Losing

LUCA'S POV

" Your're tired ? " Griffin scoffs angrily . " Yes , f**k sakes ." I grit out , parking my car in front of the castle .

" You're weak , that's all you f*****g are ." Griffin seethes and I roll my eyes .

" You are more than welcome to go look for her yourself ." I shrug , a devilish smile tugging at my lips .

" Oh right , you can't ." I begin to laugh as I open the door and step into the cool breeze , my body slightly tensing as a shiver runs down my spine .

" Asshole ." Griffin grits out and I shrug , walking into the house .

" Son !" my mother comes storming towards me , the widest smile on her face . " Mother ." I return the smile , nodding .

What I didn't expect was for her to throw her arms around me .

My body stiffens and I stare wide eyed at the wall .

" Mom ." I breathe out as calmly as possible and she immediately steps back , guilt creeping up her face .

" Oh , I .. I'm sorry ." She shakes her head , her hands moving up to her mouth in shock .

" It's alright , just .." I step back , forcing a smile onto my face .

I could tell she's excited and couldn't help herself , I don't want her to apologize for being herself .

" I .. I don't know what I was thinking , sorry ." she mutters again and I begin to laugh , " Mom , it's fine . What's up ?" I change the subject .

I don't like people touching me , I don't like it when people hold me tightly and the only physical contact I have with people is when I bend girls over , holding their hair in a tight grip while doing them , but that stopped too , since this morning because I found her , I found the one who's made for me and me alone .

" Your father said you found your mate ." My mother's eyes glistening with pure happiness .

" Sort of ." I frown apologetically and I hate the way her smile disappears and turns into a frown .

" What do you mean ?" She asks confused .

" I found her scent , she was so close , but I couldn't find her before the meeting and dad would have murdered me if I missed it but when I went back afterwards , I still couldn't find her ." I frown .

" Then let's go find her Luca ." she breathes out and I don't know who's more excited , me or her .

" Finally , someone who is smart !" Griffin exclaims and I refrain from rolling my eyes before my mother gets offended .

" It's been a long day and I drove around everywhere , walked through town but all I could smell where foods and coffee and other people . Her scent was there , but very faint ." I explain and she chews on her bottom lip , sighing as she glances around .

" If only we had something of hers ." she sighs and I roll my eyes at her , " You were in my room ." I call her out on the piece of material that was laying on my bed .

" We can find her with it Luca , don't you want to ?" she asks , challenging me and of course it's like her to do that when I can never say no for a challenge .

" Fine , just let me get dressed ." I mutter , making her scoff as she waves her hand in the air .

" No , we'll go as wolves ." she shrugs and I stare at her agape , " We could be seen ." I tell her like she doesn't know it already .

" We'll go late at night ." she whispers , " Dad would murder us both ." I point out and she grins , " It was his idea ." he shrugs and I was honestly shocked , I didn't think my dad would ever say that .

" Really ?" My eyes widen .

" Yes , now get your guards and let them sniff and we can go ." she taps her fingers against each other almost evilly and I chuckle before walking off , mind linking the guards to get ready .

After running around for hours on end through the woods , I could sill smell the faint scent of her , it stops just outside of the woods , truck tracks groveled deep into the sand as whoever drove spun their wheels a bit .

" Is it safe to go into town ?" I mind link my parents .

" Just be careful ." Dad mind links back , nodding and I inhale deeply before we make it into the town , but I don't feel very good about this .

" Stop ." I mind link everyone and they halt . My eyes glance around and I notice the security camera's in town.

" We can't do this as wolves , there are too many camera's ." I explain to my parents , nodding into the direction of the one sitting against the house , the other on a lamp pole .

" We can do this as human's in the morning ." I tell them and they nod .

Arriving back home , a servant waits outside for us with clothes , handing it to us as we shift back into humans .

As I get dressed , I thank everyone , even if I feel disappointed .

I wanted to find her , with the help of my parents , I honestly thought we could do it . I thought that we can find her , but the town isn't so small .

" We'll find her ." Dorian nods , offering a smile to me and I sigh , nodding .

" Sometime ." I raise my brows .

" Tomorrow maybe ." Dorian seems excited and I wish I could feel the same , but not finding her today , what are the ods of finding her tomorrow ?

THREE WEEKS LATER

Three f*****g weeks , three . That is how long I have been losing my mind over someone I don't even know , someone I have never seen before and someone I know that I absolutely love .

How crazy does that make me because on a scale from one to ten , I would say a solid hundred .

I lay awake , watching as dawn rolls in , the sun peaking over the trees that surround the castle , the same trees that swept the scent away a day after I have met her and I curse the moon goddess for it .

The first night looking for her , I didn't find her and I wasn't going to put my pack in danger to find the love of my life .

That whole night , I laid awake , tossing and turning , laying down and sitting up , pacing around my room , doing sit ups until my body begged me to stop .

I had a long talk with the moon about how unfair the moon goddess is . Why couldn't she stop my mate from leaving ? Why couldn't she have kept her there a few minutes longer ?
