getting used to this world, too. Sometimes, it's just too much to bear, you know?"
