NOVALIE'S POV

I don't know how I made it to the woods , but I arrived just in time before every bone in my body snapped and rearranged itself like it was a Rubix cube on c***k .

I feel like clawing at everything as I stand on all four paws but I'm suddenly unable to control anything .

' It's my time , sweetie .' Sofie beams and I could tell that if she were human , she would be grinning from ear to ear in joy .

" I loath you ." I mutter , but it's honestly strange that my mouth can't move .

" I love you too ." she beams , starting to walk through the woods like it's her home .

" No , loath ." I grit out annoyed .

" Love , that's what I said ." she mutters sarcastically and I realize that she was teasing me .

" I want Brent ." I grit out and Sofie begins to laugh , " He's no good , let me show you what's good ." Sofie beams before darting deeper into the woods .

" Stop !" I yell , but she hums me away .

Please god , make her go away .

She laughs my prayer off , " It's goddess ." she seems to correct me .

" God is a woman ?" I ask and she scoffs , " No , I don't know . But we , as wolves , have a moon goddess ." she beams so proudly and I feel like I want to slam myself until she's out of my head .

' If that would have worked , I would have done that myself to rid myself of you .' Sofie begins to laugh and even though we are having a difference right now , I love her and I know she loves me too .

She says nothing on that thought and it kind of makes me worry .

" Are we seriously going to spend the night in the woods ?" I ask , watching the trees around us grow darker , the cool breeze brushing against our fur and I could feel it , it felt like wind in my hair .

I actually love it .

' Yes . We can't shift back until your body allows us too .' Sofie murmurs and this time , it actually feels like the truth .

' I never lied before .' she scoffs and the fact that I want to chew my bottom lip but can't - is crazy .

" What are we going to do the entire night ?" I sigh .

' Do you know what speed feels like ?' she asks , making me roll my eyes .

" Yes , I have driven with Cassie ." I scoff , " Why ?"

' That's not speed , this however , is .' I feel confused as to what she's talking about but with an extreme amount of power , she kicks off the floor and starts running and if I were human , my eyes would be shut and my vision blurry , but right now , in this moment , I could feel how fast we run , the trees flying by as as fast as lightning , yet I could make out everyone clear as day as if I were standing still on one place .

‘ It’s amazing , isn’t it ?’ Sofie beams , the excitement in her voice was delightful to hear , because let’s be honest , it’s always better when someone sounds like this instead of wanting to snap your head off .

“It truly is .” I love the way how the darkness doesn’t even look dark , it’s like the sun was out and I could see miles away .

‘ Because we can see in the dark .’ Sofie explains and learning all of this right now .. I silently wish I learned it earlier .

‘You better not say because then you could gave gone on your stupid date with that human .’ Sofie seethes and I freeze , trying not to think of the reason .

“Okay .” Is all I say before she jumps off a cliff or something .

‘ I’m not getting suicidal over that boy . Don’t you worry .’ Sofie scoffs and it makes me feel really stupid .

Why can’t she just like the guy ?

Oh no .

I didn’t cancel the date , he totally going to think that I stood him up .

‘ Maybe he will leave us alone then .’ Sofie beams sarcastically and it feels like my heart was shattering .

“Do you really think he’ll dump me ?” I ask in a whimper , making my so called wolf , sigh miserably .

I could feel her feel bad for me , it’s honestly strange since it’s not my feelings , but I feel them .

‘ If he dumps you , he’s an i***t because you’re nice and sweet , but if he doesn’t , don’t think I will be happy about it because we have a mate , a love that will make your knees week and all you are doing is waiting your precious time .’ She mutters and I can’t help but want to smile .

A strong musky scent infiltrates our nose and Sofie begins to howl , loud and clear , her howl echoing through the woods , making the birds fly from out of the trees . Leaves fall around us and she glances around , our paws tapping against floor , the heavy thuds making me want to laugh .

“Are you dancing ?” I ask judging her .

‘ Shut up .’ She mutters lowly , saying each word with a warning tone .

I begin to laugh , unable to fathom how someone could become so excited over someone they never met but I can’t cry about someone I actually know .

‘ I said shut up .’ Sofie seethes , her nose tilting up into the sky as she inhales deeply and the musky smell gets stronger , which probably means he is closer .

Sofie steps forward , even if I try my best to pull her back , but I’m not strong enough to control her .

I should learned this .

I don’t want to meet him , even if he does smell delicious .

‘So delicious .’ Sofie groans , making me cringe as she thinks of another man like that .

A man that could be a monster , a man who could be awful , he could be rude .

‘He’ll be perfect .’ Sofie growls .

“Is that suppose to threaten me ?” I ask in a bored tone and she rolls her eyes .

He could be a killer , he could be rude and he could hurt us .

She doesn’t listen , even if I know that she can hear me .

Everything around me feels like it has gone cold as we stand still , a shadow appears from behind the big tree in front of us and as we lock eyes on the bright neon green ones with dark chocolate fur , I could feel it .

It’s him .

‘It sure is .’ Sofie beams and before I know it , I shift to human form , falling to the floor , landing on my a*s .

How the hell did I just shift ?

‘I don’t know .’ Sofie mutters , but in the sound of her voice , I could hear the lie .

She knows .

‘I don’t .’ She argues and I roll my eyes before lifting my head , my blonde hair falls around my face , a little messy and I covers my breasts with my arm , carefully sitting on the floor , hiding my n***d body to the strange wolf’s eye .

He shifts , his walking wolf turning into a human and oh my , he is breathtaking .

His dark chocolate hair was pointing in all directions , his eyes were locked on mine as he walked closer and I could tell they were beautiful even if I couldn’t see the colour from where I sat .

He has strong broad shoulders , biceps that look like bulldozers and the veins dragging down his arms are mesmerizing , a pathway on a map .

My eyes trail down too far past his six pack and I immediately drag my sight away from the hard and throbbing hard on .

He slowly bends down in front of me and without saying a word , I feel the heat forming at the base of my spine .

“I’m Luca .” He holds his hand out , staring straight into my eyes .

His green orbs are like the forest , beautiful and dark .

There’s a lot of life living in the forest , plants , trees , animals .

His eyes hold the life of all of them in those green hues .

“I’m Nova , Novalie .” I correct myself and as I lift my hand , placing it in his , sparks fly through my body and it feels like I am being electrocuted , but the soft vibrations running through my body has my thighs clenching .

“You’re not from around here .” He points out the obvious , I don’t live in the woods .

‘Not what he means .’ Sofie snaps and I absentmindedly roll my eyes as he tries to pull me up .

I snap my hand back , holding myself .

“I’m n***d .” I frown at him and he chuckles , “I know ..” his deep laugh makes my stomach tighten .

“Where are you from ?” He asks , c*****g his head at me .

“The town .” I shrug and this time he frowns .

“What ?” He asks confused .

“I’m from the town .” I shrug , covering my nakedness with my arms and hands .
