Chapter 4: The Art of Seduction

Katerina's POV
I took Alejandro's absence as a chance to look around the mansion without appearing too suspicious. I started with our room and I didn't notice it last night, but it was as big as our house!
I looked around and opened drawers but saw nothing strange. The next thing I found was the walk-in closet divided into two and my eyes softened when I saw Melissa's clothes. I opened drawers after drawers and saw expensive and branded shoes, watches, jewelries and accessories. They are all brand new and it looks like Melissa hasn't worn any of them.
"Did he just buy them recently?" I thought out loud and proceeded to observe the room. I went to his closet next and I got dizzy at the amount of expensive things he owned. "Just how rich is he?"
Half a day quickly passed by with me just snooping around the mansion, trying not to be too obvious. Lunch came and Alejandro told me to wait for him at the fancy dining area. I didn't even need to lift a hand and a maid is already serving me food.
"I hope I wasn't gone for too long."
Alejandro entered the kitchen in all his playful yet intimidating aura. I half expected to see blood on his suit again but I saw nothing. He placed a box in front of me and I stiffened when he pulled out a carrot cake with nuts on top of it.
"Your favorite as a peace offer." He grinned at me and asked the maid to serve me a slice.
I know I'm as pale as a ghost by now because I am deadly allergic to nuts, but just like Alejandro said, nuts are Melissa's favorite. He waited for me to have a bite and I forced a smile before reaching for the fork with shaking hands. I cut a small part of the cake and put it in my mouth under his intense observation.
Why is he looking at me like that? Is he suspicious of me?
I swallowed the piece of cake and it felt like I was swallowing a shard of broken glass. I was reminded of the first time I ate nuts and almost died but I was thankfully taken to the hospital just in time.
"Is it delicious?"
My mouth carved in a small and fake smile. "It is. Thank you, Alejandro. May... May I be excused? I need to go to the restroom."
I acted as normal as I could, as if that small bite wasn't fatal to me, but when I was sure he couldn't see me anymore, I gasped for air and gripped my throat. It's starting to take effect and I will soon find it hard to breathe. I rushed upstairs, stumbling and tripping on my way back to the room where my medicine is, and I kept looking over my shoulder to make sure he couldn't see me. By the time I reached for my medicine and took it, I was almost out of breath and I thought I was dying.
I breathed heavily and clutched my chest. "I'd do anything for you, Mel. This is nothing." I panted and swallowed hard.

"Teach me how to seduce a man."
Tina, my best friend since high school, placed a hand over her shoulder as if I had just told her the most ridiculous thing ever.
"Excuse you? Do I look like a seductress to you?" She asked, acting all dramatic and offended. "We haven't seen each other in two years and that's how you greet me?" She scoffed while crossing her legs and sipping her coffee.
"You seduced your husband, didn't you?" I teased her and she almost choked on her drink.
I reached for Tina this morning because I can't just keep flinching and cowering away from Alejandro's touch, and that man really loves touching me! It's been a week since our marriage and I'm still saved by my excuse that I'm still sore, but soon, I'd have to think of more excuses. That is not only my problem. How will I be able to keep him entertained when I can't stand his touch? When my skin crawls every time he hugs or kisses me?
"You didn't need to attack me like that, hoe." She laughed and wiped her lips. "But why? Who are you seducing?"
I sighed deeply and she must have noticed that something was wrong, so she stopped joking and turned serious.
"Did something happen, Kate?"
"Melissa is dead, Tee." I revealed after discreetly checking that the bodyguards Alejandro gave me are outside.
Tina gasped loudly and I proceeded to tell her everything. Tina isn't just my best friend but another sister from another mother. She knows everything about me and my family. We never stopped being best friends even after she got married and even when she lived in another city. I told her about Melissa's death and what I needed to do, but I didn't tell her about the dangerous part of me sacrificing myself. I only told her that I will pose as Melissa so Alejandro wouldn't be angry at my family. I told her everything she needed about Alejandro so she could help me.
"Why do you need to seduce him when he's already your husband?"
"I want to keep him interested in me, Tee, and you know that I..." I trailed off, a small blush appearing in my cheeks.
"Oh, I know, girl. I know how innocent you are, that is why I'm worried about you. How could a virgin like you escape the hands of a pervert like him?" She sighed and looked around us. "We can't do that here, Kate. How about we sleepover and I teach you everything I know?" She wiggled her eyebrows at me and I just shook my head at her.
I reluctantly called Alejandro to let him know about the sleepover, and it wasn't as easy as I thought.
"Who is she? Give me her name and address. Better yet, give me a picture. Where will you be staying? How long will you be gone?"
'Is he my husband or my father?' I thought in annoyance but answered his questions anyway.
"Three days? No, make it two. I can't last that long without s*x and we haven't done it for days. Don't let my hotdog miss your donut too much."
I squeezed my eyes shut and my whole body shook in disgust and anger at his vulgar words.
"Then look for another woman to fuck." I said out loud before I could stop myself and I covered my mouth with wide eyes, even Tina was surprised by my outburst.
I was never one to curse or say vulgar words, let alone talk back to someone and that is why she's surprised but excited at the same time.
My heart pounded in my chest when Alejandro fell silent. I panicked and thought of any excuse. Oh, no. How do I escape this one?
"Ah, that's the Melissa I know. Don't worry, kitten, you are the only p***y I will fuck."
My face scrunched up in disgust and I ended the call without responding to his suggestive words.
"He's really a maniac."
Tina almost died in laughter and I glared at her, making her stop. She cleared her throat and straightened up.
"Okay, let the seduction begin."
